Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Team 11
Drops of water caressed his body as they fell. Looking up at the shower ceiling, Toru let out a long sigh.
(So... I'm already a genin. The teams will be formed today, each team will have a tutor who will make sure their team improves physically and mentally).
Closing his eyes as he let the water fall on his face, Toru thought, he didn't know who his teammates will be, much less who will be the tutor in charge. Toru couldn't deny that he felt nervous.
(I have to get ready...)
After a long shower, Toru got dressed in the clothes he always usually has on, although there were a few extra things. He had the black sweater he always wears, as well as his shorts, the scarf around his neck and the bandages on his arms and legs, but other than that, in his right ear was a claw earring, and on his left arm was tied the forehead protector with the symbol of Konohagakure.
(I still have some time to get there, but I should eat something first).
Placing the sandals on his feet, Toru opened the door, revealing the apartment complex he lives in.
(It's really hot today, I should eat something cold, or maybe something that's not too heavy).
Locking the door, Toru headed to the ninja academy, in his mind he thought he could buy something to eat on the way.
-Ninja Academy-
As usual, the hustle and bustle was always present in that classroom.
(They are very noisy)
Passing through the front door, Toru appeared, he had a stuffed bread in his hand.
(It's as if he was invisible)
Looking around the classroom, Toru noticed that no one was looking at him the moment he arrived, well, there was someone, but Toru already knew who it was, he always knew.
(Hinata...)
Staring at the ground with a neutral expression, Toru could only think of things from the past that he didn't like at all.
(It won't do me any good to think about things from the past, it will only be a waste of time).
Finished eating, Toru took a seat, his arms were on the table, and the look in his eyes pointed at the window.
"I got here first!"
Suddenly, the voices of two girls made Toru turn his gaze to the entrance of the classroom, it was Sakura and Ino.
"How does it feel to lose?" giving Ino a superior look, Sakura sighed tiredly.
"Losing? I got there first, my foot is an inch ahead of yours" Ino said trying to catch her breath.
"Really? I'm sure my foot is ahead of yours."
(Those two... they always do the same thing, I wish I could stop them, but I don't want to stand out, so I'd better stay here).
Shaking his head, Toru looked at the two girls arguing with each other. For him, watching Sakura and Ino fight all the time was torture, but unfortunately he could only stand by and watch, if he tried to intervene he would most likely end up getting beaten up by those two girls, plus he would end up drawing attention to himself, and that would ruin his reputation as a strange and quiet boy.
"Hey, where are you going!"
Ino asked as she saw Sakura completely ignored her and ran off in search of someone.
"Get out of my way!"
Using the palm of her hand, Sakura made Naruto, who at that moment was expecting a warm welcome, crash into the table next to her.
"Good morning, Sasuke-kun" Looking at the boy sitting across from her, Sakura spoke.
At that, Sasuke just looked at the girl who had greeted him.
"Can I sit next to you?" Sakura asked, but was interrupted by Ino.
"Hey, I'll be the one sitting next to Sasuke" Grabbing Sakura by the arm, Ino reproached. Her face showed a slight expression of annoyance.
"No, I'll be the one to sit next to Sasuke."
Due to the heat se moment, most of the girls in the classroom began to approach the place in an attempt to get a seat next to Sasuke.
(What a bummer) Seeing all the girls fighting over him, Sasuke just looked back to the front and sighed tiredly.
Meanwhile Naruto, who was still leaning on the table where he went to hit by Sakura's punch, stood up and climbed on Sasuke's table. Bringing his face close with Sasuke's, Naruto looked at him with annoyance.
"Hey, Naruto. stop staring at Sasuke-kun like that!" Sakura said as she looked at Naruto with an annoyed expression on her face.
(Sakura...)
Naruto felt hurt by Sakura's words. So he looked Sasuke in the eyes again.
(Everyone is obsessed with Sasuke. What does he have that I don't have?) Naruto wondered.
While all this was going on Toru was watching silently, the expression on his face was the same as always, so trying to guess what he's thinking is too difficult, not to say impossible.
(I can see how this is going to end)
Closing his eyes a little Toru continued to watch, until....
"Huh...?"
Even Toru was surprised by what had happened, Naruto and Sasuke's lips were pressed together.
"Gross!"
"I'm going to kill you, Naruto."
Separating quickly, Naruto and Sasuke made a disgusted face.
"You... you..." All the girls had dead fish faces. Sasuke's first kiss had been stolen by Naruto, and that's something that made all the girls' anger flare up.
"Naruto..." With a somber look on her face, Sakura spoke.
"It was an accident" Trying to defend himself Naruto replied, but his excuse didn't work.
"What I'm going to do will also be an accident" Preparing his fists for the attack, Sakura's eyes flared red.
"Ahhhh!"
(That was unexpected...I didn't know Sasuke and Naruto had those kinds of tastes.)
Misunderstanding what had happened, Toru crossed his arms and shook his head. What had happened was so sudden that his brain interpreted the information received in a different way.
After a few minutes, Iruka arrived in the classroom.
"As of now they are ninja, but they are still genin. So I hope they can become stronger as time goes by."
With a slight smile Iruka spoke, he was proud of his students, especially Naruto, though by this time Naruto was in agony from the blows he received from the girls.
"Good, now, everyone will be divided into teams of three, and will be supervised by a jounin rank teacher" Iruka looked at his students as he spoke.
"Also, we have formed the teams in such a way that everyone will have equivalent skills."
(In groups of three, huh. They also evaluated our skills, so the teams will be balanced, I wonder...)
Toru looked at Sasuke and Naruto while thinking about the odds of ending up in a team with them.
"Then I'll say the teams."
While holding a sheet of paper, Iruka began to name the teams.
Team 7: Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura, Uchiha Sasuke.
Team 8: Onikuma Enko, Inuzuka Kiba, Aburame Shino.
Team 10: Hoki Hakuto, Nara Shikamaru, Akimichi Chouji
Team 11: Asahi Toru, Hyuga Hinata, Yamanaka Ino.
After hearing the teams, some celebrated and some lamented.
"I'm with Sasuke-kun" With a smile on her mouth, Sakura looked at Ino.
"Damn..." Admitting defeat, Ino kept quiet, she felt that if she said anything Sakura would end up making fun of her.
(Then that's my team)
Toru narrowed his eyes and sighed, for some reason he had a feeling that being on that team was going to bring him tons of stress.
"Iruka-sensei, why am I is with the weirdo?"
Tapping the table with her palm Ino looked at Iruka and asked. In response Iruka let out a sigh, even though he had already explained there were students who disagreed with the teams.
"Ha~ I said it before, the teams are formed in such a way that the students have equivalent skills. I'll take your team as an example, Toru is the one with the most disappointing grades, on the other hand Hinata is the one with the best grades, as for you, you are the one with the most balanced grades, they are neither bad nor good."
Ino understood the explanation perfectly, however, she didn't want to be with someone like Toru, after all who Ino wants to be with is Sasuke.
"Well, since no one has any more questions, I'll just say that after lunch time you will be assigned a classroom, where you will meet the sensei who will be in charge of your teams."
After speaking, Iruka took some sheets of paper that were on the desk and left the classroom.
"Why me?"
Ino laid her head on the table and silently lamented. She longed to be together with Sasuke, but sadly she was assigned to another team.
(No, I don't have to mope. I can still beat Sakura, I just have to make Sasuke fall in love with me.)
Putting her hands on the table, Ino spoke internally.
"You two!" Pointing her finger at Toru, and looking at Hinata, Ino reluctantly spoke.
"Come with me."
(Huh? A few seconds ago she was making a fuss because she didn't want me on the team, but now...)
Toru closed his eyes for a moment before getting up from his seat, Hinata replied Toru's actions and also got up from her seat.
"I..." Hinata's eyes looked down at the ground, she was nervous, since as of today she was a ninja, and she had to be with her team most of the time.
"Since we are a team we will have to have lunch together before we meet our sensei."
Picking up a wooden box, Ino looked at Toru with annoyance.
"I understand... I didn't bring lunch" Toru spoke with the typical expressionlessness of his face, he had eaten recently, although it wasn't much it was enough to satiate his hunger.
"I can give you some mu lunch."
Toru's gaze moved in the direction of Hinata's pretty face. He still felt a little guilty for ignoring her for so long, so accepting lunch was the first step to reconciliation.
"Thank you, Hinata."
Bowing slightly, Toru thanked, something that brought a small smile to Hinata's face.
"Well, let's go then" Ino said as she walked out of the classroom.
-Somewhere in the ninja academy-
"Ha~ Sasuke..."
Sitting on the stairs somewhere, Ino sighed wearily.
"What bad luck I had to be on the same team as this one" Looking at Toru with annoyance, Ino reproached.
"Well, I'm sorry."
Turning the page of the book in his hands, Toru only sighed and replied. Not even ten minutes had passed, but he had already grown tired of Ino's attitude.
"I'm sorry too."
Lowering her gaze, Hinata also apologized, though there was no need to.
"That doesn't matter anymore. Now, if you want this to work you will have to follow my orders. From now on I will be the leader of this team."
Hearing Ino speak, a sigh came out of Toru's mouth.
(I knew something like this would happen).
Taking a bite of the rice ball Hinata gave him, Toru turned another page of the book.
"If we have you as a leader our team will go to ruin."
Without looking away from the book, Toru spoke sarcastically, causing Ino's anger to flare up like a bonfire.
"You think it will be better if you are the leader? Hahaha, don't make me laugh, have you seen your qualifications? You don't have the skills to lead a team."
"A monkey would be a better leader than you" Speaking suddenly, Toru looked Ino in the eyes.
"What did you say?"
Just like Toru, Ino also looked Toru in the eyes.
And Hinata, all she could do was watch as Ino looked at Toru with annoyance. She decided to intervene a few seconds later though.
"Don't fight, we're a team, we should... get along."
Hinata looked down at the ground to miss the look of anger Ino had at that moment.
"Ha~ somehow you're right."
Ino resigned herself and sat back down on the stairs. Her mind was a mess, she couldn't sort out her thoughts properly, she was still mad at Sakura for being picked in Sasuke's team.
"In any case, we should go to the classroom we were assigned. Lunch time is about to end" Toru said as he closed the book in his hands.
"Yeah, I guess..."
-In the halls of the ninja academy-
His footsteps echoed in the place, he had short brown hair and eyes as black as night.
"Ha~ Kakashi, I never asked you to recommend me for this."
Closing his eyes the man sighed, he had the tactical vest that the Jounin wear, plus he had some sort of mask that didn't cover much of his face, only this one had the forehead protector embedded in it.
"Then it will be team 11..."
