Chapter 17: Chapter 16: Training with Hinata
The bustle of people resounded in Toru's ears as he passed through the gate of that town and Ino's eyes contemplated the buildings that make up the place.
(It's different from Konoha...)
Looking at the scenery of the village, Toru couldn't help but compare the place to Konoha. The buildings in the village were strangely more modern than the buildings that were in the Leaf Village.
(This will be where the mission ends, huh...) Toru closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again.
"Well, since we've arrived at the location, I'll take care of escorting Hiashi-san to his destination. For the time being you can do some sightseeing, we'll meet back here at noon" Yamato said with a slight smile on his face, he knew that his students are a bit stressed from all the missions they had to complete in the last week, so this was going to serve them to relax a bit while he escorted Hiashi and Hanabi.
"Touring? That's sounds great, I've accumulated too much money from the missions, so.... I'm going clothes shopping!" Ino said then ran off in a random direction.
Toru looked at Ino for a few seconds before sighing, Ino's attitude was getting worse as the days went by, that was becoming a problem for the team.
"See you later, Toru-Nii-san" Hanabi said as she looked at Toru with a smile.
After that, Yamato, Hiashi and Hanabi went to a specific place, leaving Hinata and Toru completely alone.
These two remained silent for a few seconds as they watched their sensei walk away together with Hiashi and Hanabi.
(I should buy some food...)
Toru put his hands in his pockets and started walking in search of some restaurant or store.
"Huh? I... Toru-kun, wait for me!" Hinata said as she tried to catch up to Toru, something that was very easy since Toru was walking at a slow pace.
Walking beside him, Hinata sighed.
"We should buy some food" Toru said with a soft tone of voice.
This made Hinata look Toru in the face before replying.
"I guess so... on the whole trip we could only eat rice balls and water" After a while, Hinata's eyes pointed to the ground.
Hearing the answer, Toru only affirmed with a slight nod of his head and continued walking beside Hinata.
Although silence was present, neither of them felt uncomfortable, after all, in the past they both used to be quiet for hours.
(I have a lot of money accumulated, the missions we have completed this week have given me funds to be able to continue my research.)
Toru looked up at the sky and sighed, the little money Kyoko left as an inheritance for her son wasn't much, but thanks to the missions Toru and his team completed, money was something they no longer had to worry about. If not for that organization, Toru would still have plenty of money.
(When I return to Konoha I'll have to buy the materials to be able to make 'it')
Toru took his hands out of his pockets and entered one of the restaurants next to Hinata.
-In some clothing store.
Her eyes sparkled from the excitement she felt, different types of clothes were in front of her.
"I'm going to take this one, I'm sure Sasuke will love it" Lifting an article of clothing between her hands, Ino spoke, there was a smile on her face that showed how happy she was at that moment.
Minutes later, Ino came out of the clothing store with two paper bags, one in each hand.
(What should I do now? It's still a long way to noon...) Ino scanned her surroundings in search of something to keep her busy until noon, but was unsuccessful.
"Ha~ maybe I'll go get some food" After saying that, Ino held the paper bags in one of her hands and took a breath of air.
For some reason, she felt lonely, even though she was the first to separate from the team when she heard the word 'tourism'.
(Well... there should be somewhere I can go.)
Having said that, Ino started walking aimlessly.
-Somewhere-
The wind made the leaves of the trees blow away, while the morning breeze made Toru's hair stand in front of her eyes. Toru just took that lock of hair and moved it to the side.
At that moment, Hinata was at his side, eating an onigiri while looking at the sky with a thoughtful expression on her face.
Bringing the onigiri to his mouth, Toru thought, it had been a few minutes since they arrived at that place.
Everything was covered with trees, there was a stone path with wooden benches on the sides, some people could also be seen walking around the place, all that was reassuring for Toru.
(It's still two hours before noon, he should do something until then...)
Toru closed his eyes and took a breath. When he opened his eyes, he looked at Hinata, she was looking at the sky with a worried expression, he knew something was up with the white-eyed girl.
At that moment, Toru remembered the night before, Hinata asked some confusing questions, but all those questions were making sense as the seconds passed.
Without saying anything, Toru got up from the bench and started walking in the direction of the trees.
"Huh... Where are you going, Toru-kun?" Hinata asked as she put down the onigiri in a box.
Toru turned around and looked at Hinata before speaking.
"You're not coming?" His eyes, his lips, the expression on his face showed no emotion, he simply spoke with a sleepy-eyed face.
After saying that, Toru turned around and continued walking. Hinata looked at him for a few seconds before reacting.
"Uh... yeah, wait for me..." Hinata said, at the same time her hands put away the food in the boxes they received when they bought it at the restaurant.
After doing that, Hinata took the boxes in her hands and followed Toru.
It wasn't long before Toru decided to stop, the place where they were now was desolate, there was no one there.
"Where are we?" Hinata asked, the expression on her face looked confused.
Hearing the question, Toru looked up at the sky, he remembered again what happened the night before and a sigh escaped his lips.
"Do you want to train with me?"
Toru turned around and spoke, her eyes glittered for a moment due to the shadows of the trees and the sunlight.
"Train?"
Hinata was confused, Toru just looked at her and asked if she wanted to train, but that was kind of strange coming from him.
"Yes, I figured a match between us would give us more combat experience" Toru blinked once before moving a little closer to Hinata.
"But if you don't wish to engage in combat with me I won't insist."
Hinata looked Toru in the eyes, for a second she remembered the training she had had all her life, it was practically being beaten until she managed to land a hit.
(If it's with Toru... I...)
Hinata looked down at the ground, but a second later she looked up and replied.
"I'm not sure, but if you want to..." Looking at Toru with a slight smile, Hinata replied.
This caused Toru to move a little away, standing ten feet away from Hinata.
(Good, this benefits us both) Toru thought, after all he had never been in real combat before, plus it would help Hinata with her inferiority complex.
"Hyuga's have a different fighting style than any ninja" Toru said.
"Yeah, I guess" Hinata replied.
After saying that, Toru raised his arms a little, taking his fighting stance, it was very similar to the stance that boxers use only this one has slight changes, the arms are a little more raised, plus the palms are pointing to the center of the body.
Seeing Toru's strange stance, Hinata imitated that and took her own fighting stance, the Juken style stance.
For a few seconds, Toru concentrated on analyzing Hinata, her fighting stance was very much in favor of the fighting style used by the Hyuga.
"Hinata, use your eyes."
Hinata's eyes locked onto Toru's eyes, she was thinking about fighting without using Byakugan, so Toru's words left her a bit confused.
"But if I use my eyes I..." Looking down at the ground, Hinata spoke. The expression on her face was unsure, but Toru understood that, even so....
"If you don't use your eyes it wouldn't be training" With a neutral expression, Toru looked at Hinata, she just looked up not knowing what to reply.
"Well, but I don't think I can win..." Averting her gaze, Hinata held the sleeves of her sweater.
After listening to Hinata, Toru sighed.
"Then, when this coin hits the ground, the fight will begin, are you ready?"
The wind blew hard, making Toru's hair cover one of his eyes, then the coin was tossed.
(Byakugan!)
Instantly, the veins around Hinata's eyes swelled and chakra enveloped her hands in a light blue color.
Meanwhile, Toru took a deep breath, at no time taking his eyes off Hinata.
Then, when the coin hit the ground, Toru disappeared.
"Huh?"
Hinata's eyes looked in different directions in search of the gray-eyed boy, but not a single second passed when Toru appeared in front of her, at that moment he was pointing at Hinata's face with his fist.
"Ah!"
Using the palm of her hand, Hinata punched Toru's fist, making him miss hitting her, but using the recoil of the punch, Toru spun in the air and lifted his leg to kick, in response to that, Hinata gave a quick jump backwards.
(That's too fast!)
Hinata tried to read Toru's movements, but he was too fast, even though he used Byakugan to see through it.
(He's as fast as Yamato-sensei!)
Hinata noticed Toru's abilities, so far she had only seen a few demonstrations of what Toru was capable of, but those demonstrations were only mental and not physical.
(What?)
Without giving her time to think, Toru went on the attack once again, disappearing and appearing again and again in front of her. Hinata felt weak in front of him.
*Wind sound*
Using the palms of her hands, Hinata tried to deflect all of Toru's blows, each blow producing a wave of chakra that spread through the air.
(I can't, it's too fast)
A bead of sweat trickled down Hinata's forehead as she desperately tried to evade the attacks.
Toru was too fast, but for some reason she was able to block the attacks.
(She has more potential than I thought) With a dead-eyed look, Toru thought, so far he hadn't seen Hinata's full potential.
*Wind sound*
Toru's attacks were fast, Hinata was barely able to block and evade them
"Ah!"
Doing a 180 degree turn, Hinata managed to hit Toru right in the chest.
(What is this?)
Toru placed his hand over the place where he was hit, for some reason he felt an excruciating pain, as if one of his chakra points had been blocked.
(Do I neglect myself?) Toru looked at Hinata with a neutral expression.
(No, she's strong, that's why) Closing his eyes for a few moments, Toru sighed, after all he wasn't fighting with all his strength, that was why he took a hit.
After that, Hinata looked at Toru, the worried expression on her face could be seen clearly.
(I hit him in one of his chakra points, will he be okay...?) Hinata thought while looking at Toru with worry.
After a few seconds Toru's eyes glowed before launching into the attack once again.
*Wind sound*
The blows connected again and again, causing ripples of chakra and wind to spread across the place.
Hinata's great ability to block Toru's quick attacks was impressive, she always felt inferior to anyone, so being able to land a blow on someone as fast and agile as Toru boosted her self-esteem a bit.
(Even though I hit him in one of his chakra points, he's still fighting as if nothing happened).
*Wind sound*
Hinata didn't have enough time to think of something to her advantage, but she still continued to block Toru's punches.
(Hinata's confidence is increased)
As the seconds passed, Toru could notice that Hinata's punches were increasing in strength and her reaction ability was improving.
(I'll try to increase the speed a little more)
While Toru was thinking, Hinata was blocking the attacks.
*Wind sound*
In less than a second, Toru increased the distance between him and Hinata, the two looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds.
Hinata's breathing was starting to become heavy and her chakra drain was increasing, Toru looked at this with a neutral expression.
(The training will end with this)
Toru closed his eyes as he arranged his scarf, after that, the sound of the wind being hit was heard.
Hinata's Byakugan could see Toru approaching from behind, so, resuming her fighting stance Hinata waited for Toru to attack.
(Here he comes)
Hinata turned around and tried to parry the attack, but Toru disappeared in front of her and instantly reappeared behind Hinata's back.
(Huh?)
Covering her face with her arms, Hinata waited for the blow from Toru's side, but....
"Win!"
Toru delivered a gentle blow to Hinata's head.
"What...?"
Hinata was confused, she didn't understand why Toru didn't attack, still, she had managed to block almost all the attacks.
"Training is over" Toru said as he looked at Hinata with his typical poker face.
The demonstration of Hinata's strength so far had done some good, Toru was sure that in the future that girl would improve quite a bit, until then he would just watch.
"But I-"
"Let's go get something to eat, the food we bought earlier must have gone cold by now" Interrupting Hinata, Toru put his hands in his pockets and sighed.
(I lost...) Hinata watched Toru walk away at a slow pace, for a few seconds she looked at the ground with a confused expression.
(He's very strong...) Looking up with a slight smile, Hinata sighed, she knew she was weak, but at least she was sure she could do better.
-Somewhere else-
"Nii-san, Onee-san" Raising her hand, Hanabi spoke, there was a smile on her face.
"Well, we've finished the mission, it's time to go back to Konoha" Yamato said.
At this moment the whole team 11 was present, after all the mission was over.
"Nii-san, will you go to my house when we get back to the village?" Said Hanabi as she climbed on Toru's back, in response Toru just remained silent.
