The last Asura Sovereign

Chapter 8: The Legacy from Well

Looking at the strength of his clan he knew he would be able to cultivate in peace for some time. He breathed sigh of relief. Then he started to organize his memory from the well. There was a lot of information to process and he felt that he couldn’t remember everything he went through. It was as if some of the things he had seen was sealed in his deepest part of memory. From the legacy left by Advaya, there were cultivation techniques, martial arts and other auxiliary arts. But interestingly only the information up to initial level of Golden Core Formation realm was available for him. He knew he has complete inheritance up to peak of this world.

And there was small droplet size of marble that entered into his forehead but he didn’t feel any discomfort. He was only white soul now which means he didn’t have divine sense that can look inside his body. Although there were some specks of violet mixed within white, he only knew he has reached peak of white soul realm equivalent to peak of Qi sensing realm. There was no information about that marble, maybe there was but it was probably among sealed memories. His instinct told him it wasn’t something harmful as the violet specks had increased since last night and he hadn’t even cultivated. This was probably the doing of marble.

Among the inheritances the cultivation technique was called $@#$^@*!* Asura Divine cultivation technique. The first word o that technique was indecipherable. He didn’t know what that meant or what it was pronounced. Every time he wanted to focus on that word he felt suffocation and pressure as if whole world went against him. The best thing about this technique was it consisted of all three systems of cultivation paths not only qi. It was a magical technique without any shortcomings, it was formidable in terms of Qi, body and soul of a cultivator.

As he continued to study the $@#$^@*!* Asura Divine cultivation technique, its complexity and sheer power became more apparent to him. Unlike any other cultivation method he had encountered before, it seamlessly integrated all three cultivation systems—qi, body, and soul—into a single cohesive practice. The potential held within the technique surpassed anything he had even heard of. It was without a doubt best technique he had seen. Even his clan’s Lesser Battle Sutra of Mountain paled in comparison just in terms of Qi and this was the best Qi cultivation technique in whole of Lunaris city.

After thoroughly reading the cultivation technique, although complex he didn’t find it hard to comprehend. It was as if every word of technique was etched into his body and soul. He felt the improvement in his body and knew he was in peak of Qi sensing realm which was 10th stage but strangely it felt as if he could continue to strengthen his cultivation stage without breaking into Foundation Building stage. It was simply unheard of. Even in the story of geniuses there were some who cultivated three paths of cultivation simultaneously and broke through Foundation Building realm but always after 10th stage of Qi sensing realm. There was no 11th stage. The thing that made him even more dumbfounded was it wasn’t only 11th stage he could cultivate to but up to 13th stage. He was already strongest among Qi sensing stage, he didn’t know how strong he would be if he could reach 13th stage. At that time it would probably be piece of cake to defeat initial Foundation Building stage cultivators.

Feeling giddy inside he looked at the martial arts technique he inherited. There were only two techniques he inherited. One was speed type martial arts known as Nine Nether steps. It boasted speed that can reach Nether Realm in a step at peak but he was privy to only two steps. The first step was for short and explosive bursts of speed and second level was for long steps usually for long distance travelling. Both the steps were associated with shadow so they were perfect for assassination. The first step resulted in instantaneous burst of speed meaning one could hide in someone’s shadow and attack them in an instant. It was almost invincible in night provided one has enough energy. The second realm was sort of escape method. One can transfer into shadows if there was shadow within visible range depending on one’s mastery. This was perfect combination for guerilla warfare. Kill someone and flee without anyone knowing.

The second was weapon type, halberd technique. It was unusual type of technique in cultivation world where majority of cultivators were proficient in swords and sabers. The technique was named Heavenly Halberd technique. The name sounded simple but anything with name Heavenly in front of it is anything but simple. There were two moves, Heavenly slash and Heavenly sweep. The names are explanatory themselves, one is in slashing motion and another is sweeping motion. But the dreadful thing about this was how much damage it can cause. The first move, Heavenly slash is aimed to slash everything that comes into it’s path. The first move had 12 variations such that user can slash from every angle and second move had 18 variations where one can sweep in 360 angle without any blind spot.

This is the terror of Heavenly stage martial technique. Just these two moves were enough for someone to be invincible in same realm. The strongest martial technique in Rijal Clan was Black Earth sword skill which was peak Mortal tier martial skill. It was attuned to earth element complementing the main cultivation technique of Rijal Clan. Although there were other martial arts in clan for weapons like saber, spear, broadsword, rods and even knuckles there was none for halberd. It was same situation in other clans, they didn’t have halberd techniques and even if they had it was merely of low grade. It was because mastering halberd technique was harder than spear and other weapons. Not only mastery, the creation of halberd was also harder and tedious. It was simply not worth the time.
