Chapter 27: 27 - Gatling
"How much is the reward on our heads?"
"Harold gave 5 million and the Russian Ross gang gave 10 million. As long as we are caught, the killer can get a total of 15 million USD."
"This is a wave of big loss!"
"What loss?" Frank frowned.
"I'm talking about the commission I accepted. The employer's request was to destroy the drug trade of the Russian Ross gang. I thought it was an ordinary gang deal, but I never expected…this shit. In the end, I offended both the Russian Ross gang and King– Harold."
Derrick said with a somewhat depressed expression, "The most outrageous thing is that the reward for my commission was only a mere 100,000 USD and the reward on my head in exchange for it went in millions?"
Frank looked at Derrick expressionlessly. Although they hadn't been in contact for a long time, he doesn't feel that Derrick has anything to do with the word 'wary'.
Derrick revealed the whole situation to Frank with nothing hidden. To him, a stranger he just met, that too, in a suspicious area.
Ignoring Derrick's ugly face that only cared about money, Frank slowly said, "An important member of the Ross gang in Russia trades drugs with Kingpin's subordinates, but the employer can easily know where they are trading..."
"There was a problem with this commission." After pondering for a moment, Frank suddenly came to an unexpected conclusion.
Hearing this, Derrick was thoughtful, "This commission really is not right. Back then, I had to travel all over New York by car to find a gangster, but this time it was easy to find the place of commission. It was a little too smooth. It feels like someone dug a hole to lure me into it on purpose."
Frank said calmly, "I'm afraid this commission wasn't aimed at you, but just happened to be found by you."
"You mean, someone is using this…?"
Frank nodded and asked, "Who is your employer?"
"I don't know. The employer's information is confidential. Maybe I can find some clues after I go back."
Under Frank's constant reminders, the more Derrick thought about it, the more he felt that this commission was weird. Originally, he just wanted to unlock the achievement, but when he saw that it was a gangster's drug trade, he accepted the commission for a little bit of extra money he might get.
But now he found that this commission seemed to be a deep dark pit, waiting for someone to jump into it.
Derrick was now going to go back and ask Weasel about the commission.
Speaking of this, Derrick looked at Frank and asked, "By the way, why did you come there?"
Frank was silent and did not answer Derrick's question. Derrick immediately became unhappy.
"This is a bit bad, old man. I answered everything you asked, but you don't even answer such a normal question. I thought we were comrades and I even saved your life."
Frank was silent for a while and finally said, "Kaqi was my target, but you killed him."
It was a coincidence indeed. Derrick was commissioned to be there and Frank too had his own goals tonight.
That is to kill Kaqi, the leader of the drug trafficking organization.
If Derrick didn't show up tonight, Frank would have still taken action to turn Kaqi's body cold. With his style, he would definitely not let go of the other gangsters either and the ending would probably be no different from now. Even without Derrick's help, Frank would've been able to survive somehow with just some more injuries.
"I see." Derrick nodded.
"By the way, I still don't know your name. My name is Derrick, and I'm…an ordinary migrant worker."
"Frank."
Frank replied coldly, "I've answered your questions. You should leave now. You'd better find a place where no one will find you and hide."
"Why hide?"
"Did you not understand what I just told you? Rewards have been offered to our heads. As long as you show your face in the open, they will find you again soon."
Derrick touched his face and asked, "Are you sure they can recognize me?"
"..."
Frank was speechless. For most Westerners, Asian faces were hard to distinguish.
If two Asians were not put together, the difference in their appearance was unrecognizable. This was a natural camouflage and a genetic advantage he had.
"Besides, wasn't there a reward for your head too? Are you planning to hide?"
"It's better for them to find me so that I don't need to waste my time looking for them," Frank said coldly, if he was afraid of being exposed, he would not go to fight criminals with nothing to disguise himself.
Feeling the strong killing intent Frank was emanating, Derrick knew that he was worrying over nothing.
'This man probably wishes that the criminals would come to his door by himself. After all, he's the one who knocks in the end…' Derrick thought.
He then stood up, found a pen and paper and wrote down a number, "All right. If you need any help, just call me."
After speaking, Derrick left the room.
Before leaving, he took a reluctant look at Gatling.
Seeing that Frank was vigilant, he was afraid that this guy would suddenly run out with Gatling in his arms if he tried to take it...which was his original intention.

E/N: I swear, I'm not racist. I am an Asian myself. I hope no one else takes any offence either. I just changed the jokes to not be…racist. Happy reading, have a nice day/night.
