The Greece Antagonist

Chapter 139: A World Where Only Poseidon Is Injured (Daily Goal of 12,000 Words Achieved)_2

The Hundred-Armed Giants, referred to in the "Divine Chronicle" as "Alodites" (commonly spoken of as "Hecatoncheires").

According to records, the Hundred-Armed Giants are the children of the Earth Mother Goddess Gaea, three in total, named Briareus, Cottus, and Gyes. They were all immense and ferocious monsters, even larger than the Titan gods and the Cyclopes.

So formidable that even Uranus and the twelve Titans feared them.

In the War of the Titans, Zeus, seeking to strengthen his forces, went to Tartarus and released these three immensely powerful Hundred-Armed Giants, who were willing to serve Zeus. During the battle, the Hundred-Armed Giants could hurl a hundred rocks as large as mountains at a time, making them irresistible to the Titan gods.

Ultimately, with the aid of the Hundred-Armed Giants, Zeus managed to establish a new order in Olympus.

The three Hundred-Armed Giants also became the famed attendants of the Divine King, protecting Zeus's throne and warding off all external challenges.

But now, the King of Olympus, in his fury, had sent these three monsters into the sea, directly obliterating Atlantis.

Them...

The thunderous giant in the sky cast a glance at the silent sea gods, then looked toward the three Hundred-Armed Giants standing erect on the sea surface and commanded in a deep voice.

"From today forward, you shall stand guard over the Sea of Okeanos, forbidding all transgressions!"

"By your command, my king!"

Instantly, the three Hundred-Armed Giants let out a thunderous roar in unison and submerged into the deep sea.

To remain here permanently?

Hearing this, the gods of the sea couldn't help but repeatedly lament within their hearts.

After all, anyone who sees these three behemoths blocking their doorstep would feel uneasy even in slumber.

But ultimately it was their own fault. It was already a stroke of luck that His Majesty the King of Gods didn't handle them as he had the Atlanteans, one by one. The sea deities, whose faults had been laid bare and grasped tightly, dared not question it and could only swallow the bitter pill in silence, recognizing the fact that from now on, the divine authority over the oceans had been suppressed and limited.

However, not everyone was willing to bow their heads.

"Zeus!!!"

Over the sea, Poseidon, who had been battered repeatedly, with his hair disheveled, let out a furious roar at the Thunderer in the sky, his voice piercingly shrill due to its high pitch.

At this moment, the Sea King, no matter how foolish, understood that what he considered "indulgence" and "acquiescence" was just wishful thinking on his part.

From the beginning, his dear brother never intended to spare the trump card he had worked hard to collect.

Zeus not only sought to teach the Minosians, who worshipped the Mother Goddess, a lesson through his hand but also to clear out the Atlantean army from his hands by using the pretext of harming life.

"You object?"

The Thunderer in the sky looked down at the ruler of the sea, his gaze indifferent.

"Seven days from now, I will convene a divine council at the Great Temple of Olympus, Poseidon. If you are dissatisfied with my judgment, you are welcome to appeal!"

Following that, the giant turned his head to gaze at his daughter on the sea surface, her expression grief-stricken and her complexion pallid. His face instantly softened, and his voice became soothing yet resolute.

"Athena, come as well. Don't be afraid; I will surely seek justice for you and your people!"

"Father God..."

Hearing that firm assurance, the Goddess of Wisdom, who had suffered a great change, was too aggrieved to speak, and could only nod vigorously at the sky with tear-filled eyes.

At that moment, Luo En, as an observer, felt a sourness in his stomach upon witnessing this demonstration of fatherly love and filial piety.

However, before he had time to feel sick for long, Zeus, having consoled his daughter with a few words, wrapped up in the storm brought by the Stormbringer, took the first transgressor, Poseidon, back to Olympus, leaving time for both sides to manage the aftermath.

As the oppressive presence dissipated, the sea gods, as though granted a great pardon, transformed into streaks of light and shadow, fleeing from this land of disputes and heading back to their own abodes.

Now that things had escalated, with the King of Gods himself stepping in to arbitrate and with living examples like Crete Island and the Atlanteans before them.

For safety's sake, it was better not to get involved in the family affairs of Olympus.

The sea gods and the Divine Blood clans, upon reaching a consensus, dispersed in no time at all.

And with the departure of Poseidon, their mainstay, Prince Triton and Queen Amphitrite, fearful of retribution, quietly retreated back into the Primordial Ocean along with the receding surge and the larger force.

When all fell silent, Athena immediately composed herself, her gaze sweeping over Crete Island, submerged in the raging waves, and she turned to Luo En behind her, her voice somber.

"What should we do next?"

"The three hundred-armed Giants remained at the Sea of Okeanos, watching over those restless deities of the sea. With them gone, isn't the side of His Majesty the King of Gods left empty? This is far too unsafe..."

Luo En opened his mouth with a smile that was not quite a smile, his eyes deep with meaning.

Athena's heart stirred, her icy gaze turning towards Olympus that was hidden among the stars, subconsciously gripping the spear and shield in her hands, her heart restless.

"Are you saying we should..."

However, Luo En shook his head with a smile, his eyes dark and flickering.

"No, no, this great opportunity should of course be left for His Majesty the Sea King!"

"..."

Athena twitched her mouth, then gave someone a deep look and asked.

"So, whose side are we on?"

Luo En's smile was radiant, as he tossed a bronze badge high into the air, then caught it, his face showing a sincere and innocent expression.

"Of course, we're on the winning side."

"..."

The Goddess of Wisdom at sea, staring at the innocent smile before her, looked for a long, long time.

Finally, after a full quarter of an hour, Athena's tense face thawed, a similar smile painted across it.

"Seven days from now, come with me to Olympus."

"Uh, I am a lesser deity of Lady Hestia..."

Luo En gently reminded, his heart clearly not wanting to follow Athena into these murky waters.

But the sea's Goddess of Wisdom turned back, her face just as innocent and sincere as she spoke.

"Exactly, which is why from now on, you will represent your aunt at the council of divine authority. I've already spoken to her about it."

"...!"

Suddenly, the smile on Luo En's face froze, and he instinctively took a few steps back.

Yet, just as he was about to act, he was grabbed by an ever-smiling Athena.

"No rush, let's take care of business first, and then it won't be too late to go to Olympus."

Immediately after, the Goddess of Wisdom summoned her golden chariot, unceremoniously threw someone into it, cracked the whip, and, with Pegasus cutting through waves, she soared away.

Amidst the chaos, the bronze badge in Luo En's hand fell into the sea, sinking steadily downwards.

Surrounding him lay the Divine Blood Guards of the Minosians, unyielding even in death, with King Minos among them.

This was their battlefield, as well as their final resting place.

"Hum!"

The badge that hit the bottom emitted a light hum, a faint pattern of light flickering.

"Humming incessantly!"

Meanwhile, hundreds of resonant sounds arose, forming a dense field of starlight in the deep sea.

And as their shattered garments were swept away by the waves, identical bronze badges, evidently resting on the chests of those who had gone to their deaths, covered their eyes under the motion of the water.

——In the myths of Ancient Greece, there is a dark river Styx that separates the mortal world from the abyss, and Charon is the ferryman of this river. Any soul that wishes to cross the Styx must bribe him with a coin, which would then allow them to pass safely over the river. Otherwise, he would throw the soul of the deceased into the Styx, where they would suffer tremendously before drifting on their own to hell...

——He and the Death God Thanatos, the Sleep God Hypnos, are all offspring of the Goddess of the Night, Nyx.

——And according to fragments left by Bacchylides, the embodiment of night, Nyx, had a daughter named Hecate.

She was the most revered goddess by Zeus, son of Kronos. Zeus bestowed valuable gifts upon Hecate, allowing her dominion over the land and the barren sea; she also received honors in the starry heavens, deeply respected by the immortal gods.

The son of Kronos never harmed her and did not take anything from her share among the elder Titans. As it was in the beginning, she holds her portion in the earth, the sky, and the sea.

She is the godmother of Queen of the Underworld Persephone, guiding the dead through the night.

——Thus, some say, she is the incarnation of Nyx and the true Queen of the Underworld!
