Chapter 111.1
It was early in the morning when a dim light began to shine in the hallways. Calix opened the door to Asella’s chambers and came out as usual. The knights bowed.
Nowadays, Asella’s guards were on high alert with nothing to do in particular, thanks to their master’s middle-of-the-night visits while the Grand Duchess was asleep.
Moreover, the Grand Duke seemed to be in a very foul mood today. As sinister energy quickly enveloped the hallway, the knights held their breaths in silence.
It seemed that the accident that occurred while the Grand Duchess was riding her horse during the day was to blame.
“Summon Ryzen.”
“Yes, Your Excellency.”
Although it was very early, there was no one who would dare to point out that fact to the Grand Duke. Someone immediately moved to convey the command. Calix walked away without waiting.
After the frenzy had subsided, the knights let out a sigh of relief. They were elite knights who had been trained to endure such situations, but it was still a rough experience that would have caused an ordinary person to faint.
It wasn’t like this just a moment ago when he entered the room. Something had happened inside that made the atmosphere uneasy.
‘Why is he suddenly like this?’
‘What happened?’
However, no one dared to speak. The look on their master’s face was something they had seen on the battlefield years ago. They exchanged glances while bracing themselves, hoping that at least they would not have to see someone’s blood.
They could only speculate that the reason for their master’s anger was definitely related to the Grand Duchess.

Calix’s steps were ferocious as he made his way to his office.
The rough, unrefined energy pulsed through the air around him, but he didn’t mind in the slightest. It was a stark contrast to his earlier appearance when he had carefully restrained his energy, afraid that Asella would wake up.
In an instant, he was in his office, slamming the door roughly behind his back.
‘I’m sorry…’
Calix gritted his teeth at the memory of the voice, which sounded as if it might shatter at any moment.
Asella had another nightmare…
This time, both Philip and Anthony were the subjects of her nightmare. She was drenched in cold sweat. His wife begged and pleaded for forgiveness, imploring them not to hit her, and begging them not to do anything to Mariel.
Unlike the previous times, Asella suffered in agony within the nightmare for a very long time.
If he tried to wake her up even slightly forcefully, she would have been consumed by terror, having a pale face devoid of vitality, she would continuously beg for forgiveness and eventually would cry herself to sleep.
In the end, all Calix could do was hold her in his arms and whisper that everything would be fine.
It was a feeling of helplessness that he had never experienced before.
Asella had fallen into a slumber from exhaustion by the time the first light of dawn appeared. As Calix looked down at his exhausted wife’s face, he felt the surge of murderous intent within him.
