The Grand Duchess Escape

Clearly, Adele’s sassy acting skills were passed down to her second daughter. Either way, things were going much more smoothly thanks to her.

“We’ll need an open field instead. Do you know of a suitable place?” Roshan inquired, and Asella turned to Margo for an answer.

“There’s a grass field behind the castle,” Margo replied.  

Shortly thereafter, they were led to an open vast grass field. As soon as they arrived, Mariel firmly repelled the others, Asella was no exception.

“I’m going to play with the priest! Do not disturb us!”

The distance between them and the rest of the group widened naturally. Once they were far enough away that no one could hear them, Roshan whispered softly to Mariel.

“What powers are you experiencing?”

“Healing, mind reading, and mind control.”

Mariel answered without hesitation. Despite her lack of experience, it was easy for Mariel to recognize Roshan as an ally due to her use of mind-reading abilities.

“I see. Not bad. You managed to recognize them right away. Are you going to decide between them?”

“Uh, no. I want to use magic.”

“You’ll need a little more time.”

“Yeah.”

It took time to experience, choose, and fully awaken potential powers, but until then, she couldn’t make any hasty moves.

“I wish I could awaken my magical abilities sooner rather than later, so I can join the Magic Tower instead of the Academy.”

“Do you really want to join the Magic Tower?”

“Because if I become a mage in the Magic Tower, I will be able to protect my sister.”

After she finished speaking, Mariel looked straight at Roshan. A wicked expression came to the girl’s face.

“But why are you pretending to be a priest?”

“I am a priest.”

“That was a long time ago, and you’re only a priest in name only. If you keep lying to me, I’ll report to the Tower that the former master of the Tower who escaped is here.”

Roshan’s eyes widened. Apparently, the young lady in front of him was more talented than he realized. She could see through things so quickly.

“No one knows my true identity. How did you figure it out?”

“I can tell just by looking at you.”

“In any case, I hope you’ll keep it a secret, young lady.”

“So, when I do awake my magic, you’ll accept me as a mage of the Magic Tower?”

“I’ll make sure to talk to the master of the Tower.”

Thinking that some magic wouldn’t be bad, Roshan glanced at Asella. Mariel followed Roshan’s gaze, and when she spotted her sister, her expression turned serious.

“What about Asella? Is she okay?”

“I don’t know why, but she’s afraid of the Grand Duke… very much so.”

Roshan’s eyes narrowed slightly as if he was assessing something, then asked again.

“What about you?”

Meriel paused, then opened her mouth.

“I saw a golden current.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’m certain.”

As expected. Roshan let out a short sigh, realizing that his guess was correct.

“So what are you going to do now?”

An upright gaze resembling Adele’s stared at Roshan.

“I’ll do whatever my sister wants and follow whatever decision she makes.”

“Despite the fact that you said you saw golden currents coming from the Grand Duke?”

“All that matters to me is my sister, I don’t care what the Grand Duke feels.”

Mariel clenched her fists together, recalling the bruises on Asella’s wrists.

‘Sister didn’t say anything, but…’

It was easy to guess who the culprit was. Considering this, she couldn’t forgive the Grand Duke.

“If my sister doesn’t like him, I’ll help her escape from here, no matter what it takes.”

Mariel and Roshan’s eyes locked.

“So I need you to help me, Roshan, so we can buy time until I awaken.”

“I will.”

“I should probably go now; my sister is waiting for me.”

Mariel winked at Roshan, then hurried over to her sister. The sight of the two silver-haired girls holding hands and walking away looked peaceful and harmonious.

Roshan, who had been watching the scene, sighed softly.

He didn’t know what it was, but it seemed that the Grand Duke seemed to be firmly attached to that lady.
