The Golden Destroyer

Chapter 4: IV

Despite the time that had passed and the entity's apparent silence, the day when golden lightning had ripped through the sky, accompanied by a titanic roar, had left the world in a state of shock. The videos, satellite images, and energy disturbances had triggered a global hunt to identify this new player.

But despite the combined resources of governments, secret organizations, and independent factions, no tangible clues had been found. This silence made everyone more anxious.

Kamar-Taj

The Ancient One, dressed in her simple but imposing attire, wandered through a series of magical portals, her disciples following her at a respectful distance. Each portal led her to a region where cosmic energy had fluctuated during the creature's appearance.

Standing before a desolate expanse marked by lightning strikes fossilized in the ground, she held out her hand. Runes appeared around her as she probed the residual energies.

Wong accompanied her, his expression tense.

"Lightning, an energy signature that doesn't correspond to anything we know," he declared, observing the debris.

The Ancient One did not respond immediately. She closed her eyes, seeking to perceive the reverberations in the very fabric of reality.

"As I have already told you, this is no ordinary creature."

"It's a cosmic anomaly. Something that defies our laws and perhaps those of our universe itself."

Wong frowned. "If it's an anomaly, perhaps it shouldn't exist here. Should we intervene? Neutralizing it now is our best opportunity."

The Ancient One opened her eyes, a flicker of concern in her gaze.

"This entity is still young in its form, like you. With time, you will learn that violence does not solve everything. However, given its potential, we will have to intervene at some point."

Wong nodded. "Should I put our forces on alert to monitor it?"

She made a gesture of stopping. "Not yet. We must understand. Too many hasty actions could lead it to see itself as prey. And a hunted creature often becomes a threat."

"And besides," she added, a sly smile on her lips, "it is making great efforts to understand itself and adapt. I will monitor it personally."

The Hellfire Club

In a secret room, a meeting of the club was being held. Erik Lensherr, aka Magneto, stood at the center, surrounded by his loyal followers. Beside him stood an elegant and imposing woman with black hair and abyssal black eyes: Selene, a powerful sorceress and telepath.

"This entity that the world is hunting is more than just a phenomenon," Erik began, his tone grave. "It's a raw force, an immense power. And if we can bring it to our cause, we could reshape this world."

A murmur ran through the assembly, but Selene intervened to calm the growing enthusiasm.

"Or we could cause its destruction. Erik, you always want to control forces that you understand nothing about their nature."

At this jab, Magneto turned to her, his eyes gleaming with barely controlled fury.

"Oh, powerful and wise Selene! Enlighten us with your light."

With an arrogant smile, she turned to the audience.

"From what I have sensed, from my research, it is a being that is not of our world. I have walked this earth long enough to know every being worthy of interest. And also, it has something primordial, conceptual about it."

"If you intend to approach it with your carrot-and-stick method," she continued, a mocking smile directed at Magneto, "I wouldn't bet much on you and your brotherhood."

Seeing that things were about to get out of hand, Shaw, who until then had been content to listen, intervened to cut short any conflict.

"If it's so powerful, why not simply eliminate it before it becomes a threat?"

Selene burst out at the statement.

"Eliminate a force of nature? Shaw, sometimes you surprise me with your naivety. If we cannot use it, then yes, we will have to fight it. But not before understanding what it is."

Not at all perturbed by the jab, Shaw comfortably crossed his legs, his head resting on his fist.

"And if it refuses to submit?"

Selene did not respond immediately. Her gaze twisted into a mask of madness.

"Then it will discover that even a storm can be stopped. I have seen and killed terrors in my 17,000 years."

Asgard

In the great hall of Asgard, Thor and Odin were engaged in a heated discussion. The passing servants and soldiers tried not to attract attention.

"Father, we cannot simply ignore this!" thundered Thor, brandishing his hammer. "This thing represents a potential threat to all the realms."

Odin, sitting on his throne, his gaze impassive, replied calmly but firmly.

"We will not intervene. This is not our fight, Thor."

Thor stepped forward, his expression filled with anger.

"Not our fight?" How many times have you said that, only for Midgard to suffer? I will not stand idly by while this… thing… could destroy everything we have sworn to protect!"

Odin straightened up, his voice thundering like thunder.

"Silence! Do you think I do not understand the danger? That I do not know the desires that drive it? Since when has the fate of Midgard mattered so much to you? This being is certainly powerful, but not enough to require our intervention. And you, with your impulsiveness, could well trigger its wrath before even understanding its motivations."

Thor gritted his teeth.

"Then what do we do? We wait for it to destroy Midgard before acting?"

Odin sighed, his features marked by age and wisdom.

"If it crosses a line, which I reserve the right to define, then we will intervene. But for now, we will observe. Haste is the path to ruin."

Thor remained silent for a moment, then turned on his heel and left the hall. But in his mind, he knew that sooner or later, the creature would show its perfidy. His faithful Mjolnir would be there to split its skull.

Hydra

In an underground laboratory, Baron Wolfgang von Strucker observed the blurry images of the golden creature. Beside him, several scientists were bent over complex instruments.

"A brute force, unpredictable," he murmured, his gaze cold. "A true wild card in a world where the cards are already too well dealt."

One of the scientists cleared his throat nervously.

"Baron, we have tried to analyze the energy traces, but they do not correspond to anything we know. Even our most advanced weapons could be useless against such an entity."

Strucker gave a glacial smile.

"We do not want to destroy this creature, Doctor. We want to understand it, capture it… and control it. Imagine what Hydra could accomplish with such a force at our disposal."

The scientist hesitated.

"But if we fail? Such an attempt could provoke a… catastrophic reaction."

Strucker placed a heavy hand on the scientist's shoulder, his smile turning into a mask of menace.

"Then do not fail."

Nathaniel Essex

In a complex hidden deep in Siberia, Nathaniel Essex, better known as Mister Sinister, worked in his laboratory. The walls were covered with screens showing images of the golden creature.

Sinister had always been fascinated by evolution and genetic anomalies. But this entity surpassed everything he had studied.

"A primordial force, unparalleled potential," he murmured, analyzing data.

One of his assistants, a woman with white hair, approached hesitantly.

"Doctor Essex, the calculations indicate that this creature is not simply a mutation. It could well be of extra-dimensional origin."

Sinister raised his eyes, a carnivorous smile stretching his lips.

"Extra-dimensional, perhaps. But it has taken root here. And that means it is vulnerable to the laws of this world."

He straightened up, his eyes gleaming with determination.

"Find it. If I can understand what it is, I may be able to transcend the very limits of evolution."

The assistant hesitated before asking:

"And if it is an uncontrollable threat?"

Sinister burst into a cold laugh.

"Everything can be controlled. With the right approach."

He turned to a screen showing a map of the planet.

"It is there, somewhere. And I will be the first to unlock its mysteries."
