The Goddess Needs A Break!

Chapter 91 – New Everything

As Takei woke up in his bed the very next day after the event that would forever change his life, he realized that everything in his surroundings felt slightly more vibrant.

Instead of the dull monotone colors that he saw everyday, Takei's vision now had a cherry-colored hue covering everything that came into sight.

"Is this how married men feel?"

Takei mumbled to himself as he saw the new world that was blessing his vision.

Starting off the day with a chipper attitude, Takei quickly got ready and entered the kitchen while whistling a happy tune.

"It looks like everything went well."

Airi was sitting at the dining table eating a plate of eggs and bacon while reading a manga on her phone.

She didn't know about what happened last night since Takei ended up coming home last night at a very late hour.

As a matter of fact, his parents also didn't know what had transpired after the events of last night.

"Yeah, we're dating now. Thank you for all the help."

"Mmm, no problem."

Takei told Airi about the changed status quo and thanked her for everything that she had done for them.

Airi then accepted the gratitude wholeheartedly, and then went back to eating her breakfast.

At that very moment, the two missing people of the household entered the kitchen.

"Ah, congrats. I heard about the news."

"I have another daughter now, time to spoil her rotten~"

Yuuto and Flora entered the room with big smiles on their faces.

They both looked extremely happy for their son who had finally gotten what he wanted so bad.

"Thank you, Mom, Dad. You've been a big help."

To make sure that he thanked all the people involved, Takei made sure that his parents were one of the first that he thanked.

"Aw shucks, you're making dear old dad blush."

"Mom loves honest children, you know?"

As expected, the sporadic couple responded to his honest gratitude with some weird remarks.

Slightly chuckling at his parents, Takei went to the stove to cook up some eggs for breakfast before he went to school.

Well, he was going to until the front door of his house suddenly opened with a loud bang.

"Oh no you don't!"

Akari rushed in and stopped Takei from making his food.

She looked at him seriously with a stern stare and slowly pulled his hands away from the stove.

"This is my job as the newlywed wife. I enjoy doing it, so please don't take this away from me..."

Akari begged him with pleading eyes to not take away one of her forms of enjoyment.

Looking around the room, Takei noticed that everyone was intently staring at him.

The expression on their faces was saying something along the lines of, "don't be a monster."

Seeing the determined look on Akari's face as well as the pressure emitted by his face, Takei had no choice but to accept.

"Alright, I'm sorry. I'll sit down right away."

"Thank you."

Takei then sat down at one of the chairs at the dinner table, while Akari put on an apron and started cooking for him.

Flora and Yuuto were giving him a satisfied look, so Takei clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"We're off then."

"We'll be back soon!"

Behind them, Yuuto and Flora were wheeling their suitcases.

"Take care."

Takei responded to them with an indifferent tone, although his parents knew that this was his way of a heartfelt goodbye.

"Bring me something back!"

Airi, on the other hand, was excited to get her hands on some new anime merch.

"I'll do my best to live up to the Tanaka name!"

Unsurprisingly, Akari was already working hard to become the ideal daughter-in-law to them.

""See you soon!""

With those final words, Yuuto and Flora left the house and entrusted it to their children.

After they left, Airi quickly finished up her breakfast and decided to go to school early today.

The reason being that she didn't want to be anywhere near the encroaching new and improved strawberry aura.

Now, it was only Takei and Akari left in the big house that was known as the Tanaka household.

Akari promptly finished cooking the breakfast and placed the plate of eggs and bacon in front of him.

"Bon appétit!"

Looking at Akari's proud expression made Takei laugh a bit at her childishness that she sometimes exuded.

Most of the time, Akari would give off an adult vibe and be extremely mature.

However, Takei alone got to see her childish side that would sometimes appear.

Hearing Takei's laughter, Akari looked a bit miffed.

"I feel like I'm being made fun of?"

She pouted once she realized that Takei was laughing at her.

As per usual, her cheeks inflated and reminded Takei of a cute little squirrel.

At the sight of this cute creature, Takei reached out and started pulling her cheeks and playing with them.

"Fuehhh..."

Akari was having trouble reacting to Takei's sudden attack and couldn't form a coherent sentence as a result.

After enjoying her cheeks for an extended amount of time, Takei finally let go once he was satisfied.

"..."

The goddess looked less than amused about his behavior.

There was a still silence that lingered in the air as a result.

"This'll be my revenge."

Out of nowhere, Akari declared her act of vengeance and leaped towards him.

Seating herself on his lap, Akari began pulling on his cheeks.

Even though she did this herself, there was a complicated expression on her face.

Akari looked half-happy and half-embarrassed to be doing such an act.

Although, it looked like the happiness eventually won out.

Takei was surprised to see this as her act of revenge, since it wasn't malicious in any war or form.

It just felt like something Akari would do normally.

"Is a guy's cheeks even that fun to play with?"

"Definitely, without a doubt."

Once Takei asked Akari about her interest in his hair, she responded with no shame at all.

Since he had done it to her initially, Takei just let Akari do whatever she wanted.

In the end, he was no more than her apostle trying to fulfill her every whim.

Or rather, that was his initial role.

Now, he had the role of standing side-by-side with the goddess.

If someone asked Takei if he enjoyed his current life, then his answer would undoubtedly be...

"I love it... I love everything."
