Chapter 52
After returning to the dormitory, Thorne packed his luggage. All his roommates had left, and he felt lonely staying alone in the dormitory.
....................
"Dumbledore! I'm back!" Thorne pushed open the door of the principal's office with a pile of luggage floating behind him.
"It looks like you've recovered well." Dumbledore smiled at Thorne and said.
"You've recovered well. I'm back to stay with you. I'm afraid you'll be lonely!" He threw his luggage into his bedroom and said.
"Well... I think it's more like you're afraid of being alone." Dumbledore said with a smile.
"Don't worry about it. What do you have today?" Thorne asked, lying on the sofa loosely as if he had returned to his own home.
"I don't have anything to do, but you do." Dumbledore said faintly.
"Ah?"
"Don't worry. For more than a year since you started school, old Malfoy and Narcissa may have thought that I had you under house arrest. They sent me a letter on average every week, asking me to let you go to them freely. After all, they are your only free relatives." Dumbledore bent down and took out a box of letters from behind the desk, saying bitterly.
"Uh uh uh... do they have any other thoughts?" Thorne asked.
"I don't think so. People in the Black family dare to love and hate. As your aunt, Narcissa Malfoy's feelings for you will not be mixed with other things." Dumbledore explained.
"Then old Malfoy... my uncle?" Thorne asked.
"Old Malfoy listens to Narcissa... don't pay too much attention to him." Dumbledore said.
"Oh, he is a henpecked man, right?" Thorne said clearly.
"That's understandable. So when do you plan to leave?" Dumbledore asked.
"Well..............To be honest, I hope they approach me with a purpose."
"Why?" Dumbledore asked in surprise.
"Because if they approach me with a purpose, I won't invest my feelings in them. In this way, whether I turn against them or directly draw my wand to hurt people in the future, I will not hesitate at all. But this kind of pure emotion without other things............." Thorne said hesitantly.
"........What are you afraid of?" Dumbledore patted Thorne's shoulder and asked softly.
"I'm afraid? What am I afraid of? I just don't know how to.........how to deal with this kind of emotion. An elder who suddenly appeared and treated me well......I don't know how to repay them." Thorne lowered his head and said helplessly.
"People who are really good to you will not ask you to repay them. You don't have to worry about this kind of thing." Dumbledore comforted.
"I don't think so." Thorne shook his head.
"I understand.....You are not unable to deal with these feelings, you are afraid.....You are inferior." Dumbledore's expression suddenly became clear.
"What?"
"You are feeling inferior. You think you don't deserve the unconditional love of others. So every time I ask you to do something that is too much and beyond the scope, you agree to it even though you are not forgiving."
"And Mr. Malfoy, you don't agree with his bullying attitude towards other students, but you only conflict with him in insignificant places. Even if the consequences of this conflict are very serious, it will not damage the foundation of your friendship."
"You think you don't deserve the unconditional love of others, so your relationship with others is so weird, like a transaction. Your transaction experience is that I have invested my feelings in you, and you feel sorry for it, so you will do anything to help me do anything."
"Or is it because of your childhood that you stand behind Malfoy unconditionally and without bottom line to help him? This weird inferiority complex?" Dumbledore asked.
"I don't think I am inferior." Thorne shook his head.
"Inferiority complex in character is different from inferiority complex in emotion... Maybe it would be better to go to Malfoy Manor and get along with your aunts and uncles this time... Although I don't agree with the Malfoy family in terms of stance, it is undeniable that Malfoy Manor is surprisingly full of love." Dumbledore explained.
"They... I still don't know how to face them." Thorne shook his head.
"Just be normal and treat their love for you asAs it should be." Dumbledore said.
"I can't do it." Thorne shook his head.
"You deserve it, everyone in the world deserves to be loved unconditionally, why can't you?" Dumbledore asked back.
"I didn't do anything."
"Love is illogical."
"But I have to be logical."
Flutter!
Just when the conversation between the two was dull, an owl flew in from the window and brought a letter.
"Look, this is another letter from Narcissa Malfoy. She is really well-mannered. I received letters for a whole semester, and there is not a single howler letter." Dumbledore sighed and opened the envelope, looking at the sharp words inside and said helplessly.
.....................
"Just like that, I'm here." Thorne said while sitting on the windowsill in Draco's bedroom.
"I can't believe... someone like you would feel inferior? "Draco touched his hairless chin and muttered to himself.
"I sit here and confess my feelings to you so that you can comfort me, not so that you can mock me." Thorne said faintly while sitting on the windowsill and swinging his feet.
"Sorry, sorry, this is a habit." Draco smiled.
Not long after, a bell rang to inform the two of the arrival of dinner time.
The two walked out of the bedroom and came to the dining room, and old Malfoy and Narcissa had already sat at the dining table.
When Thorne sat on the chair, the air became a little quiet for a while.
Thorne didn't know what to say to his aunt and uncle, and Narcissa was the same, not knowing how to start a topic with her nephew.
For a moment, both of them regretted that perhaps this meal was eaten too hastily, and the house elves should be allowed to prepare for a while.
"What should I say?" Narcissa whispered to the old Malfoy who was good at dancing with long sleeves beside him.
"What should I say? "Thorne asked in a low voice to the talkative little Malfoy beside him.
