Chapter 24: Do You Want To?
Luo ZhouZhou did not sleep peacefully; he frowned and mumbled from time to time.
Chu Feng concentrated on figuring out some words, like, “Butler Li wants to burn me and flush me down the drain.”
He leaned back on the couch and closed his eyes, listening to the ravings with a smile on his lips.
Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.
In the quiet room, the terminal sounded. Chu Feng looked to Luo ZhouZhou's exposed wrist outside the blanket, where the screen had automatically popped up, indicating that it was General Luo Pei.
He hesitated for only a few seconds before he connected the terminal, and Luo Pei's angry, middle-aged roar immediately resounded through the room, "Luo ZhouZhou! You have half an hour to get home, no matter you are, come home right now! Now!"
Luo ZhouZhou was now shivering even in his sleep at the sound of this familiar growl.
Chu Feng switched to a single answer mode.
"Hello General Luo, Zhou Zhou is asleep at my place, I'll send him back when he wakes up." He replied curtly.
Luo Pei's sustained roar came to an abrupt end. After a few moments of silence, he probed incredulously, "Chu Feng?"
"Yes. Zhou Zhou is safe, General Luo, don't worry, I'll send him back later." As soon as the conversation ended, Chu Feng simply hung up the call and turned off the terminal.
In his confusion, Luo ZhouZhou felt someone gently patting his cheek, "Zhou Zhou, it's time to wake up."
He impatiently pushed the hand away and rolled over to go back to sleep.
"If you keep sleeping like this, General Luo will come for me with a gun." Chu Feng sighed helplessly, pinched his nose, and carried him across the room with the blanket.
Luo ZhouZhou continued to sleep soundly without feeling anything, allowing Chu Feng to carry him out of the room and through the passageway. Because it was late at night, there were not many people in the lobby of the police station, only a dozen or so police officers were left working and chatting.
"Hey, do you think General Chu is… now?" said a police officer, wiggling his eyebrows.
Another cop smiled knowingly and said, "It's been a long time, General Chu is a top Alpha."
The group laughed, with a few of the young Alpha's laughing particularly loudly.
"I say you should stop it, Zhou Zhou and General Chu have both been injected with inhibitors, so don't talk nonsense." Jenny said loudly from her coffee cup. As soon as her voice trailed off, she saw Chu Feng walk into the lobby through the side door. He had a heavy face and a blanket-wrapped man in his arms.
Several police officers, like ducks with their throats caught in a chokehold, broke off their laughter abruptly.
"General Chu."
"Hello, General Chu."
Chu Feng walked out without any haste, and said without turning his head, "Half a month's salary will be deducted from each of you for joking and chatting during duty hours. Jenny, remember to tell Chen SiHan tomorrow." Another pause, "Your work ethic is fine, so don't take any deductions."
Jenny shouted back, "Yes, sir."
The rest of the police officers were flabbergasted and frozen in place.
At the parking lot, Chu Feng opened the car door and carefully placed the man in the back seat. As soon as he put him down, Luo ZhouZhou doubled over and almost fell off, but he caught him with his fast hands.
"You're not even a good sleeper." He stretched out his finger, and flicked Luo ZhouZhou on the forehead. Then he rolled him halfway around and wrapped the blanket securely around him, like a chrysalis.
Luo ZhouZhou tried to roll over again, squirmed twice, couldn't turn over, grunted twice in dissatisfaction, and gave up.
The military SUV drove out of the Bayard Police Station, passed through a checkpoint, and arrived at Aleisha. It slowed to a stop in front of the General's villa and turned off the engine.
Luo Pei, who had not even changed out of his military uniform, paced back and forth anxiously on the villa steps while Linda and Butler Li stood quietly by. Hearing a car noise, all three of them looked over and saw Chu Feng getting out of the car with Luo ZhouZhou in his arms.
"What's going on?" Luo Pei shouted, stepped down from the stairs in shock and anger, and strode over.
Butler Li and Linda followed closely behind him.
Luo ZhouZhou was sleeping soundly in Chu Feng's arms, his face steamed red from the heat of the car, his mouth slightly open, and a slight snoring sound could be heard.
When Luo Pei approached and saw him like this, he was first relieved and then asked in a stern voice, "What happened to him?"
After a moment of silence, Chu Feng said, "He went into heat at the police station today."
Luo Pei's mouth opened and closed, closed and opened again. Seeing his son still in Chu Feng's arms, he snatched him up and asked, "Is he okay then?"
"He’s fine." Chu Feng said.
Luo Pei's face eased just a bit, and then felt something was wrong in an instant. He twitched his nose and sniffed Luo ZhouZhou's body, all the way to the side of his neck. With a trembling hand, he lifted Luo ZhouZhou's head, exposing the soft back of his neck to the streetlight.
A deep bite mark was clearly there, with a little redness and swelling around it.
"I was forced to make a temporary mark," Chu Feng said sincerely and innocently.
Luo Pei was silent for a moment and handed Luo ZhouZhou to Butler Li beside him. When Butler Li took the Omega carefully, he took two steps forward and, to the sound of Linda's screams, threw a punch that hit Chu Feng right in the face.
When Luo ZhouZhou woke up at dawn and he was sleeping in his bed at home when he heard the sound of the gardener using the lawn mower. He tried to sit up, but when he did, his body was sore and weak and his head throbbed. He wandered to the bathroom, stripped out of his loose silk pajamas, and turned on the shower head.
With the hot water rushing down his body, the soreness and headache lessened considerably, and he turned his head back and closed his eyes, having a momentary lapse into a trance.
The last thing he remembered was yesterday evening, sitting on the couch in the Bayard Sheriff's office, watching Chu Feng and Chen SiHan discuss the case.
But what happened after that?
He reached out and squeezed a dollop of shower gel onto his body, trying to remember.
It was followed by the smell of Chen SiHan, which made him want to bite him uncontrollably.
Luo ZhouZhou's smearing hand stopped and tensed up.
Did I bite him?
No, I didn't bite, I just sat there and didn't move.
He went down memory lane, but he couldn't remember. The memory was like a fragment, broken and disconnected. But he remembered what it felt like to die, too intense to be a first embrace reaction.
The shower ball grazed the back of his neck, and he frowned with a hiss. He felt it with his hand, and it was uneven. He pulled over the small round mirror so he could check, turned his back, and found a red swelling on the back of his neck, with a few teeth marks on it.
Luo ZhouZhou was familiar with the shape and was sure that it was a bite mark.
It was not deep, but the skin was punctured and crusted with blood, covered with a thin layer of paste, as if it had been treated with medicine. It was bitten by someone, and it was a human tooth mark.
Luo ZhouZhou took a closer look and opened his mouth to reveal his teeth for comparison.
Had he met another vampire? But the bite was on the back of the neck, and the skin was intact at the location of the blood vessels on the side of the neck, with no trace of anything else.
After taking a puzzling shower and changing into clean pajamas, he wiped his hair and walked out of the bathroom, and was shocked when he stepped outside.
Linda had entered the room at some point and was sitting on the couch with a tray of food on the round table. When she saw Luo ZhouZhou, she squeezed out a smile, "Baby, it's time for breakfast."
The area around her eyes was red and puffy, as if she had cried, and Luo ZhouZhou hurried to the bathroom and said, "I'll change clothes.”
Wearing only a nightgown in front of a woman was a very rude thing to do.
Linda, however, said with some aggravation, "You are my son, and I changed your pajamas last night.”
Luo ZhouZhou stopped and remained silent for a few seconds, thinking that he could put Linda out of the category of ladies who avoid suspicion anyway.
"Thank you." He did not insist on changing his clothes anymore and sat down at the table. Sipping his milk, he wanted to ask several times how he had gotten home yesterday, but he was so guilty that he didn't say anything for fear of being pressed for the details.
Instead, Linda looked at him like she had something to say.
Luo ZhouZhou absentmindedly checked his terminal, the time was 7:00 a.m. sharp, and there was an unread message.
"Zhou Zhou, it's all mom's fault for not instructing you to carry a suppressant with you." Linda wrung her hands a little nervously and finally spoke.
Inhibitor, inhibitor… Luo ZhouZhou tilted his head, feeling the word inhibitor keep appearing in the images of yesterday's shattered memories.
"Don't be sad, baby, the temporary mark Chu Feng made for you will disappear soon and will have no effect."
Something flickered in Luo ZhouZhou's brain, and he caught it instantly.
Chu Feng made a temporary mark on me.
Temporary mark…
Teeth mark…
Several key points of memory pieces were instantly connected, images formed fragments, and Chu Feng's gentle voice rang in his ears.
"Zhou Zhou, I want to mark you temporarily. Is that okay?"
"Yes."
