Chapter 113: [Harbinger of Destruction!]
5th day of the Tutorial]
"Hmmmm. I guess I can even steal a monster's Skill huh?" Adrian smiled as he looked at his skill [All for One] working on monsters. With this, increasing his [Gift]'s grade became a tad bit easier.
Since he had all the monsters' information from the Two Gods, he was able to locate them, steal their skills and then destroy them for GM Points and skills. Then, he turned those skill cards into skill points before creating a random C-Grade skill, upgrading them to B-Grade with those points, before destroying them as well.
It was fine as long as he needed to destroy B-Grade Skills/Items, but when the grade was upped to [Upper Mortal Grade - 3!] He then needed 10-A Grade items/skills.
Even though there were some elite B-Grade monsters with A-Grade skills, it was easier said than done to fight with them. Despite having all those skills and powers, Adrian's fighting limit was somewhere between B-Grade and A-Grade.
Monsters that were nearing A-Grade were harder to handle, difficult to fight against and more especially much more intelligent than others, hence making them harder to kill.
So at the end of day 5, Adrian's [Gift] Growth was halted to [Upper Mortal Grade -3]
[Day 9th of the Tutorial 4!]
Because Annabeth resumed her hunt in the higher floors, the GM Points once again began pouring in, allowing Adam to spear a couple of them on his Gift, letting him to up his [Gift] by another Grade.
Since more than a week has passed, Adrian now was looking for another candidate that he can give his contract to. Someone who was near to the higher floors, and was actively killing monsters and stuff.
Hence, half of the attention that Adrian had was on Annabeth and the people around her. Though even after keeping an eye on her for a few days, there wasn't even a single person that Adrian felt fine enough to be given a contract to.
-Whoosh!
-Whoosh!
And since Adrian didn't have anything particular to do, he began hunting more monsters around, trying to create an A-Grade skill card using the skill points he was collecting. Since the system considered the cards as [Items], it was easier to destroy them while taking their effects.
Even though it was impossible, Adrian still tried to map the entire world in the tutorial. According to his calculations it should take about 5 more days before the invasion from the other world will begin, marking the start of the next phase of the quests.
Plus, given he was already running around without any proper direction, he was also keeping an eye on a certain quest of his.
[Quest: An Angel's Request!
Difficult: Insane!
Description: You have saved the saintesses and heard their request. They want you to find their families and friends, and bring them to safety. It is the last wish of the ghost saintess, and they cannot attain afterlife until their unresolved conflicts are solved.
Objective: Find the family/friends of the Saintesses!
Reward: [Blessing: Silver Lining (S)]
"It's gonna take some time," Adrian mumbled before running even faster than before.
-Whoosh!
-Whoosh!
There was no bar to tell how much of the planet was covered, but looking at how the previously flat map was slowly turning into a globe, Adrian was more or less 10% done with mapping the world. It was partly because of his high speed, plus he wasn't stopping even once during his expedition.
Though, on the other hand, he has given up trying to map this entire world now. He was simply trying to increase the grade of his second gift by another minor grade. As for the last part, he might need to buy things from the safe zone later on.
-Whoosh!
-Whoosh!
[13th Day of the Tutorial!]
Mostly done, running around the world, Adrian felt a bit bitter about his time in this tutorial this time. There were multiple reasons for that…
Firstly, he wasn't able to even reach [Upper Mortal Grade], forget about [Heaven's Grade!] with his gift [Cartography!]. Then his second [Gift], barely reached [Upper Mortal Grade-2]. Finally, the quest that he was trying to complete regarding those saintesses, was still incomplete.
At the end of the day, he sighed as he looked at the GM Points he had collected throughout his journey.
[GM Points: 3 Billion 731 Million]
It seemed like a lot, but to be fair most of it came from Annabeth, who was on a hunt, killing multiple A-Grade foes at once. She was powerful enough to take care of hundreds of monsters at once without any problem, and that was only increasing as she was climbing up the tower.
"All right. Since the direct way won't work, let's skip some steps," Adrian mumbled as he then checked something.
[Would you like to upgrade [Gift: Cartography] by one Grade, making it reach [Upper Mortal Grade - 0] for 700 Million GM Points?]
It was costly. Despite being only an Upper mortal Grade, it was rather costly… though it only made Adrian anticipate more from this gift. Clicking [Yes], he upgraded it with a smile before moving towards the other [Gift], [Destruction!].
[Would you like to upgrade [Gift: Destruction] by two minor grades to, [Upper Mortal Grade - 0], for 2 Billion and 700 Million Points?]
It was costly too, but somehow the total cost came out lesser than what it would have cost to create and destroy those A-Grade items. I guess, it took into consideration that I can get A-Grade items and skills through other sources as well? Probably…
As for the reason for why I didn't get it to [Heaven's Grade], directly was because I had already saved up an S-Grade skill card that would allow me to get the next major grade easily. No need to waste more GM Points, do we?
[Experience Required to Upgrade to the next Grade: Destroy an S-Grade item or skill using only Energy!]
The condition was seemingly easy, as I poured a huge amount of energy into the skill card before it broke down into pieces. Honestly it was easier said than done as it took more than half of my energy reserve that I had. Anyways, it wasn't out of reach as the card disappeared before I received a bunch of its effects and stats.
[Your Gift [Destruction] has been evolved into [Harbinger of Destruction!]]
And now that I was mostly set with everything, I took a look at the new Gifts that I had.
[Gift: Cartography!
Grade: Upper Mortal Grade - 10
Experience Required to Upgrade to next Grade: Map 3 Worlds/Floors minimum 50% each!
Effects:
-Allows the user to see real-time information of everything that he has mapped!

[Teleportation Points: Allows the user to set permanent Teleportation Points, to where he can instantly teleport to. (Current Limit: 1)]
[Skill: Cartographer's Vision!
Grade: S (Linked with Cartography)
Effects: Allows the user to Map anything around 100 Kilometers around! Everything that the user has mapped, can be recorded upto 24 hours, and the previous events can be played as per the user's wish!
Additional Effect: The Skill can show its effect even by the area mapped by the Marked Target!]
'Hmmm. It does make things easier for me in many ways, but it's nothing game changing compared to the previous effects. I guess teleportation points can be helpful in various situations but if I only have one…. Doesn't really do much in the end,' I thought as I guess it's good in its own way?
But I was a bit sad because despite being an S-Grade skill, it was a lackluster compared to the others I had. Though the recording feature was nice. Hmmm… another reason I was sad was because I wanted to unlock at least one [Creation] function… though I guess it's too early for that, huh?
"Well. At least I can expect something from a [Heaven's Grade]?" I thought as I looked at the other [Gift] that I had right now.
[Gift: Harbinger of Destruction!
Grade: Heaven's Grade - 10
Experience Required to reach the next Grade: Destroy a sentient being!
Effects:
-For everything the user destroys, he gains 10% of its total stats, 5% of its permanent energy, and gains one of its skills randomly!
-Skill Unlocked: Devourer!]
[Skill: Devourer!
Grade: SS
Effects: Allows the user to destroy and take anything as its own! The User can store upto 2 Skills that he has devoured!
Restrictions: The Skill Can devour a maximum of 2 SS-Grade Skills!
Current Skill Stored: None!]
"…"
At first I felt a bit scammed with this. But then as I read into more details, I understood the implications of the gift.
Ignoring the task to upgrade it, just this gift was enough for me to have 2 Additional skill slots, while allowing me to infinitely increase my Stats and total permanent energy that I had.
All I needed to do was destroy and absorb everything around me.
'I guess… I won't need to be worried about stats and energy anymore, huh?' I smiled as I looked at the Gift. Even though I still wondered about the word 'sentient being' for now, I was happy with what I had.
"I don't think I would need to worry about anything for the time being anymore," I spoke out loud with a bright smile on my face. And before I could completely enjoy that feeling…
[{Death} has taken an Interest in you!]
