Pickaxe aliens floated six inches above the ground, choking and desperately trying to grasp at their throats, but their struggles were futile. The clatter of metallic objects hitting the concrete echoed throughout the warehouse as the pickaxe aliens discarded their weapons to clutch at their throats in a bid to preserve their lives.

Vulkanus didn't need a large sign or writing on the wall to tell him that Kevin was likely using his Ki Telekinesis, even without turning to face his attackers. Vulkanus swallowed hard as his hands trembled but soon shook himself out of it and took aim at Kevin.

"This is a level three heavy assault plasma rifle. With the right settings, you can take its firepower to a level between three and four. It was nice doing business with you, brat," Vulkanus sneered as he tapped two buttons on his heavy assault rifle quickly. A quick hum was followed by a large red beam shooting at Kevin.

Kevin immediately turned when he realised his Ki Telekinesis couldn't control the beam with just his mind. He raised a palm in the direction of the beam.

Ben and Gwen had been too stunned to even help Kevin at this point, still in shock from seeing many pickaxe aliens suffering from Kevin's earlier attack. Just how powerful was Kevin now? The same thought ran through the Tennysons' minds as they remained spectators.

The beam shot at Kevin appeared to bend slightly, then stopped its trajectory.

"What?" Vulkanus questioned, bewildered by what was happening before him. He blinked twice, just to confirm he wasn't dreaming.

The red beam soon curved out of Vulkanus's gun in a snake-like fashion, causing small red sparks in its wake.

Kevin needed both arms now, keeping one arm still while rotating the other in a counterclockwise direction. With a quick tap on the ground with his feet, Kevin created a large heap of dense purple crystals that began to reform themselves and take the shape of a giant human in real-time.

Even Vulkanus couldn't help but join Ben and Gwen in watching Kevin at work. The crystal giant stood at thirteen feet tall and was soon formed with facial features. Kevin flew up to meet the giant's face and let the beam burrow into the centre of the giant's chest, illuminating the giant with a shade of red and its hollow eyes as well.

'If only I had magic, what I wanted to do in my head would have been possible,' Kevin thought, looking proud of his creation.

The giant wasted no time and threw a punch at Vulkanus, who ducked out of the way just in time, breaking free from his daze. The giant reached for Vulkanus again, this time capturing him. The giant brought the captured Vulkanus to its face, its red eyes menacing.

"This will be the last time you betray me," Kevin remarked, controlling the giant to squeeze harder on Vulkanus. Vulkanus's armour looked like a beverage can being crushed, and there was nothing he could do about it.

"What do you mean, betray? YOU BETRAYED ME! YOU BASTARD! IF I DIE, I WON'T DIE BEGGING YOU!" Vulkanus screamed in a final act of defiance. His armour was already crushed, leaving his body, which fit perfectly at the top of the armour, exposed.

Vulkanus was not necessarily an honest businessman. He had plans to make Kevin absorb his piece of Taydenite so he could mine Taydenite from Kevin until he died, then take Kevin's stash of bio-engineered crystals and find someone who could replicate them. He could create inflation with excess Taydenite and solve it with the limited bio-engineered crystals. Known to be cowardly, Vulkanus couldn't stand Kevin's arrogance any longer and decided to die while spitting on Kevin's ego.

"KEVIN, NO!" Ben cried out, wanting to stop whatever Kevin was planning.

"KEVIN, PLEASE! YOU DON'T HAVE TO KILL HIM; you already got what you wanted," Gwen added urgently. She didn't want to see Kevin slip even further away, becoming a cold, ruthless killer with only his selfish interests at heart. Maybe Kevin staying in the Null Void did more harm to him than good.

"Thank the lady. You live because of her," Kevin said as he descended. The giant heaved its chest to the sky and the beam trapped in it shot to the sky, destroying the ceiling to nothingness. The moon could be seen as its light poured into the warehouse, giving it a natural lighting effect.

The giant disintegrated into fine particles with a loud metallic thud. Vulkanus slipped out of his armour with great difficulty, his body looking like that of a two-year-old toddler except for his aged face. He looked at Kevin, then at Gwen.

With a sigh, he thanked Gwen and ran out of sight. The pickaxe aliens fell unconscious as soon as Kevin released them.

"YOU WENT TOO FAR THIS TIME, KEVIN! WE DON'T KILL!" Ben shouted as he flew towards Kevin.

"We?" Kevin asked, but he soon ignored Ben when something caught his eye.

"Look at that… the little bastard probably wanted me to absorb this by force so he could make a fortune," Kevin muttered, approaching something in the rubble created by his crystal giant near Vulkanus's throne when Vulkanus dodged the first attack.

Kevin saw a long crystal that looked like his bio-engineered crystals but could tell this was the real deal. He hesitated to touch the crystal but then grabbed it by its pointy end.

Teal-coloured crystals began to grow on Kevin's hands until they reached his forearm.

The crystals started shattering on their own into many little pieces until nothing was left on his arm but the crystal he picked up.

"I now have better control," Kevin murmured. He took off through the open ceiling as his figure bathed in the moonlight.

Outside, Kevin took a deep breath, the cool air filling his lungs. In his mind, this encounter had been a test, and he had passed with flying colours. As he walked away, he felt a renewed sense of purpose. There were still many challenges ahead, but he was ready for them.
