Hyeseong’s eyelids slowly blinked. It was also the first time today that he realized his eyelashes were this long. His long eyelashes seemed to flutter softly like butterflies in front of him.

“……”

Ihyeok approached Hyeseong’s face as if possessed. The dreamy, loose expression and this subtle atmosphere. An urge arose not to show the current Hyeseong to anyone else. Ihyeok’s hand gently swept over his face. Soft and hot cheeks touched his hand.

He had never faced Hyeseong this close before. But it felt strangely familiar. A scene flashed through his head for a moment. It wasn’t clearly remembered, but it felt familiar. That time it wasn’t outside, but an indoor place like a hotel, and Hyeseong was standing in front, facing him who was sitting on the bed. That time too, it seemed he had caressed Hyeseong’s face like this. What is it? Is it not?

While thinking that, it was when he was about to approach Hyeseong closer as if possessed by something.

“Oh! CEO! Hyeseong!”

At the sudden voice, Ihyeok was startled and raised his body. Looking at where the sound came from, Dohyun was waving his hand from far away, smiling like a fool. It didn’t seem like he fell asleep in the bathroom.

“Wow, were you waiting for me?”

Dohyun approached, swaying his body like Hyeseong.

“As if.”

Ihyeok fake coughed as if he had just come to his senses. The atmosphere just now was strange no matter who saw it. Meanwhile, Hyeseong seemed to have fallen asleep, his head drooping down. Ignoring the excited babbling Dohyun behind, Ihyeok supported Hyeseong. Since the countryside night was quite chilly, it seemed he needed to quickly take the unwell guy home.

After returning home like that, Ihyeok laid Hyeseong down in the room. When he was about to leave, Dohyun, who had followed jumping up and down behind, was unpacking a huge bag of luggage in the living room, searching for clothes to change into. However, perhaps because he wasn’t in his right mind, he was practically tearing apart all the luggage he brought, and the amount was considerable enough to weigh on his mind.

“Hey.”

“Yes?”

“I’m asking just in case.”

Ihyeok finally found a suitable short-sleeved T-shirt and sweatpants and approached Dohyun who stood up. Dohyun was still smiling nonsensically.

“You’re not just here for a day, are you?”

“Huh? No!”

“Then?”

“I came to stay here for a month. Hehe.”

“What?”

Then Dohyun very kindly began to explain the process of coming to this house for a kind of rural life experience, which he had told Hyeseong earlier. But none of that talk reached Ihyeok’s ears right now.

“What nonsense.”

Just seeing them together was infuriating enough, but what? Staying for a month? It was absurd. And it was more ridiculous that Cheon Hyeseong let it slide without much comment. Thinking about it, he seemed to act unusually easy and soft towards Park Dohyun.

This made it even more inevitable to think that there might really be something between the two. Moreover, Cheon Hyeseong could be an omega. Of course, a more definite investigation would be needed, but it was almost certain based on the circumstances.

But staying together for a whole month? Increasingly, only hollow laughter came out.

“Then CEO, please carefully return to the house next door.”

Dohyun even politely bowed his head. He barely restrained the urge to shove a punch, wanting to. But what did Park Dohyun, who had dropped a huge bomb on Ihyeok, do but naturally tried to enter the bedroom where Hyeseong was?

“Hey, wait. Where are you going now?”

“Yes? I’m going to sleep. I’m so sleepy…”

Dohyun rubbed his eyelids and yawned hugely.

“Damn, did I ask about that now? I asked why you’re going to where Hyeseong is sleeping. Are you so drunk that even your ear holes aren’t functioning properly?”

“Uh…”

At the suddenly chilled voice and rough words, Dohyun let out a startled gasp. He was even hiccupping.

“That’s, so… hic… Originally I was going to sleep on a blanket in that room, but Hyeseong said there were no blankets left. He said he’ll go buy some soon, so just for today…”

Dohyun timidly continued as if he were a kindergartener being scolded. As Ihyeok sighed deeply as if frustrated, his shoulders also shook slightly. Did the guy, whose height was as tall as a pole, get scared now?

“Ha.”

Ihyeok went into Hyeseong’s room wobbling, then came out holding a pillow and the only blanket visible in the wardrobe.

“You said your name is Park Dohyun?”

“Yes!”

“Whether you do some beggar-like month-long stay here or not, well, since Hyeseong allowed it, I’m letting it slide for now, but you see.”

Dohyun tried hard to avoid Ihyeok’s gaze that clashed with him frighteningly.

“Sleep separately.”

Then Ihyeok abruptly handed the items he brought out to Dohyun. Ihyeok persistently demanded an answer while somehow making eye contact with Dohyun who was gritting his teeth and avoiding his gaze.

“…Yes. I’ll keep that in mind!”

Perhaps out of fear, or perhaps because he heard through Hyeseong that Ihyeok was no ordinary person, Dohyun nodded his head vigorously with a face full of alertness.

“Good. Then now go wither and sleep.”

“Yes…”

Dohyun, who failed to enter the fluffy bed, walked to the opposite room, drooping like a rain-soaked mouse. Having successfully removed the harmful foreign substance, Ihyeok lightly dusted off his hands.

“This isn’t some experience site, what month-long stay.”

Thinking that he should ask Hyeseong again tomorrow, Ihyeok opened the bedroom door once more. Honestly, he should have turned back like this, but strangely his feet wouldn’t leave. He couldn’t just leave those two drunk together unless he was certain that Park Dohyun was not the culprit of that kiss mark.

Of course, judging from the terrified face of Park Dohyun earlier, it didn’t seem like he would ever crawl into this room, but he was still anxious.

As he slowly entered the room, the sound of Hyeseong’s steady breathing could be heard. Who knew such a cute sound would come out while sleeping, not even a baby?

As if demonstrating that he was sleeping in a daze from being drunk, Hyeseong had rolled to the far side of the bed and was sleeping quietly. Ihyeok carefully sat down next to him and observed Hyeseong. Then he noticed the cell phone slightly sticking out of his pocket. Without hesitation, Ihyeok picked up Hyeseong’s phone and tapped on the screen.

The lock screen icon appeared along with the default background image that suited the owner. Well, he didn’t expect it, but he tried turning it on just in case, and as expected.

Anyway, since he planned to dig directly, he didn’t need to find out this way. Ihyeok put the phone back next to Hyeseong.

“Are you really an omega?”

“…”

He didn’t ask expecting an answer. Hyeseong would have already fallen deep asleep.

Hyeseong was definitely a beta. No matter what happened so far, if he was really an omega, it meant his trait had changed.

It wasn’t that he had never heard of such cases before. There were quite a few known trait conversion cases in Korea alone. Still, it was hard to believe that someone close to him might be like that.

Is Hyeseong really an omega? Whenever he had such thoughts, his heart would oddly race. It felt like becoming a young child who gets excited and bounces around just by looking at a gift wrapping.

Ihyeok spent a long time like that observing the sleeping face of Hyeseong. The dawn night that was not boring at all was passing by quietly like that.

* * *

One of the 101 reasons Hyeseong doesn’t enjoy drinking is the hangover. If he drank just the right amount to feel good, there was no big problem, but after drinking until he got drunk, that is, until he became incoherent, and woke up, he literally experienced hell.

His stomach churned, his head throbbed, and his mood was not very good.

“Ah…”

Yes, just like right now. Hyeseong was holding his head which seemed like it would shatter, unable to even open his eyes. This was why he avoided alcohol. Moreover, it had been a really long time since he last drank until he was completely wasted. Even last time when he drank with Park Dohyun, it wasn’t this bad.

It seemed worse because he drank soju quickly. It was the first time he suffered from such a severe hangover since the one time he went to a club get-together back in his college days. It was when he was desperately trying to open his heavy eyelids with all his might.

“You’re awake?”

A familiar voice was heard. Clearly, he didn’t live alone in this house, so it wasn’t that strange to hear another voice. But the voice just now was a big problem because it wasn’t Park Dohyun’s.
