Chapter 2.2 - The Second Night Part 2
The Second Night Part 2
Long Aotian heard her and frowned in displeasure. “I didn't want to! This is where I usually sleep! It is one of our few double coffins, and I could not find a more spacious one!”
“…” Joyce took a deep breath. “What I meant was to prepare a normal room for him. A room that a human can live in with a human type bed… Oh, and a soft sofa.”
“…We don't have a room like that.”
“Go get one ready right now.” Joyce watched Long Aotian to make sure he was listening to her and demanded it solemnly.
She went up to Sean and opened up the closed coffin. She untied the rope at the top of the coffin cover and helped him sit up.
She saw that Long Aotian was unwilling to leave, so she called for him again. ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ
“Oh yes, in order to welcome our handsome knight, the room should have south-facing windows and the walls should be pink! The bed needs to be big and soft too. I'm sure he'll like it!”
She watched as Long Aotian listened to her orders and left. Then, she happily pulled Sean out of the coffin.
She didn’t care whether Sean was uncomfortable or disliked that kind of room. When Long Aotian finished preparing the room, she could use the fact that she was guarding Sean as an excuse to sleep in the room.
With this kind of plan in mind, Joyce gleefully pulled Sean away to leave the basement.
Even though Long Aotian was a degraded cannon fodder villain with an unreasonable and random name, his execution was super fast. The strength and speed of vampires was brilliant right now.
Joyce was delighted as she brought Sean into the room and inspected the simple room that was decorated to her satisfaction. Joyce nodded contently, especially when she saw the big bed.
”Great! Starting from today, I have decided to guard this place 24/7 in order to prevent the knight from escaping.”
“…No, Your Highness Joyce, the Great Demon Dragon’s people are too cunning. You should be careful of him…” Long Aotian said in horror.
“It is because they are so cunning that I have to be by his side and watch him at all times!” Joyce retorted aggressively. “This is what I’ve decided on!”
Sean frowned slightly when he heard her, but Joyce looked over at the young man next to her and became more and more pleased. If she had suddenly asked to change her room, then it would certainly make the vampires suspicious. However, if she was guarding Sean, then it would be different.
Joyce turned her eyes to the sofa in the corner of the room. She was overjoyed with one glance.
When Long Aotian was gone, she could make the little knight sleep on the sofa and she would take over the big bed.
With these thoughts, she ecstatically approached the little knight next to her.
“What do you think? Do you like it?”
Sean surveyed the room with the pink curtains, pink bed sheets, and pink pillows. There was even a pink sofa in the room… His gaze returned to Joyce.
Why would Joyce want his answer? She avoided his gaze. “Okay. Long Aotian, you can withdraw.”
But before her wishes could be completely fulfilled, Long Aotian had already sent someone to move her coffin up and respectfully said, “Your Highness, don't wrong yourself. I'll watch him with you, and I'll sleep on the sofa. You can just peacefully sleep in the coffin.”
“…”
Joyce was speechless as she was pushed into the coffin by Long Aotian and struggled to sit up. She clenched her teeth and wanted to throw Long Aotian out of the room. She looked up and saw Sean standing to one side. He was looking down on her, with an indifferent smile on the corners of his lips.
For a moment, she felt like she saw something in the person in front of her…
But when she took a closer look, she only saw that Sean had turned away.
Joyce gritted her teeth and kicked Long Aotian out for always trying to think of her needs.
Joyce’s world was finally peaceful again. She kicked the obnoxious coffin aside and pointed to the sofa.
“You’ll sleep there from now on.”
Sean did not argue with her and quietly sat down on the sofa.
Joyce stood near him and curiously observed the young man.
“Aren’t you afraid?”
Sean raised his head and glanced at her apathetically with his calm eyes. “Afraid?”
“Yes.” Joyce raised her chin and looked down at him. “This castle is full of vampires.”
Sead did not answer her question. Instead, he lifted his tied up hands.
“Perhaps you can untie me first?”
Joyce was a little stumped for words. She immediately waved her hand. “What do I do if I untie it and you sneak attack me at night?”
The young man raised his eyes. A pair of clear and indifferent eyes silently focused on her. “Sneak attack you?”
“…” Joyce averted her eyes awkwardly as she remembered how she couldn’t resist the smell of his blood in the carriage.
“Your sword is with Long… Long Aotian.” When Joyce said Long Aotian’s stupid name, she couldn’t stop her lips from pulling itself. When Sean didn't move, Joyce walked up to him in frustration and untied the rope around his wrist. “What’s so good about the palace? The Great Demon Dragon is with the princess and your mission is done, so… don't worry about going back?”
Sean's gaze was on the side of her face the entire time as he used the soft moonlight to study her.
“Aren’t you going to trade me for Cathy?”
“How could the Great Demon Dragon hand over the Primogenitor for a knight?” Joyce’s lips twitched and she sized up the young man's thin figure. “Look, you've endured a lot of hardship with him, right? Which knight is not tall and mighty? Why are you so thin…”
She untied the rope around Sean's wrist. She was looking at him as she spoke, but her eyes were fixed on his delectable, white neck in the faint moonlight.
His sweet blood flowing under his thin skin was like a life-saving oasis. It was brewing a sweet water that disoriented desert travelers to approach it. Joyce struggled to swallow her saliva as her heartbeat accelerated and she involuntarily got closer to the delicious smell…
