Chapter 266 - A NASTY PLAN
Grace Hasler had told him the identity of the man who had caused harm to Lucy Irvine 33 years ago. That man was no other than Grace's biological father.
He had known the secret kept by Grace Hasler, but Kevin still had no proof about the man's relation with the werewolf's wars and the case he was currently investigating.
That man was indeed a bad person, but it didn't mean that there was an absolute relation between the man and the werewolf wars.
The fierce lady had told him the identity, and he wasn't surprised because he had been suspicious of that person for a while now. However, he still had to confirm the man's relation with the case he was investigating. And the key he could use as confirmation was a man named Steve.
He and Julia only needed an hour to speak with each other last night, so there were still two hours remaining until the ice around Steve's body would melt.
Even so, Kevin decided to melt the ice around the man's body after he finished talking with Grace and tied up the man's body with rope instead.
Steve's face was blue because of the super low temperature in his body last night, and he decided to save the man's life by melting the ice using his hands. Steve begged him to let him free, but Kevin didn't want to take a risk and bound the man's body and limbs with rope instead.
He had a chance to interrogate Steve last night, but he chose to postpone the plan and let Steve have some rest. Only today he finally would question the purple-haired man.
Now, Steve was sitting on the chair with rope bound his body.
"Sir, don't you think that you're being unfair? I indeed tied up your boyfriend, but I still fed him with food aside from water. But now you only let me drink water and didn't let me have some food."
Kevin was sitting opposite of the man, and his expression remained cold and aloof. "Kris is a human, so he deserves to eat food. But I don't think you can even be classified as an animal, so you don't deserve food."
The words were sharp and piercing, and it tore Steve's heart. Kevin lost all his respect for Steve because of what the man did towards the seven innocent men who were faithful to Kris. They all grew up together, but Steve had the heart to kill them all.
"Is it because of money?" Kevin questioned the man out of the blue.
His question sounded vague, and Steve frowned in confusion upon hearing the ambiguous question. However, he was not stupid and could immediately understand what the scientist meant.
"Yes," Steve confirmed while ducking his head shamefully. "My girlfriend is working as a guard too, and she comes from a poor family. Her parents want her to get married to a rich man, so I don't have any other choice than to accept the money given by those people. Mr. Kris didn't give me money that could make me rich in a blink of an eye, after all."
Kevin tried to suppress his anger upon hearing Steve's confession. "Just because of money, you went to the extent to kill your brothers? Do you think your so-called money would accompany you until the end just like your brothers would do to you? Do you think your crime would be covered in the dark forever?"
Kevin said that he would kill Steve using his two hands last night, but that was just an empty threat. He was beyond angry, but he couldn't bring himself to punish the criminal that way.
Steve was indeed a heartless creature, and he would be the same as that evil bastard if he dirtied his hands with that bastard's blood.
Taking a deep breath, Kevin focused his blue eyes on the other man again. "You want money, right?" He questioned the man coldly. "I will give you all the money I have, but now tell me what those people planned for us?"
For a man who was so greedy like Steve, Kevin could only bet all his money to make the man unveil the truth to him. And he made an accurate prediction because Steve's pair of eyes immediately glimmered upon hearing his words.
"They want to conquer the world using the new werewolves army, Sir."
Kevin was not completely surprised by Steve's confession. After suspecting that Felix Smith was related to the case, he had guessed that all the scheme must be related to werewolves once again.
Luke had informed him that Felix Smith always wanted to create a new version of werewolves, and now when he heard the confirmation from Steve, he knew that he guessed it accurately.
"It's Felix Smith's doing, right?" Kevin questioned the young man again.
Steve looked a bit surprised by the question. "You also know about Felix Smith, Sir? Mr. Kris also asked me about that man before," he stated the truth. "And yeah, it was indeed a man named Felix Smith that created those werewolves. I also only found out about that yesterday."
Kevin raised an eyebrow when he heard Steve's confession. He didn't need to ask the man, but he was sure that Steve didn't know about those criminals. He probably just did some fieldwork for those people without knowing what they were planning behind the closed door.
"You shamelessly kept talking about Kris," Kevin spoke again. "He is alright, isn't he?" He continued with a longing hint in his voice.
Steve, without a doubt, nodded his head as an answer to Kevin's question. "He is alright, Sir. Those people indeed tied him up, but they didn't hurt your boyfriend at all. You don't have to worry about him, Sir."
"You tell me not to worry?" Kevin asked again with a sneer.. "You kidnapped him for a purpose, right? You probably don't know about it, but I'm sure that those people have a nasty plan for Kris."
