Chapter 8: BEGINNING OF THE END 2
Harlow returned to the Hamilton Villa after the cremation process. She had returned to the same mansion she'd shared with Alanis for years now even if she had been the only one living in here with Alex. Alanis never returned home and avoided her throughout their marriage together.
He provided for her and made sure she never lacked anything, but there was just so much his money could do. Money was pointless when it came to love. Heaven knows how hard she tried to win him over. How many people slut shamed and mocked her because of him, even when she got married to him.
Ten years is indeed a long time to be foolish now she thought about it. Every day she woke up to the empty mansion, cooking and cleaning for herself alone because she had no one else to speak to. Alex's birth had been a mistake, she would never have had Alex if Alanis didn't return home drunk that night. Just like he did two months ago.
Harlow reminisced about the past as she packed the remains of herself and Alex out of the mansion. She wanted to be out of there before Alanis received the news of Alex's death. The divorce papers and Alex's ashes have been sent to him. It's only a matter of time before he returns.
She would have loved to see his reaction and mock him for being a bad father.
Harlow had no money with her. Without the Hamilton, she was nothing but a street beggar. Her family had disowned her long ago, there is no family to go back to, Claudia's mother will never accept her back.
But she would rather live on the streets than stay here.
She's Harlow Blackwood, she would live off the skills she has. She would make a comeback and make everyone pay for ever hurting her.
"What do you think you're doing you imbecile?" The sudden scream at the door startled Harlow and as she raised her head to see who it was, she sighed. She hadn't expected to see her today, but what could she do, she was in the Hamilton Villa.
Garth Hamilton, Alanis step mother lives just opposite her mansion, she had moved in that way ever since she got married to Alanis. It was always easy for Garth to visit and always scold Harlow because her mansion was directly opposite theirs.
Garth was standing before her mad daughter-in-law. In her hands was the hospital report from this afternoon about her grandson's death. The entire Hamilton family had only just found out about Alex's death.
When Alanis and Claudia left the hospital that day, Claudia demanded the doctor send Alex's death report to the Hamilton family. She knew Alex was dead before Harlow because she had been the one to kill the boy herself.
She was jealous that no matter how much she tried to win Alanis and his son over, they still didn't want her. Even though they had been lovers from before, things had changed between them when she arrived again.
Alanis may not have been in love with her step-sister, but he sure didn't hate her so much. No matter the lies and manipulation, he still didn't despise Harlow as much as she wanted. He still cared for her as his wife. Claudia wasn't very happy with that.
All her life, she has always been the one to beg for affection and love from everyone. While her half-sister had an easy life growing up because she was more pretty and had a better attitude. Claudia didn't like that. And to crown it all, her mother was the mistress of the Blackwood family. She wasn't just the least loved, but the illegitimate daughter.
She's harbored hate for Harlow since the beginning and this is just her little devious way of paying her back. She made her father hate Harlow by lying in her name, as well as everyone around Harlow. Especially Garth Hamilton.
Now standing behind the elderly woman, Claudia smiled as she watched them all ridicule Harlow one last time. This would be the end of her sister. She has planned everything out over and over again and could see everything play out the way she wanted.
This is the last straw for Harlow. The Hamilton family despises her now. Her end is near. Claudia could almost laugh in victory, atlas, she won.
"You mad woman, we gave you everything Harlow. We gave you money and the life you can only dream of and this is how you repay us?" Harlow was stunned for a moment. With the way these people were upset with her, one would think she killed someone.
Did they finally hear about the divorce?
She met them, she spoke to them, but no one listened to her. She told them countless times Alex was ill. What more did they want her to do?...
"Where's Alanis, why is this bitch still alive. She's killed a member of the family. She deserves to die too." Alanis younger sister Ria yelled. She was the fat shapeless younger sister who always had issues with Harlow because of her insecurities.
"I told you all from the beginning. I knew this would happen. The way she always maltreated Alex, I knew she would harm him one day. She's mad, I knew this would happen." George, Alanis's cousin said. Harlow who was standing at a corner was too speechless to say a word.
"She's even trying to escape, where do you think you're going to bitch?" The house help yelled at her. The elderly woman has always hated her from the beginning. Harlow usually only ignored her words until today. She was already too hurt by the death of her son, she would never let these people accuse her wrongly. The soft Harlow they always bullied was long buried with Alex.
She lifted her hands to slap the housekeeper but George caught her hands and pushed her aside. His strength had her stumbling a few feet back as she clashed against both her and her son's clothes. Her stomach contracted again and she held it.
Her child, she couldn't possibly let anything happen to her child.
"It's okay, maybe she didn't mean it. My sister couldn't possibly kill her son?" Claudia said immediately and Harlow frowned. There's no way these people are accusing her of killing her son.
Are they?
