Chapter 17: Chapter 17 - The Appearance of Jowalin
Smile..."
Isis smiled wider upon hearing Jiang Yun's words, then said, "I understand all of this, but..."
She sheathed her sword as she spoke.
"Did you know that a swordsman is not bound by the laws of the world... the sword exists to break laws."
"Shiiing...."
"Clank."
After Isis finished speaking, two sounds were heard simultaneously – one was the sound of a sword, and the other was the sound of it returning to its sheath.
The speed at which she drew, struck, and resheathed her sword was so fast that Jiang Yun did not even see what happened.
Jiang Yun was listening to Isis until he heard the sounds, then a few seconds later, he felt an intense pain in his chest.
"What?!... How is this possible?!"
He shouted as he found a sword mark stretching across his chest and stomach, almost splitting him in half, if not for his physical strength.
On a cloud, an old man was watching with amusement but was stunned at that moment when he saw Isis's strike.
"What?!... Has this girl grasped the intent of the sword at such a young age?!"
"But how, when she hasn't even entered the Primal World yet?!"
"Is it due to that cursed general's blood or what?!"
"No, even the general could not have had this talent at her age."
"No... this young girl is very dangerous; I must..."
"You're right... my sister is indeed talented."
The old man was shocked when he heard a voice beside him. He turned his head and found a young man sitting comfortably beside him, one leg propped on the cloud, the other stretched out.
"???... Who is this?!.. How did I not sense him sitting right next to me?!"
"Could he be an ancient who lived for thousands of years but retained his youth?!..."
The old man was even more shocked when he saw Jowalin's ordinary, worn-out clothes and the old staff resting against his body.
"Watching from here is enjoyable, isn't it?"
Jowalin smiled as he watched the battle below, but the old man was very scared, especially since he couldn't sense Jowalin's cultivation level.
The Absolute Sovereignty Technique is beyond logic, so no one can sense Jowalin's energy level. If they could, they would be terrified of the power of his primordial energy.
"Who... who are you?!"
"Oh?!... So you don't know who I am?!..."
Jowalin spoke with an indifferent smile, but then the smile disappeared entirely, replaced by an absolute coldness that made the old man's spine shiver.
"So, how dare you meddle in my land with some trash?!... And on top of that, you dare to mess with my mother and sister, huh?! You are truly bold."
After Jowalin finished speaking, he gripped his staff like a spear and simply threw it. The staff flew at terrifying speed under the old man's gaze, piercing Jiang Yun's body and pinning him to the ground.
Isis was utterly shocked when she found a staff piercing the opponent who was about to attack her.
"I'll let you return, old man, since your foot hasn't yet touched my land. I don't know who's behind you, but tell them..."
"... any ant that dares to meddle in my land will be crushed."
After Jowalin finished speaking, he looked at Dawood, who had harmed his mother, and a terrible killing intent filled his eyes.
Isis stared at the staff in amazement and was about to reach for it, but suddenly the staff disappeared.
It reappeared right next to Dawood. Both Dawood and Serine were shocked when they saw it because they hadn't sensed anything.
In the next moment, Jowalin appeared in front of the staff, holding it in a striking position, and said,
"You ants... how dare you hurt my mother?!"
Jowalin swung the staff, which transformed in less than a moment into a sword that severed Dawood's four limbs, then returned to its original form.
"I'll let you live like this as a lesson to the group of fools who dared to mess with my mother. Leave."
Dawood was confused; he heard the words and saw the swing of the staff but felt nothing due to the terrifying speed of the action.
"Aaaaah..."
Then he felt the terrible pain and the sword energy that penetrated his body, cutting all his meridians.
"What?... Hmmm?! Isn't that my brother?!"
Isis was still in shock from the stick's disappearance a few seconds earlier, but she heard a scream and looked up, exclaiming in joy when she saw Jowalin.
To Isis, her brother was the only thing she saw in the scene before her; it was as if her entire world was her brother. She didn't even see Dawood, whose limbs had been severed... only her brother.
Jowalin smiled when he saw that, then went to his mother, who was in shock, and held her in his arms. Then a green energy radiated from the staff, healing all her wounds.
"Heal everyone."
Jowalin threw the stick among the wounded and commanded it to heal everyone.
The stick then swiftly descended to the ground among the injured young people, healing them quickly. However, those who had lost their lives were already gone.
The old man above the clouds looked on in shock; he had lost his senses from the speed and was terrified. He turned to leave, but suddenly remembered,
"Damn it... that cursed child is still here. Though he is trash, he is a thousand times more important than Jiang Yun because his cursed grandfather is really powerful."
The old man was referring to the young man who called himself "the young master," but he did not dare descend to the ground; Jowalin's warning was clear.
"Brother..."
Isis threw herself at Jowalin, who had landed on the ground, and embraced him. She wasn't confused about his power or how he could fly without yet entering the Primal World – she just missed her brother.
"Hahaha... I didn't expect you to be so talented; just as expected from my sister."
Jowalin patted Isis's head affectionately, then let go of his mother, carried Isis on his back, and teased her when he saw her looking at Caesar, who was in a frenzied state.
"What? Are you worried about that kid over there?!"
Isis's face turned red, and she buried her face in Jowalin's back, making him laugh heartily and say,
"Don't worry; that kid... is good... very good."
Jowalin walked towards Caesar, carrying Isis on his back, saying,
"Please wait for me, Mother."
"...Alright."
Caesar had completely lost his mind and was frenzied, his body covered in black scales filled with strange runes.
Caesar vanished from his spot in a flash, reappeared next to the guard captain, picked up his sister, and placed her on the ground while the captain's head fell off, his lifeless body collapsing.
"Graaa... Graaa..."
Caesar roared upon realizing his sister was no longer breathing and launched himself at the young master to kill him.
"...Don't let him kill that child, or he will cause a catastrophe for this country."
Jowalin heard the old man's voice in his ear, and immediately afterward, Jowalin moved, appearing in front of Caesar, his finger on his forehead. Caesar instantly lost consciousness and returned to normal.
"Are you talking about that child?"
Jowalin spoke loudly, not using his spiritual power, so Isis and Serine were puzzled about whom he was addressing. But suddenly, they heard a voice from above the clouds,
"Yes... you are smart."
At that moment, the old man spoke with a hint of arrogance. It seemed this old man, who looked young, was also afraid.
"I know that."
After Jowalin finished, he waved his hand and turned the young master into a bloody mist, shocking the old man, who left without a word, taking Jiang Yun with him, who was screaming like a chicken.
"Brother... what happened to my brother?"
Jowalin heard a loud crying voice, which was from Sarah, who had stopped breathing a little earlier, but the stick had healed her. She hadn't died since she'd only stopped breathing for less than three minutes.
"Don't worry, little girl... he just lost consciousness."
Jowalin looked at the beautiful Sarah and said that, but Sarah kept crying and said,
"Crying... who are you calling a little girl... crying... I'm twenty, just like you, hmph."
"Hahahaha..."
Jowalin was surprised, but Isis, who was on his back, laughed heartily, thinking to herself,
"It seems my brother is a fool."
"Ahem... Alright, all of you follow me. We're going to my home after you bury everyone."
Jowalin carried Caesar in his hand and told the young people who had been healed to follow him after burying those who died defending their land.
