The Beast Tamer Is A Slime

Chapter 21: “Hiding A Slime”

John's words referred to Charlie's awakened talent [The Survivor] that would only be given to people who were too eager to survive without any other will.

[Now that the master has contracted you, you can actually hide in the contracted beast's special space whenever there are dangers!]

Charlie was hit with countless explanations and bizarre facts, almost exploding his not-so-good brain on the spot.

But when he heard something related to his survival, the boy, who was shivering with fright, suddenly looked at the slime on top of John's head with wide eyes.

[R-really? I-I can hide in the contracted beast space?]

He never knew that he could survive with such a strange trick, but it was indeed plausible!

Who would have thought that there was a slime here who could tame humans?

Maybe, if other [The Survivor] awakened hunters heard about this, they would scramble to become the slime's contracted beast.

There was nothing more tempting for [The Survivor] awakened hunters than an absolute safe space in an emergency!

Charlie's eyes lit up, and even Neo couldn't help but look at John in a new light.

He thought that this man was all brawl but no brain. It turned out he was actually an old fox.

After John tempted the boy with the "absolute safe space", Charlie didn't hesitate to accept his current state and was even eager to flatter the little slime.

He was born to be a bootlicker and was already proficient in "licking" people and flattering them to heaven.

[Master, master, what can I do for you? Do you want to eat something? Uncle John said that the food I make can help you level up!]

John did tell Charlie about this after he "tempted" Charlie, so as to make the insecure boy more confident about his own ability.

After all, the boy's potential was a B-rank!

Neo waved his little hands at Charlie and stopped him from calling "master" here and there all the time.

[Just call me Neo and treat me as if I'm John's pet! We have to be low-key, you know?]

And calling "master" sounded too cringe.

People would definitely stamp him as a slime with BDSM flavor.

Charlie was flexible and immediately obeyed Neo's request.

[Okay, Neo, I'll try to treat you as John's pet. B-but if that's the case, then what about me?]

After all, Charlie was conscious as a "tamed beast". He knew that he had to follow Neo and John in the future.

But what excuse should he give to other people?

Neo wasn't troubled about this and directly threw the problem to John.

[Big hooman, you discuss things with the small hooman. Make sure after we leave the dungeon, he will be prepared to follow us everywhere.]

After all, a "tamed beast" couldn't be separated too far from their beast tamer, especially when the bond was still new.

While John was discussing the future plan with Charlie, Neo quickly browsed through Charlie's set of skills and once again felt that the boy was too weak.

[The Survivor] only had a set of skills suitable for escape, and the most interesting one, [Emergency Food], was only effective on the talent owner.

For Neo, this [Emergency Food] skill that retained the skill user's last breath in an emergency wasn't as useful as the [Shadow Steps] skill.

Thus, Neo picked the [Shadow Steps] skill and once again activated his [Borrow For Eternity] skill to steal Charlie's barely-good skill.

The good thing was that, [Borrow For Eternity] skill had no cooling down time.

As long as the beast tamer contracted a new tamed beast and had not copied their skill yet, this [Borrow For Eternity] could be used anytime.

After making sure that he got Charlie's [Shadow Steps] skill, Neo stopped John and Charlie's sneaky discussion and addressed their current urgent problem.

[Hooman, do you know how to smuggle out a living beast from the dungeon?]

Yes. Neo was an ambitious slime and naturally, he wanted to leave the dungeon to see the outside world!

John and Charlie, who were talking passionately through telepathy before, immediately gave out one idea after another in the "group chat".

[How about hiding in the special container for slime corpses? Just pretend to be a dead slime]

John, with his extensive experience in raiding a dungeon, immediately gave a brilliant idea.

Anyway, they could not openly bring Neo out because none of them were beast tamers and none of them could afford to use a beast contract scroll to bring out a wild beast from the dungeon.

[I-I think it's a good idea...W-we have to stay low-key. If you appear with us openly, many people will still pay attention to you...]

Charlie also put forward his opinion.

Neo looked too different from an ordinary slime. Who knew if someone would notice such an eye-catching tiny golden slime.

Hiding in the special container, disguising as a corpse slime was the best idea Charlie could think of because a slime could still live without oxygen in the tightly-sealed tube.

Anyway, the containers were all packed into the hunters' backpack, giving a double cover, so people wouldn't see Neo's conspicuous golden skin.

Because Charlie still had room for "slime corpses" in the middle-sized container he brought with him, he immediately offered to help.

[N-neo, my container still has a lot of room for a few more adult slimes. I-it will be more comfortable for you to stay in my container.]

As cowardly and weak as Charlie was, when it was time to fight for "favor", he was also cunning.

John clicked his tongue behind Charlie and cursed the young boy to be shameless.

Neo had no idea about the "two concubines" palace fight behind his back and readily agreed to stay inside Charlie's container.

He even thought of eating the remaining slime corpses inside Charlie's container to get more space, but John immediately guessed the slime's plan.

[Hey, don't eat the slime corpses. They can be sold for a lot of money!]

John didn't know about the strange disappearance of slime corpses, but he had a feeling that this ancestor was thinking of gobbling a slime for snacks!
