The Arrival of Naruto in the Marvel Universe

Chapter 8: Chapter 008: Ambush

Inside the Continental Hotel, Charles entered the Naruto world interface and completed today's sign-in, receiving a reward of 30,000 copper coins.

"Upgrade to a privileged Tier 2 user and enjoy double sign-in rewards!"

Looking at the reappearing invitation to recharge, Charles couldn't help but feel a bit helpless.

It's not that he didn't want to become a premium user, but he genuinely didn't know how to recharge, so he reluctantly chose to close the popup.

Having obtained John Wick's blood oath medallion, Charles went to the Continental Hotel's front desk, checked out, and left the hotel.

As the sky darkened, Charles didn't head to his office. Umino Iruka was in charge there, so he didn't need to worry for now.

If there were any difficult tasks, Iruka would contact him.

Although Iruka was just a mid-level ninja responsible for teaching within the Naruto universe, in the time before the Marvel Event started, taking on missions was still quite easy for him.

Charles drove his beloved Mercedes 300SL to 405 Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, New York. He had rented a 200-square-meter apartment in the Chrysler Building for his usual residence.

In reality, Charles had once searched for the Stark Tower on Fifth Avenue.

He wanted to see if those several individuals from the Marvel world were present. However, the result was that there was no apartment called the Stark Tower on Fifth Avenue yet, and thus, those individuals didn't exist either.

Frankly, this left him slightly disappointed.

Before it got completely dark, Charles arrived at Lexington Avenue. He slowly drove his car into the underground parking garage of the Chrysler Building.

At this moment, the security personnel responsible for the building's underground parking saw Charles's car from afar. They immediately opened the gate and greeted him with a smile.

Mainly because Charles's Mercedes 300SL was quite distinctive, being a 1954 model with gullwing doors. It was highly recognizable. Moreover, among all the building's residents, only Charles was willing to drive such a valuable vintage car on the road.

Yes, the 1954 Mercedes 300SL was truly an authentic vintage car. Charles had bought this car from a bankrupt wealthy man. At the time, the car had only been driven for a little over two thousand kilometers, and it had been very well maintained by the owner. It was in perfect condition for road travel.

In Charles's eyes, cars were meant to be driven, not left in a garage as exhibits. It wasn't his original intention.

He passed through the entrance gate, slowly driving into the underground parking garage, and parked his car in his designated spot. As he got out of the car, he felt a surge of killing intent.

Gunshots rang out, and in the blink of an eye, Charles retrieved a shuriken from the Naruto world and deflected the bullets coming his way.

"Clang!"

A crisp collision sound echoed as Charles deflected the bullets.

In the next instant, he threw a shuriken, which landed directly on the neck of the person firing the gun, instantly killing them.

However, when he fell to the ground, his finger remained on the trigger due to the rapid fire, causing the assault rifle to spray bullets toward Charles's nearby car.

"Bastard!"

Charles cursed under his breath. He didn't pause his movements, even though he lacked any weapon in his hand. He deflected all the incoming bullets, finally saving his car from any damage.

All of this happened within the blink of an eye.

Having just saved his car and barely had a moment to catch his breath, another gunman appeared, aiming at Charles and pulling the trigger vigorously.

A massive barrage of bullets was unleashed, forming a rain of projectiles.

Fortunately, the moment Charles saw the gunman, he swiftly performed hand signs and employed the Substitution Jutsu in time, evading the barrage of bullets.

However, his beloved car behind him was instantly turned into a riddle.

The four gunmen, upon witnessing Charles transform into a wooden pole in an instant, were left dumbfounded. They even stopped pulling the triggers, completely astonished.

At this moment, Charles appeared to the side through the Substitution Jutsu. He swiftly turned his body.

Whoosh!

He arrived in front of one of the gunmen. The shuriken swept across the man's neck, and in an instant, one gunman met his demise, collapsing to the ground.

Now, the other three gunmen had just managed to react and immediately redirected their guns.

Unfortunately, before the three could even turn around, Charles's figure was like a ghostly phantom. He appeared before them in an instant and used the shuriken to slash their necks.

With all five gunmen dead, the underground parking garage fell silent once more.

No more gunmen jumped out. Charles walked over to his car, gazing at the dense bullet marks on its body, instantly feeling heartache.

This was an antique car that he really liked. He wasn't sure if it could be repaired back to its original state.

Turning his focus from the battle-damaged version of his Mercedes 300SL, Charles was curious who the audacious individual was that dared to attack him.

Charles approached the bodies of the gunmen and discovered that they were all Russians. He immediately deduced that this was all the work of that bastard, Vigo.

"Damn Vigo!"

In the morning's battle, he hadn't retrieved his shurikens. Instead, he left them at the scene as a symbol, to let Vigo know that he, the ninja Charles, had saved those people.

Originally, he wanted to intimidate Vigo, but things didn't go as planned. Instead, it led to Vigo sending his underlings to find him.

Knowing who the target was, the rest was easier to handle.

Charles took out his phone, dialed a number, and soon the call was answered.

"Charlie, Chrysler Building parking garage, a dinner for five."

"Yes, right away."

After hanging up the call, his phone rang shortly after.

Charles glanced at the incoming number and pressed the answer button.

"Charles, is that you?"

"John, it's me."

On the other end of the line, John Wick's tone carried a touch of sadness. He spoke with an urgent tone, "I should have taken care of Vigo. That bastard sent people to kill my old friend Marcus. He saved me at the Continental Hotel yesterday."

"Charles, Vigo might come after you too. Be careful."

Charles looked at the five corpses on the ground and said, "He already did."

"Huh?"

"I've already dealt with Vigo's men he sent after me."

Hearing that Charles had already taken care of Vigo's men, John Wick said, "As long as you're safe. I'm going after Vigo now to settle the score. We'll be in touch later."

With that, John Wick hung up the phone.

Hearing the busy tone on the other end of the call, Charles chuckled and muttered, "Stubborn old man."

Charles knew that John was going to avenge his old friend.

Glancing at his beloved car once again, he muttered, "Since someone wants to kill you, I won't compete for that, but this debt will be settled with your Russian gang."
