Chapter 29: Chapter 029: 1 Hour
Time passed second by second, and soon many assassins arrived in the hall.
Although the assassins present were engaged in conversations, their peripheral vision never left Charles Doyle's table.
Seeing that there were about enough people present, Charles stood up and walked towards the large screen displaying the bounty missions.
As Charles Doyle stood up, all eyes were drawn to him. As he moved, the gazes of the people followed him.
Ascending the steps and approaching the bounty screen, Charles pointed at the reward posted by Sloan using a shuriken and began to speak:
"The Continental hotel has gathered eighty percent of New York's assassins. I wonder how many people are here in the mission hall today."
"I know that many of you came for this bounty mission."
Charles paused for a moment and then continued in a loud voice, "I, Charles Doyle, am here to tell you today, to tell all the assassins in New York, that this is a provocation from Sloan. Last night, the Assassin Brotherhood was eradicated by my hands!"
At this moment, Charles's gaze swept across the people present. Some assassins who met his gaze immediately took off their hats and placed them over their chests as a sign of respect.
Those without hats placed their right hands over their left chests, showing respect to Charles Doyle. This was the treatment that a legendary assassin deserved.
However, there were also some people whose gazes wavered under Charles's gaze, avoiding his eyes.
They didn't know what the Assassin Brotherhood was, but they harbored fantasies of making a name for themselves and stepping on the bodies of Charles and his companions to claim the bounty.
After surveying the crowd, Charles continued, "The existence of this bounty is still a provocation against me. I respect the rules of the Continental hotel and won't ask for the bounty to be removed. But I want to tell you all, to tell everyone interested in this bounty."
"In one hour, I will leave the Continental hotel. I'll be waiting for those who want the bounty at the three-way intersection outside the hotel. I, Charles, will show no mercy, and I won't hold back. Anyone who dares to make a move against me will not survive."
"But this is your only chance. Before 6 PM, all assassins can act. I'll only target those who make a move."
"After dusk, anyone who dares to target me and the employees of Charles Agency, whether it's your faction behind you or your family…"
"Will face destruction!"
Charles's voice was powerful and resolute, especially when he said the last three words. His entire body emitted a killing intent that pervaded the mission hall.
Seeing Charles Doyle speaking before the bounty mission, Ginny looked at him with admiration. This man was too manly, too charismatic. She really liked him.
Charles saw that the many assassins present had grasped his intention and understood that they should meet in an hour. He then stepped down and returned to his seat.
After Charles Doyle returned to his seat, the mission hall resumed its normal buzz. Many assassins took out their phones and sent messages.
Some assassins were afraid that messages might not convey everything, so they directly made phone calls. They wanted to spread Charles Doyle's words.
Especially the news that Charles Doyle had wiped out the Assassin Brotherhood was the most critical information being spread.
Charles Doyle, back with his companions, glanced at the infatuated Ginny and said, "Later, we'll wait together at the three-way intersection outside the Continental hotel. If anyone makes a move, kill them."
He then looked at the three ninjas and spoke to Ginny, "I'm not worried about those three, but you. Make sure to put on a bulletproof vest, and bring enough bullets. I don't want anything happening to you."
Charles was somewhat helpless about the Assassin Brotherhood members not wearing bulletproof vests.
Although they were skilled marksmen, in a real fight, stray bullets weren't considerate. Given Ginny's abilities, there was still some danger.
Ginny patted her leather jacket and said, "Custom-made by the Continental hotel, bulletproof version."
Examining Ginny's bulletproof jacket, Charles pondered for a moment and continued, "Iruka, later you three will form a defensive formation to protect Ginny."
For Charles, this demonstration of power had to be a resounding success, with no room for failure.
He also couldn't allow any casualties among his team. He aimed to resolve this matter flawlessly.
Hearing Charles's instructions, Iruka, Rock Lee, and Uchiha Sasuke all agreed and assured Charles that they had it under control.
Looking at the bustling crowd of assassins in the hall, Charles took out his phone, dialed Winston's number, and made the call.
"Winston, I need the Continental hotel to provide a service. Seal off the area within a 500-meter radius from the three-way intersection outside the hotel for six hours. No one other than assassins should be allowed to pass through."
Anyone appearing outside the hotel later would be Charles's enemy. When the time came, he would charge forward and eliminate them.
Winston, who was on the top floor of the hotel at the moment, pondered for a moment before speaking, "Charles, from 12 PM to 6 PM, these six hours, the Continental hotel can provide you with a sealing service."
"But it will require ten gold coins!"
Upon hearing the price of ten gold coins, Charles had no objections and agreed to Winston's terms.
Just as Charles hung up the phone, a man approached. It was none other than John Wick.
"Charles, are you sure you don't need my help?"
"Six hours isn't a short period of time. It's even enough for assassins from outside New York State to fly in."
Evidently, John had also heard the news and rushed over immediately. He wanted to assist the man before him, not only to reclaim the Blood Oath Medallion but also to repay the debt of saving his life.
"John, believe me, I can handle this on my own!" Charles declined John's offer.
For Charles, this matter was not only about establishing dominance but also about showcasing his strength and adding chips to his bargaining position for future endeavors.
Seeing Charles's determination, John didn't argue further but also didn't leave the Continental hotel.
He wanted to stay here, partly to witness the outcome and partly to be ready for immediate rescue in case Charles encountered trouble.
Time ticked away, second by second.
Soon, the hour was nearly over.
At this moment, Charles, accompanied by Ginny and four others, walked towards the outside of the Continental hotel.
Inside the hotel, many assassins watched as this group left.
As Charles stepped out of the hotel gate and looked at the bustling street, he muttered, "There really are a lot of foolish people out there."
Upon reaching the street across from the hotel, Charles glanced at his watch. There was one minute left.
"Prepare for battle!"
As the clock's hand approached 12 o'clock, in the next moment...
"Sharingan, activate!"
