Chapter 6: Training
"Well Alfred I have to say I'm surprised to hear from you," John Constantine said walking through Wayne Manor
"Yes... Master Bruce decided that it would be better to get the input of a man more knowledgeable in this field," Alfred replied
"So tell me more about this kid. When did he first show up?" John asked
"From what I know this has been the first time this boy has been seen but I would suggest asking Master Bruce Instead of me," Alfred said as they made their way down an elevator
After the elevator ride, they arrived at the Batcave where Batman was sitting at the Bat computer watching multiple cameras of Virgil's fight.
"Well now bat isn't it customary to greet your guest at the door?" John asked as a joke
"John you made it here fast. Tell me what you can about this kid," Batman said turning to face John
"Straight to business I see," John sighed walking up to the screens
"So this is the kid?"
"Yes...I haven't seen or heard about him until last night," Batman said
"Alright let's see what we are dealing with," John said leaning closer to the screen
As he watched the screen John was surprised at what saw. Virgil's magic was blue something that was extremely rare, and even though he seemed young his mastery was that of someone that had a few years of experience.
"Bloody hell Bats let me tell you this kid is special. That magic of his is completely pure; more pure than anything I have ever seen,"
"Pure...How?" Batman asked
"Well like most magic that has a side, his does not. Most magic is either holy or sinister. Those in between are fake imitations of one or the other, but he is like none of the above. It's as if he is using the source of all magic." Jhon explained
"Then he is dangerous?"
"Yes and no. With his potential he could destroy the world with a thought but because his magic is completely pure during combat that means he does not have an overwelling anger or rage that fills him,"
"But that means he also does not have an overwhelming compass of good," Batman added
"Look bat's none one but the boy wonder is that good even the most pure people still feel anger or sadness," John added
"..."
"But let's really get to the reason I'm here you don't care what kind of magic he has you are wondering if you can recruit him," John said leaning on the desk
"No I want you to speak with him you are the only one who understands his abilities it would be better if you speak with him," Batman replied
"Looks I'm honored the bat needs my help but I don't take in students," John added
"I only need you to get him to come to the Justice League tower. After that, I will have him join the young justice and have Starfire and Nightwing look over him." Batman explained
"...What the hell get to see this kid's magic will be worth it. Let me see his address," John replied with a grin
...
{Virgil I suggest taking a break you have been training for over six hours now}
"I know but I can't stop now I almost have it down," Virgil replied with sweat dripping down his body and a blue mist coming off it.
{What are you even trying to do}
"Passive mana absorption...I realized during my fight that I ran out of mana quickly and until I increase my mana reserve I need to keep my core full," Virgil replied
{Please even with your skill level it will take weeks to master something like that}
"Yes but if I train all day then I will cut down that time by 65%. Well that's the theory but with my current speed I should be able to finish in eight more days," Virgil said
{Alright but seriously stop your body can only handle so much. Stop, eat, and rest you have yet to eat since we arrived} Sabastian said
"I know but I don't feel hungry nor do I feel tired," Virgil replied opening his eyes and standing up
{It's still good to eat and help your body recover, mana can only do so much when it comes to physical recovery} Sabastian explained
"Fine, I will; but I don't have any cash?" Virgil replied walking to his shower
{Don't worry I created a bank card for you after that incident at the bank}
"Thanks...Wait speaking of the bank did you know that was going to happen?" Virgil asked
{Yes. I guess that would have happened. I need to see how you fare in combat
"Really now. How did I fare?" Virgil asked raising a brow
{As I said you adapt much faster than a normal person. I see no problem in your growth in the future, or you fighting against most in this world as you grow.} Sabastian replied
"That's good to know," Virgil replied stepping into the cold shower
"Damn I should find a new place soon," Virgil sighed as his body shivered]
After taking a shower Virgil placed back on his robe and walked out of his apartment onto the streets of Gotham.
With his barrier activated he walked through the crowd. Thanks to hours of practice he realized that he would change the shape of his barrier and increase the density. With minimal mana, he could defend against knives and pistols.
After a five-minute walk, he arrived at a small diner that was mostly empty. Walking inside he sat down at a booth and waited.
As he looked through the menu a young woman walked up to him holding a notepad.
"Morning hun what could I get for you?" She asked with a smile
"Hello could I get three pancakes, with eggs, bacon, orange juice, and cup of coffee," Virgil ordered placing down the menu
"Alright that's one American Morning coming up," she replied
"I would also have the same thing," said a voice walking up to the booth
Looking up I was half surprised to see John Constantine standing there with a small.
"Alright the coffee will be out in a minute and the food about ten," the woman replied walking away
"Sorry for suddenly barging into your breakfast Mister Domini," John said sitting across from me
