Chapter 111 - Finishing The Battle
Lucas was pissed. He was boiling with anger. He took a few steps forward and looked at the blue structure in front of him. The men inside were moving, as Lucas could hear their foot steps. But Lucas also knew better than to think that the warriors did not know about his exceptional hearing. After all, they had Angela on their team, and she would stop at nothing to defeat him.
"Just get the flag first, and then start fighting. That way, you will be able to finish this war as soon as possible." Lucas told himself as he approached the entrance to the building.
The moment that he was within a few meters of the base, he was spotted.
"Enemy spotted. Get ready!" Someone shouted. Lucas glanced at the spot from which the sound came. Someone was on the roof, but Lucas already knew that. After all, he could hear heartbeats as well.
He smiled. "That's right. Everyone should just charge at me with no regards to anything else." Lucas thought to himself.
Soon, around twenty people appeared in front of Lucas. The moment that they saw him, in his huge wolf form, all of them looked shook. They certainly did not expect that they would be battling a monster. All of them looked at him with caution as they brandished their weapons and pointed them at him.
Angela, Ragnar, and Bjorn were nowhere to be seen. Erik and Egil were leading this batch of warriors, and they looked the most incensed. They were the most motivated to kill Lucas and looked like they were ready to walk the pits of hell to do it.
Lucas chuckled as he started raising his own claws. He licked his paws and he looked at them with contempt clear in his eyes. He did not have a single care for any of them.
"What the hell are we facing? I thought that we would be battling a man. What is this monster in front of us? How is this even remotely fair?" a warrior said, his words revealing the inner thoughts of every one there.
"Who would have thought that Fenrir would have given him so much power? When Ragnar said that there was a monster inside of him, I thought that it was a joke, but to think that someone like Fenrir is truly within him? This is a nightmare coming true for me." a familiar voice said. It was the scared man who called Fenrir a crazy wolf.
The moment that Lucas laid his eyes on the scarred man, he laughed. All of his teeth were visible.
"You shouldn't have shown yourself. If you would have hid somewhere, then he would have forgotten about you. But now, you are back here. I guess that death is the only thing that is left for you." Lucas said. He disappeared from where he stood.
The scarred man quickly raised the axe in his hands. He then slashed forward towards what appeared to be empty air.
Clang!
"Interesting. How did you manage to see the trajectory of that slash? I thought that all of you were ordinary humans. Looks like I am actually in for a pleasant surprise in here." Lucas looked shocked.
"We are all the warriors from the hell rooms. We are the best of the best. You must have faced off with imposter warriors before. In our time, there was no match for us, and the gods had to descend to take us to Valhalla because we did not have a place in the mortal realm. What will you understand? You sold your soul to the devil to obtain such power. You do not know the meaning of true power." the scarred man said.
"Are you kidding me? Did you just say that the only reason that I have this power is because I sold my soul to Fenrir? You are a funny guy. You aren't the most studious person, arent you? Or you would have known that Fenrir doesn't exactly crave for souls. He craves for destruction and murder. You might have been unmatched in whatever hole you lived in, but in the rest of the world, I had to fight with actual warriors who knew that there was always a higher mountain." Lucas said
The scarred man raised his axe to hack at Lucas. The axe almost hit Lucas' white fur, when his whole figure distorted all of a sudden. Lucas appeared behind the scarred man. It was at this point that all the other warriors also tried to attack Lucas.
"So this is all that you can do now? No! I actually encourage you guys to attack me all at a time., After all, this is the only way that you will have a chance." Lucas laughed maniacally.
"Dont fall for his taunts. He is actually very powerful. Just make sure that he becomes wounded. He doesn't even have a mark on his white fur. Let us dye it in red." Egil roared. He jumped onto Lucas.
Lucas shook back with surprise.
"You want to climb me? Do you actually dare?" Lucas looked furious. He howled loudly, and some of the warriors in front of him had to clutch their ears to stop the noise from breaking their eardrums.
"That came out wrong." Fenrir commented.
"Now is not the time for jokes. I am angry because of your stupid father, and I want somewhere to vent." Lucas said as he swept a few warriors with his paw. All of the crashed to one of the walls of the base.
"Start barraging him with arrows. He cannot avoid all of them." Egil shouted.
The moment he said that the whole ceiling was filled with black dots. Lucas glanced up. Numerous arrows were about to reach him.
Lucas flickered, and arrows upon arrows fell on the ground. Egil heard shrieks all around him. But he knew that he recognized these sounds. He looked around him, and saw that his troupe of twenty people were down to ten people, and he did not even notice that people diosapered. He looked forward towards the flickering Lucas, and understood what was happening.
Lucas was moving at such a high speed and taking the people on Egil's side and killing them with the barrage of arrows. He was killing them off with their own attacks.
"Stop firing. That bastard is acting so cowardly. To use a human as a shield. Shameless!" Egil barked.
Soon, the arrows stopped falling on Lucas, and he also stopped moving. He then glanced at Egil.
"Looks like you lost quite a number of your men. So then, don't you think that your tactic was actually pretty useful?" Lucas laughed.
"You bastard. How could someone like you act so cowardly? This power is wasted on you. You do not deserve to be called strong." Egil spat.
"Cowardly? I am not the one who is attacking a single person with twenty others on my side. Trust me when I say this, no one is deserving of their power." Lucas scoffed. He then looked at the scarred man.
"It looks like there is no one who can actually disturb our quick bout again. Let us continue. After all, you have to die today, and that is a given." Lucas said.
Once again, his body flicikered. The scarred man put his axe horizontally and used the broad part of the axe head to block the incoming attack.
"Do you think that with such an incredible speed, I will actually attack you right where you are holding up your shield? You cannot match my speed, and you cannot follow my attack. You can only guess where my attack is coming, and at such speeds, I can change that position whenever I want to." the scarred man heard a voice behind his head.
He quickly turned back in preparation for an attack from there, but nothing happened.
Splurt!
The scarred man fell forward as he coughed out blood. He looked behind him, the place where he was initially expecting the attack.
"My, my. Why would you not trust yourself even a little bit? I was actually attacking you from the front. To think that you actually trust your enemy more than yourself." Lucas said playfully.
"You bastard. Brothers, attack. I will need a few minutes to recover." the man said.
"Do you think that you can actually survive this? When I want you dead? That is not going to happen. Even in your wildest dreams. Why don't you go ahead and say your prayers?" Lucas said. He then raised his snow white paw. Beneath his feet, red blood was visible. He was walking through grounds bathed in blood after all.
On the paw, three long claws could be seen. Lucas aimed the paw at the scarred man, and all of a sudden, one of the claws disappeared.
