Chapter 102 - Fighting Immediately
The roaring crowd halted to a stop as they all looked at the new arrivals with shock and silence. Lucas walked in, and behind him, the rest of the men from the first room trailed by. All the men and women in the room were pointing at them and murmuring to each other.
Lucas chuckled as he looked back.
"Where do you guys sit?" he asked them.
"In the front. We have the honor of sitting the closest to the gods as we all feast." Ragnar said.
Lucas nodded as he continued walking forwards. He looked to the sides. There were tables everywhere, and it seemed that the people who designed this place forgot to bring an interior designer, because everything was so arbitrarily put together that it looked only chaotic. Lucas could see the table that was designated for the first room, because it was the only one that was empty.
As the group moved forward, all of the men on the right and the women on the left looked at them with clenched jaws and fiery eyes.
Lucas also spotted Angela, who nodded towards him. Lucas nodded back as he continued to walk forward. He took the head of the table, but the others did not respond. They just went with it, and sat on the other end of the table.
Lucas turned his head right towards a raised platform in front of him.
"I presume that Odin hasn't arrived as of yet. Clearly, he also does not have a sense of time and whatnot." Lucas said.
"He will come here when he comes here." Erik scowled.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today." Lucas chuckled here as he got up. He glanced at the center of the huge hall. There was a fighting ring there, and although the fighting stopped with the arrival of Lucas and the others, there were still two in the ring, and they were presumably fighting until they arrived.
There were a lot of people around the ring as well, and they were all looking at him.
Lucas took a few steps, but it seemed that with a few steps, he covered a vast distance. He appeared in front of the fighting ring almost instantly.
"Why did you guys stop all of a sudden? Come on. Fight. It was just getting interesting." Lucas laughed.
"When did you arrive in Valhalla? The new generation does not have anyone worthy of entering the hell rooms, much less the first room. How is it that you have entered the room, and also sat in the head of that table?" a man next to him asked.
"I am just a temporary guest here. You won't see me here much. Odin isn't going to allow me to stay here after I die. I will probably be pushed to the depths of hell after I die. So why not enjoy as much as I can before I lose this opportunity forever?" Lucas chuckled.
The men around him looked at Lucas with suspicious eyes. He disregarded all of them and looked at the two in the ring. They was a man and a woman in the ring.
"Come on. Why did you guys stop fighting? It is getting so boring. And why the hell is Valhalla this silent? This is a feast. You must be joking. Why is everyone so dull? Are all of you really the warriors of Midgard? Clearly, you are not." Lucas shouted.
This sparked the nerves of everyone there. They started roaring, and soon, a chant came about.
"Take the newcomer to the ring. Take the newcomer to the ring." the sentence was repeated over and over. Lucas grinned as he looked at the two in the ring.
"Looks like your time is up," he said. He then jumped. He jumped over the huge mesh wall that surrounded the fighting ring and landed in the ring. He then started by taking off his blazer and loosening his tie.
"I don't want these to be ruined by you guys. This costs more than your life," he said as he placed his blazer, tie and even his shirt on the side. His body was rippling and his muscles glistened in the light. There were scars all over, and the warriors around him cheered.
"Fight. Fight. Fight." they shouted.
"That's right. Where the hell is the first contender? I didn't come here to just flex. Come on. You are warriors. How can all of you be cowards?" Lucas shouted.
"I shall fight you, you arrogant newcomer. Just because you were put in the first room, doesn't mean that you are actually powerful. They clearly made a big mistake, and I will show the valkyries how big a mistake they made." the man on the ring said with a raging look.
"Come on then. I am waiting." Lucas smiled
The man charged forward. He punched forward. Lucas did not even attempt to avoid the punch. He swatted the wrist away with his palm, causing the man to lose his balance. He then used his elbow to slam the man to the ground.
Urgh!
The man coughed out blood almost immediately.
"How are all of you in such a horrible state? I thought that my disciples were bad, but you guys are worse." Lucas knit his eyebrows.
"Get out Joreph. You are not worthy to stay in the ring any longer. You lost in a single move. Let one of the actual fighters show you how it is done." a voice came from outside the ring. Lucas saw that the one who spoke had a few women in his arms. They were not drop dead gorgeous but they did look good, and it was clear that it was difficult to land women in a place that had so few.
"Looks like you are one of the gang leaders here. Come on. I am always up for a challenge. I have to pass my time until Odin comes in after all. I don't want to sit and play on my phone all day." Lucas taunted the man.
"Do not push me, newcomer. You are still a child. There is much in the world that you have not seen, and you shall see that even though the hell room number one is strong, there are people who are stronger who have not shown themselves yet." the man sneered.
"And are you one of them? You don't look that powerful though." Lucas asked. The ring was empty now, and the two who were fighting earlier had left the ring. Lucas was all alone, and he taunted the man to come into the ring.
The man had an enraged face as he jumped. His jump was as high as Lucas' and he landed into the ring.
The warriors around him cheered louder and it was deafening.
"Defeat him Frode. Defeat him!" the men cheered.
"Looks like all of them want me to win as well. You clearly had no advice coming into here. But once you enter Valhalla, you must make friends first. You shouldn't just tell everyone that they are cowards. Now, you are public enemy number one." Frode smiled.
"Are we going to bicker all day like women, or are we going to fight, like men?" Lucas howled.
"Fight! Fight! Fight!" the men hollered.
Frode's face changed. He started taking Lucas seriously. He stepped closer to Lucas, but he did not blindly charge in like the previous man did. Lucas did not move though, and he was just turning to make sure that he had eye sight of Frode. Soon, Frode was in arm's length of Lucas.
"Now, you are dead." Frode grinned. He punched forward. As before, Lucas just swatted away the punch. But unlike last time, Frode still had his balance. He then clenched his left fist and punched it into the right flank that was left open.
"So you can use your brain? But so can I." Lucas commented. But he did not jump to the side to evade it. Instead, he took the punch straight to his side. Frode felt like he punched an iron plank. Lucas then clenched his own fist to punch forward. Frode's face changed. He took his hands to block the punch.
But still, the sheer force of the punch forced him back a few feet.
"You are powerful. But you lost because you did not know your opponent. The hell room number one is called that because it has the greatest warriors in all the land. But still, I went in there and survived. I also sat down at the head of the table. Not a single word was spoken. Can you not take any hints? I am not just as strong as them. I am stronger. So how about this. I will give you a handicap. I will not use my hands. Now you have a chance." Lucas said.
