Chapter 52 – Another Day in the Office
Edited by The Darkest Knight#4796
"Onii-chan, would you like some juice?" I looked at the person talking to me. She was none other than my twin sister, Ruby, who was still looking very cute because she had just come home after performing from work. She still had her ribbon and those cute clothing.
"Ah, Thanks." I accepted a bottle of juice from her. "Aren't you tired?" I asked her while she sat beside me and enjoyed her own drink.
"Well, after my experience filming with you a while ago… Hm, doing a job like this isn't that exhausting," Ruby answered pretty honestly since she had already had a fairly hectic day in the past, so she didn't feel too tired.
"Is that so?" Honestly, when I heard those words from her. I felt kind of complicated when someone her age said something like that. However, I was a busy person myself, and perhaps it was because Ruby lived with someone who was always busy working that she became like that person.
"Ugh, what is this drink?" I gulped the juice from her without looking at what kind of juice she gave me. I showed my trust in her only to be betrayed by such a weird flavor juice.
"Hahaha, this drink is too sweet and gives a weird taste. So funny!!" Ruby didn't answer my question and laughed while drinking the juice, which may be the same kind of juice I had. "Sorry, Onii-chan, but this drink got me interested, but I didn’t want to be the only one who tried it. So that's why I gave you one." Ruby said while flashing a big smile at me.
I frowned, but for some reason, Ruby put on a proud expression on her face and said.
"Look, I chose this specifically. Let's enjoy this drink." Ruby said as she acted immaturely. She rarely does this kind of stuff, which made me wonder. "Can you finish it?" She asked while waiting for me to finish my drink and stared at me with those puppy eyes.
"Hm, well— I got it for free anyway," I responded while slowly drinking the weird juice. Ruby rarely acted like this, so I thought she had her own reason, or she just got bored and genuinely wanted to prank me… Prank huh—
"Hm, it doesn't feel very impactful—" Ruby commented, staring at me and sighing lightly. While I just stared at her a bit pityingly.
"However, I have done what was asked of me; in other words, my duty is over. It looks like trying to prank my big brother isn't that fun." Ruby said as she threw the empty bottle from her hand toward the trash bin.
"No, that's not a good reaction— Aqua-kun— I want more reaction and expression!!"
It wasn't that long before someone came out from her hiding place while, in her hand, a small camera recorded my interaction with Ruby. That person was a woman in her early twenties with short blonde hair with bright blueish eyes using contact lenses. She didn't even hesitate to wear those kinds of cosplay with devil horns on her head.
She was no other than one of the members, Starlight, Mem-cho.
"Well, honestly, something like this wouldn't make me overreact, right?" I replied quickly, without a hint of hesitation in my tone.
"Oh, well. I got what I want anyway." Mem-cho said as she put down her camera.
"So you're making another video for youtube?"
"Yeah, of course. It's my job to show Starlight from another perspective!" Mem-cho answered while showing her flawless smile. It looked like she had fun with this.
Just like I said, I didn't know how the Idol industry worked, but because our company had a connection with V-tubing and Strawberry Pro also had YouTube in their hands.
Even though it wasn't planned, the idea itself came from Mem-cho. It may be several months after Starlight’s debut. Mem-cho talked about how to put their activities on Youtube once in a while. To show different sides of them and, of course, to make them closer to their fans.
Honestly, I didn't know if this would work well, and I didn't think Starlight would be the first one to do it, but it looked like the company was hesitant too. Since I knew what Mem-cho was capable of, I thought she was actually good in the manga as a YouTuber.
I helped and told her that she could do it if she wanted to and she actually did it. Honestly, it was actually too good, even though it started with a small thing. It became bigger and bigger and the channel started collaborating with other idols occasionally.
"Well, I'm really good at this." Mem-cho said with a smug face. "It's fine. I will edit it to make it interesting." She continued.
"Hm— Well, are you busy with something, Aqua-kun," Mem-cho asked as she looked at me, sitting with a lot of paper in front of me.
"Not really; I'm just thinking about my next movies. I have a lot of ideas, but I want to make a movie in which I could become an actor. But I wonder if there's a good one. Then I also want to avoid making horror movies, or else I'll be known as an actor or screenwriter who only makes horror movies." I replied while playing with my pen.
"Well, that sounds hard."
"Yeah, to be honest, I am kind of interested in making fantasy or action movies. But I wonder if it would be great… The only thing I could think of about fantasy movies with children is something like a chosen wizard fighting an evil lord without a nose or four siblings going to the otherworld after entering the wardrobe."
Yeah, I thought about Harry Potter and the Narnia series as one of my beloved fantasy movies when I was a child. I especially liked The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, the Witches, and The Wardrobe when I saw them as a child. But these movies had such a big budget, and I wonder if they would be a success even without their source even existing. These movies were book adaptations, after all. I read Harry Potter from five to seven because I couldn't wait for another movie for months after watching the fourth one. While in Narnia, I never read one, so I couldn't even write the source at all.
"I don't know why, but it feels like you're really emphasizing that the wicked wizard should be noseless."
"To look silly, but evil— I guess—"
"Is that so— I think you look afflicted. Is there anything you want to clear your mind about?"
"Hm, I wonder if I can make a movie called Karate Kid, and I can make it as a half-Japanese moved to New York and got bullied before learning Karate to fight back his bullies. But it looks too simple—"
"Hahaha, do you hear what I'm saying, Aqua-kun?" Mem-cho said that since I didn't answer her and continued muttering my thoughts to her. And she may have found what I was doing a bit not polite and pinched my cheek as if she was trying to express her annoyance with my attitude.
"What are you doing, Mem-cho? Hm, geez— You're saying you try to make a video for youtube, but what is this? You're playing with Aqua-kun?" I heard someone talking behind me, and I immediately knew who she was from the voice.
"No, I just finished making it and had a little conversation with him, Rin!"
"You can't just make that as an excuse since we have our schedule, and today we have dance training."
"Yeah, I know. But Rin, Aqua-kun looks like he's having a hard time."
"Eh, really?" Rin moved and looked at me with a pondered and worried expression.
"Yeah, that's why I told him if he wanted something to clear his mind."
"Um, that's a good idea. Is there anything you want, Aqua-kun? How about some delicious cake? I heard getting some sugar is nice for your brain." Rin told me. It wasn't long before I was surrounded by these two girls that sounded eager to spoil me, which shows how close my relationship with members of Starlight is.
But it looked like someone wasn't happy and separated me from them.
"Geez, you two—always spoil him. That's not good!!" Ruby pulled me out from Mem-cho and Rin while she pouted and stared at them. No, she glared at them.
"Eh, aren't you a cheapskate?"
"No good— it is no good."
Anyway, it looked like it was another peaceful day in Strawberry Pro— I guess.
