Chapter 48 – And then three years passed First
Edited by The Darkest Knight#4796
Then the days just flew by; after the movie's success, I got a lot of work, and it had been three years since I came back to acting or maybe my first time becoming the main character in the movie. Well, I didn't have that much role in the movies in the past, either. With that success, of course, I got various offers to do starring roles in movies, dramas, and the like.
The success of the award-winning movie made all the names listed, including me, who got an award as a newcomer actor, deservedly increase in popularity, especially when the movie was nominated in the Oscar category for best foreign language.
Unfortunately, like in my previous life, Children of Heaven failed to win the nomination since other movies got it. Even so, the success of getting nominated made my previous interview, according to some pundits and gossipers, too arrogant and slightly changed its narrative to be more positive. Although some magazine outlets revealed that Children of Heaven would have won the competition had it not included my name in the movie script.
This was just a fraction of those who became enthusiastic about my career. There were some pundits and internet users who wished I could star in a movie in Hollywood. However, it's an exciting idea. In the end, I chose what seemed to be beyond their expectations by making an appearance in a TV series.
When the news came out, everyone was shocked because they were expecting me to act in a movie with a bigger budget or even to appear in Hollywood instead of appearing in a TV series in Japan. However, it didn't take long for everyone to realize why I chose this TV series, especially when the TV-Series appeared in the news because the TV series that I chose gave me freedom in making scripts.
Not only that, the main cast was actually me and Ruby, which made people quite angry. Even so, some people were curious about what I would do.
Well, like the movie Children of Heaven, I didn't work alone and was assisted by other writers. Even so, you could say that I oversaw all the stories of the TV series. It all happened because of my agreement with the TV studio that accepted my offer to let me create the story of the TV series.
The TV series itself told the story of a big, grand, and luxurious house that almost everyone in the village knew and every time someone tried to enter would be pranked by the two twins, following the movie Home Alone.
However, people didn't know why the twins were always trying to bully people away from the house. It was a mystery that was covered in 10 episodes that, although not the same, the tv-series followed the storyline that the house could make people crazy and kill each other like one of my favorite horror TV series from Netflix, the Haunting of hill house.
My next movie was also a horror movie called the sixth sense starring Bruce Willis in my previous life. I could say that I was very lucky that I never got spoiled about the movie, and when I first watched the movie at my friend's dorm in my past life, it was one of the plot twists I could never guess. However, because of that, I thought of making a movie that had a different theme.
I didn't want people to know me as a horror guy with a twist like the directors of those movies.
"Therefore, you are thinking hard like this? Here?" Kana spoke to me, who was daydreaming in a room in Strawberry Pro's office.
"Yeah, I'm thinking about making a movie while using me as the main character again. But I can’t make one." I replied to Kana's reply while doodling with a pencil on a piece of paper, trying to think of something.
"He— So you've your share of hardships?"
"Of course, I'm just twelve years old…"
I replied back to Kana, who was sitting in Strawberry Pro's room as if it was hers. However, I was also acting the same way because this room was reserved for Strawberry Pro.'s child actors.
In other words, Kana was no longer a freelancer and joined Strawberry Pro., even though she only joined two years ago. This was because it took a year before Kana's parents fell apart. Although, I guess it wasn't that bad. Maybe, I didn't know how bad the manga was, but I started to move my plan when Kana's father started having an affair.
Yeah, even after Kana became famous after the movie, because of her mother, who always tried to be involved with everything and made Kana's job hard, came by again. It looked like it made her mother spiral, and she became shabby because she didn't even go to the hairdresser. Her parents' arguments continued at home.
That's why…
One day two years ago, I went to Kana's father. Of course, I wasn't alone; someone from the Ryuju Family accompanied me. No, Kana's father was basically summoned by me. Because I don't think he would accept a call from a child. Therefore, when he saw me, his face was very shocked.
"Aren't-you?" He said.
"Yeah, my name is Hoshino Aquamarine. Your daughter's colleague and her friend. You may know me very well." I replied without giving him any friendly manner.
"Well—" He wanted to say something, but when he saw a person behind me. He just stays silent. He must have been confused when someone called him with evidence of his affair, and the person he met was an acquaintance of his daughter, Kana.
"I don't think we need to talk much. Since we know why we are both here?"
"No, sorry. But I don't think—"
"I'm sorry, but I don't think acting like a fool is good. You've already seen the investigation results, including the photo, right?." I stopped him and looked him right in the eyes. He was either very surprised by my boldness or perhaps angered by my impoliteness that when our eyes met, he frowned.
"That—Ugh, what do you want?"
"Well, honestly, I don't really care about your affair. The only thing I care about is Kana, after all."
"Kana? What about my daughter?"
"Well, yeah, it's all about her. She would be sad if she knew her father had an affair while always getting into fights with her mother when they were at home. Isn't that bad for her? She works hard as a child actor, but her parents are just being assholes."
"That's—!!" He may have felt embarrassed and angry, but at the same time, what I said was a truth he couldn't refute.
"Haa—" I sighed for a moment. If my memory is correct, the manga never said whether Kana's parents had divorced before I continued my word. "Since you don't divorce your wife, and it's still early. So I can assume you're still in love with your wife and just overwhelmed with her attitude. Especially her obsession with Kana's acting career, right?"
"That's—"
"I don't get why you didn't cut her out of that obsession."
"She didn't want to— It's her dream, which is the reason we're fighting in the first place."
"But it's her dream. Not Kana’s— She may force herself and try her best because it's her mother's dream. Don't you ever think like that? Or you just let your wife do anything she wants and force your children like that."
"..." Kana's father was silent.
"Anyway, that's you and your wife's problem. What I want is for her to stop, and I may help with that."
"Help?"
"Yeah, how about just telling her to take a rest and let our agency take her?"
"I don't think she will ever hear that."
"She will since I will talk to Kana. She will love that her parents won't fight anymore."
"That—Yeah, this may be for the best."
A week after that, Arima Kana joined Strawberry Pro, especially since she would be in Miyako's hands directly. Then after she joined, Kana told me that her mom started to calm down, and one morning, after such circumstances had passed for about a week, her mother apologized to her father and me.
"I was wrong... I'm sorry."
Her mom cried as she said that, and the evil demon on her face left. After that, she started doing household chores as a housewife and working part-time. Kana thanked me for what I did.
After entering a big agency like ours, Kana's job became stable before once again rising to fame since, in the end, Kana was a good actor for someone her age and, of course, in the future too.
