Chapter 38 – Filming First
Edited by The Darkest Knight#4796
When I told my plan to Ichigo, he looked at me momentarily as if wondering something and just said it was a great suggestion.
"Why don't we do both? We have plenty of budgets to allocate, and this is a great way to promote our new idol group."
"That's true. We can do that."
"Yes, a small documentary and performing with B-Komachi would also be good. Honestly, it would be great if our new idol group also had a song and performed with B-Komachi. The oldest member of B-Komachi will only last for two years before graduating, and the youngest, Ai, still has four years left… B-Komachi wouldn't last long, and I think most of the members are already looking for another job outside of being an idol. I am grateful that you helped Watanabe with the acting job too."
"Well, I only recommended her to Taishi-sensei. It's up to him… he likes her act so that she may have a good future with her act."
"That's a relief."
Most idols graduate when they turn thirty, and I don't know if that's the same as in my past life. But in this world, it was natural and a reality for the girls who worked as idols to be aware of. Or the reality of the idol industry in this world.
"I wonder if some B-Komachi fans would think this as passing a torch?" I asked Ichigo, and to my surprise, he agreed with my statement.
"Well, there will definitely be fans who think that way. Although we don't want to say it, what we are doing right now is to create a new generation of idol group talent for our company after B-Komachi disbands."
"That's true. Ah, about the song, I wonder what you think about this one." I said while giving him a notebook with lyrics to a song I liked in my past life. It was originally made using Vocaloid before being covered by one of my favorite YouTubers, and I have listened to that song since.
"Hm, this? Is a bit different from any idol song that I know."
"Is that so? Well, I wonder if you like it. The melody is like this." I sang the song called Beat Eater in my previous life.
"Oh, that's quite nice to hear." Ichigo commented.
"Yeah, glad if you like it. But I think this still needs some professional help." I told Ichigo, who agreed with my assessment.
"That's true. I will take care of this. But there's something I want to ask you something about?"
"Hm, what is it? Is there anything wrong with all of this?" I titled my head as I was confused since I didn't know if there was anything wrong with all of my suggestions.
"No, I think all of these ideas are really good. I was just wondering if your mother knew about you making this song?"
"Mother? What about her?"
"Isn't she going to be like—praising you for how amazing you're, but why don't you tell her and make a song for her first…"
"Ah, yeah… that's really going to happen. It's fine. I've already prepared her one."
"Well, that's something good to hear. Since she will pout and sulk."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah, it's fine. She has become quite expressive."
After talking with Ichigo, I left the office since I could only wait for my plan to become fruitful. For now, the trio of our new idol group started to take their photo session and maybe make a short video introduction. It may take several days.
Ichigo and I let them give input on the name of their idol group and how they would operate, such as who their center would be and so on. Yes, we let them do little things for themselves. In hope that the bond between the three of them would be strengthened by doing these things together.
But it was a good time since I needed to focus on other things since finally all of the casting and the schedule of filming the movie was done. Well, since we need to search for a place and other things before starting filming. So my first time acting in a big movie as one of the main characters started.
***
Children of Heaven was a movie that was nominated for an Oscar in my previous life. It was a movie with the plot following a brother and sister and their adventures over a lost pair of shoes. Since it was an Iranian movie, of course, I needed to change the story to make it sense in this Japanese society.
Ultimately, the story changed to a family of three with a single mother who barely had money. Nine-year-old child Takeda had always helped his mother and was trusted by his mother. Until one day, he made mistakes that made him lose his sister's shoes when he tried to purchase vegetables.
It was pretty much nearly identical before the story became different but with the same core about the two siblings trying to get their sister's shoes. Determined, Takeda entered the race, which gave away shoes if he won third place.
Yui, I have good news.
What news?
I am selected for the race.
What race?
Long-Distance Running. The third-best runner gets a pair of new sneakers.
Why the third?
The First and Second prizes are something else. If I come in third, I'll give you the shoes...
What if you don't come in third?
I'll be third, for sure.
"Cuttt!! Start the check!"
I heard Taishi tell the crew, and because of the check, I went to the director's side to see. The scene that I acted in appeared on the monitor, and there seemed to be no particular problem with my acting. I may not have acted for a long time, but I used my spare time during the year to practice various things. Then it seemed that my acting was still pretty good. I hope to do even better than this.
Ah, by the way, the actress who played my little sister was no other than Arima Kana. Since she was smaller than me and had good acting skills, we couldn't use Ruby, too, since people knew about us as twins. At the same time, the other actor was a member of B-Komachi, Watanabe.
Taishi said, "Well? Isn't it good?"
"Yeah, I think it's good, too," I replied.
"Well, ok, then…."
Taishi checks the cuts with me. Occasionally, I did that to learn about directing and other stuff, and Taishi also let me know about my acting when he wasn't that happy with my acting. Sorry for being a troublesome child actor.
"Okaaay! 10-minutes break!" Taishi told all of the member staff and cast to get some rest. When the staff got those signals, some of them took a break while the others who needed to prepare for the next scene still ran around in a busy manner.
As for me, I went to Miyako, who became my manager, and waited in the seat in the corner of the shooting site, with drinks and snacks there. But it wasn't my exclusive seat either because Kana also followed me there.
"Good work, it was done in one shot. As expected with you, Aqua. Here, have some drinks!" Kana said with a smiling face, but I could see that she may be forced by someone nearby and that someone is obviously her mother. I mean, even I could see from her face how eager her mother was since she most likely ordered Kana to be nice and closer to me.
Geez, I wonder if I need to do something here…
