The Thunder Law Sect
“Follow me.” An old man came out of the sect and gestured to the new disciples who followed the command.
TAK TAK TAK
As the disciples followed, The Elder gave an introduction to the Sect.
“The Thunder Law Sect was founded by Sect Ancestor Lei Tianfeng who also created our Thunder Visceral Refinement Technique that allowed us to be among the top sects in terms of combat prowess.”The Elder’s eyes glowed with pride as he recounted the tale of the foundation.
“In those days Only two sects were there: The Supreme Yin and Divine Sun. These two had gained independence from The Xia Family by battling them for 20 nights and 21 days ! Lei Tianfeng was inspired by this act of independence and thus cultivated to The Grand Master Stage and fought The Dragon King of that time. In that fierce duel both sides were weakened to incredible degrees and thus Lei Tianfeng forced The Dragon King to sign a Blood Treaty which made it so that The Thunder Law and Xia Dynasty shall not commit any actions that are directly hostile against each other.”
With the specific wording that the Elder had used it was certainly implied that indirect conflicts such as proxy battles could indeed occur.
Soon they crossed the garden and could see the sect. Numerous huts made of thatch could be seen forming a circle around the sect with houses being in front of these huts and finally a tall tower in the centre of the circle with a large flat structure being visible at the top.
“The sect is divided into three sections, the huts are the residence of the disciples with Outer Disciples being at the very back and the inner disciple residencies and core disciples are in front of the other, then the houses belong to the legacy inheritors and Elders. As for that tower that is the place where our Sect Master Lei Tie resides.” The Elder spoke with reverence and turned to the new disciples.
“You all will be given one week to completely destroy your cultivation and if we find you’ve not destroyed it then it will be considered as desecration and you shall be expelled from the sect !” The words of The Elder shocked the disciples.
“Destroy our Cultivation !” All of those present knew just how dangerous the process was. It literally meant crippling oneself. Those who cultivated the physique would have to break all our their bones and tear their flesh and keep themselves from healing for twenty minutes to destroy their cultivation and as for those who cultivated their intellect it was even more tragic, there were several infamous cases of geniuses turned vegetables after their mind was crippled.
“Don’t worry about the after effects The Sects have created an extremely elaborate procedure that completely negates any worse case scenarios.” The Elder revealed with pride.
“You all have already been given a token that denotes your rank and your housing, so be off then. I expect all of you to be present this evening as there will be an extremely important event taking place which will decide your influence within the sect.” Saying such The Elder departed leaving the new disciples alone who quickly went their own ways afterall in such a new place the best thing to do was to just go to a safe place.
“This should’ve been given to me before the journey began.” Ling Xuan pulled a card from his robe, it was indeed the aforementioned token.
Disciple Name - Ling Xuan
Sect Occupation - Legacy Inheritor
Martial Level - Peak Adept
Cultivation Technique - Four Pole Star.
Housing - Behind the 3rd House from the East.
“Looks like I was judged pretty well and became a Legacy Inheritor, let’s see housing ‘Behind the 3rd House from the East?’ it should be that one!” Ling Xuan quickly found his residence and began heading towards it.
As Ling Xuan was going to his residence, up on the tower a figure was spectating him.
“Why did Xia Fugui personally tell me to take care of this boy?” The figure was none other than Lei Tei, the current Grand Master of The Thunder Law Sect.
Lei Tei frowned for a moment and sighed as he remembered The Dragon King’s words.
.--------------------------------------------------------------------------
As The Sect Leaders continuously bickered and chose one disciple after the other, they finally arrived at Ling Xuan’s report.
“This boy’s performance is full of Yang, he clearly belongs to The Divine Sun Sect !” The Divine Sun Sect Master announced and every single Sect Leader looked at him.
“What the heck does him having Yang have to do with him belonging to your Sect ! He clearly has an affinity to our Supreme Yin Sect as he is clearly feminine !” The Supreme Yin Mistress argued.
“What feminine ! He is clearly someone who is hotblooded and thus he should belong to our Thunder Law Sect !”The Thunder Law Sect Master refuted.
“Shut up, can't you see that he can only be in our Sect !” Another Sect Master spoke yet their claim was instantly drowned in the sea of others.
Xia Fugui watched all of this from his position at the head of the table and couldn’t help but sigh.
“These Sect Masters are literal children even after they’ve become Grand Masters, what a tragedy.” Xia Fugui reminisced.
Xia Fugui raised his ring finger slightly and in that moment every single Sect Master became docile again.
“This Ling Xuan he’s from the Glorious Flag City right ?” Xia Fugui asked, although he already knew the answer.
“Yes Lord Emperor.” The Divine Sun Sect Master answered with realisation dawning upon him.
“Very well then send him to the Thunder Law Sect.” Xia Fugui.
“Understood Lord Emperor !” The Thunder Law Sect Master happily replied.
“Take good care of that youth, little Tie.” Xia Fugui looked towards The Thunder Law Sect Master.
“Yes Sire !” The Thunder Law Sect Master hurriedly agreed. The less a Sect Master talks to The Dragon Emperor, the more probable their deaths.
“Very well with that out of the way, continue your useless babble again.” With that said Xia Fugui lowered his finger and closed his eyes as if going back to thinking of some useless dilemma once again.
—------------------------------------------------------
“Whatever the case may be I’ll keep the boy under my watch, there should be something special about him.” The Thunder Law Sect Master narrowed his eyes and decided. To him it didn’t matter whether one was a peerless prodigy or a gifted of the heavens after all the key to Grand Master was in his hands. It only mattered whether they could be trusted.
THUMP
The wooden door to the house closed with a strange sound as Ling Xuan entered his house.
“Hmm although it isn’t the best, at least there’s proper plumbing.” Ling Xuan sighed in relief.
“By the way as you were heading for the house The Thunder Law Sect Master was watching you.” Urizen as always gave a surprising fact in their monotonous voice.
“Huh ! Why would the Sect Master be watching me ?”
Who wouldn’t watch a prodigy that was friends with Shang Zhang?” Urizen replied.
“Ah well there is nothing I can do anyways.” Ling Xuan sighed.
KNOCK KNOCK
Suddenly someone knocked on Ling Xuan’s door.
“Now who is here?” Ling Xuan thought as he opened the door.
