Tarthocas : Chronicles of the Transmigrating Scribe

The Great Scam of The Regal Peacock

BANG !

Ling Xuan had actually grabbed Li Meiyu while he was 'flying' in order to slow down yet he had once again underestimated something. The sheer

"Well that was not expected." Ling Xuan stared at the scene awkwardly, yes he had managed to stop his flight yet Li Meiyu was not in the best of states.

Due to being inadvertently transferred a part of Ling Xuan's Kinetic energy she was thrown face flat on the ground with her face being filled with wounds instantly even though the earth was soft in nature.

"Should I lift her up? Ehhh let's not." Ling Xuan decided against it as he wanted to leave this area as soon as possible due to the sound of him being propelled and resounded everywhere and has surely attracted some attention.

Yet just before he was about to leave, he remembered something.

He picked up one of Li Meiyu's legs and examined it.

"These protruding veins are a result of Qi coming into contact with the fragile veins of the body causing a slight change in the physique." Ling Xuan deduced.

"But Qi actually being stored in the body is a rare occurrence and this girl does not indicate signs of being a gifted one, thus the only way is through practising a technique ! Well, it looks like I just stumbled upon a treasure." Ling Xuan got excited, the only Qi 'storage' like technique he had was The Hidden Serpent Pill and it could be heavily doubted on it being a Qi storage technique.

"If I can obtain information about such a technique, I can easily create a technique of my own using the Library !"

"Wait a second, such a technique coupled with the user being of The Regal Peacock Sect !" Ling Xuan suddenly remembered something.

He immediately went to The Library.

"Kanuya !"

—---------------------------------------------

As soon as Ling Xuan entered the Library, he immediately sped for the shelves.

"No wait ! If I do that it's going to take a very long time and will be exhausting for me." Ling Xuan stopped himself.

"Wait can't I just ask the Library ?" The idea wandered across Ling Xuan's mind for a while before he agreed.

"There's no harm in asking after all."

"Library ! Giveth me thy book about the thingamajig subject !" Carto summoned his inner shakespeare.

As soon as he gave the command a book appeared from the darkness and flew straight towards his stomach.

"Oh shit !" Carto panicked as he saw it heading for him and at a high speed and quickly curled up to avoid damage.

Yet nothing happened, he saw that the book was floating in front of him with a strange title.

Got Em

"This library is a bloody mood." Carto sighed in annoyance and started reading the book when he suddenly felt something touching his feet and looked down to see a chair.

"Aww, the library is so nice."

Carto sat down and began reading.

—--------------------------------------

"Looks like I was somewhat right." Carto frowned as he finished reading the book. His conjecture at the technique actually being a Qi Storage one was indeed correct and what he discovered was more shocking.

During the last twenty years, there have been many prodigies who hailed from sects that were renowned throughout the Empire.

Among them was a certain martial artist of the Regal Peacock Sect who managed to create a special martial technique which allowed Qi to be stored in one's body, namely the legs.

This was in and of itself revolutionary as before this methods of Qi storage were few and far of which most required a special constitution, yet with this technique one needn't worry about physique nor gift only hard work mattered.

At first everything was good, the family of the martial artist was granted a high position in the sect and the martial artist themselves was given huge amounts of resources that allowed them to break through to the Master Realm becoming one of the top powerhouses in both the entire world and sect.

Yet then a shocking truth was revealed, the practitioners of the technique who were not of the martial artist's family all suffered injuries in their legs that crippled them permanently !

Following this news, the sect would launch investigations into the family and the martial technique leading to the discovery that the technique although at first intended to serve it's original design would be altered to a certain degree that although benefited the family of the creator yet would cause terrifying backlashes to others.

After this revelation, the sect would exile the family and kill the technique's creator in order to quell the masses. After this for a significant amount of time the family would disappear into the shadows, taking the technique with them.

"Yet now it's back." Carto understood that the sect never really banished the family and probably kept some of them in the sect to nurture. Of which Li Meiyu was one of them.

"Well my purpose is done, I should probably return." Carto shrugged and closed the book when he noticed a small something poking out of the book.

"Huh ? I didn't notice this before." Carto raised an eye interested in the object.

After pulling it out, he saw it was a crumpled up note with words written.

It is suggested that the user try to find more information related to Qi Storage alongside Mythical Beasts as there may be a connection between the two.

Regards The Computer

[ turn the back of the note, it's important]

"Qi Storage and Mythical Beasts are related ? That is a very weird thing to draw a conclusion on but I guess it makes sense if you think about them being able to control Qi from what Shang Zhang said." Carto held his chin as if in deep thought.

"This Library is a tsundere, even though it trolls me, it still helps me out." Carto said with appreciation.

"Huh what's on the backside ?" While muttering these words he flipped the note to read what it said.

You can just think of what you want, no need to speak in retarded Shakespearean that even a child is better than at than your dry arse.

Regards, The Library 👍

"I take back my words"
