Chapter 45 - To Be Your Husband.
Chapter 45: To Be Your Husband.
Wang AnZhi is currently twenty-three years old, merely one year older than Yan Jing and he had already received a title from the emperor. He was known to be the city’s number one ‘bachelor to marry’, but she wasn’t sure if that was all thanks to his father’s position in court or not.
“WengZhu is here!” Someone yelled excitedly while the entire place turned silent as they watched her slender figure getting off the extremely extravagant carriage.
Wang AnZhi was the first one to reach her, he had offered her a hand after bowing graciously, though his usual grim eyes were flashing with an undisguised awe at her looks, for her cheeks were rosy while her lips were puckered and tinted red, most of all, the distinct peach blossom flower drawn between her forehead was so beautiful and eye-catching that he realized that he could not bear to even blink, as it would cut him off from the ravishing view.
“As per HouYe’s invitation, Ah Luan had shown up.” She flashed him a subtle smile.
“WengZhu’s mere arrival had brightened up my place.” He beamed with delight before leading her into his house while introducing her to the various other invited guests, and to her utter surprise, some of them were names of famous philosophers and poets in the history she knew, though they were still young in age.
To think that Wang AnZhi had the social power of inviting all of these young masters from various houses… He’s definitely not as simple as a minister’s son like he made everyone believed.
Yan Luan had thought the tea party to be where a bunch of young men and women gathered to enjoy the art of tea, but to her surprise, Wang AnZhi’s tea party was nothing of that sort.
He had hosted a number of competition for the guests to participate in, and the first one was named “Bonding With Literacy”, where everyone will gather in a huge garden, each with their own table and tools. The participants would have almost an hour to prepare their work, and the winner will chosen from the amount of votes.
Yan Luan had not participated, as she knew she was lacking in skills of calligraphy and painting, but she stayed to watch the others perform, especially Wang AnZhi, as the words he had written had contained such strength that impacted her momentarily.
The next competition is “Poetry by the Stream”, where the participants would take turns reciting original poetry while enjoying the wine provided. The kettles would be placed atop of floating baskets within the stream so the participants can refill their drinks frequently, plus, due to the somewhat hot weather, ice cubes had been placed within the stream, hence causing the surrounding air to feel much more cooler than other locations.
Poetry was not one of Yan Luan’s interests, hence about two poetry later, she was really to move on.
Wang AnZhi, who had been observing her closely, noticed her boredom instantly and quickly sent a handmaiden to lead her to HuaTing Tang.
(TNote: “Tang 堂” would usually mean one single named building in a residency, furthermore, Tangs are usually living areas, locations assigned for meeting/entertaining guests.)
As they made their way there, the handmaiden proceeded to introduce her to the various locations of the WuAn HouFu, it was built around three years ago, and though it wasn’t at par with HuaiYin HouFu, it was sufficiently unique and the scenery was beautiful.
(TNote: “Fu 府” means residencies, like the entire area of a family. Usually it’ll be “surname-residency”, while “HouFu 侯府” means something like noble residencies.)
Numerous beautiful handmaidens began bringing various types of fruits and tea for her, but still, Yan Luan was entirely bored out of her wits.
“WengZhu wishes to return home?” Her handmaiden inquired respectfully after noticing her lack of enthusiasm.
Yan Luan nodded slightly while tasting an iced fruit from the fruit bowl, she had assumed this tea party to be lively and fun, but reality was harsh, as it was exceptionally boring.
At this point, she would rather play with her little piggy at home…
“In that case, this slave would prepare for your return.” The handmaiden answered respectfully, as the guards and the coachmen were resting within the servant’s quarters.
The handmaiden had not return after half an hour, and Yan Luan, who had finally noticed that something had gone amiss, stood up immediately and proceeded towards the door, but as she stepped through the door-frame, she crashed into someone’s opened arms.
“Eh?” She yelped in surprise, dropping her exquisite fan before flinching at the following loud crash as the emerald decoration shattered upon impact with the ground.
“WengZhu… Is leaving?” Wang AnZhi glanced expressionlessly at the retreating figure, his eyes were filled with deep emotions as his hands twitched from her fading warmth while relishing in the momentarily scent that filled up all of his senses.
“I’m somewhat tired already, hence I will take my leave now… I wouldn’t want to bother HouYe any longer.” Yan Luan smiled faintly at the man in front of her.
(TNote: “HouYe 侯爷” is the a noble’s title, there’ll usually be four HouYe in a country. From what I understood, Wang AnZhi had inherited his father’s position. I figured I would start using HouYe instead of My Lord, because it’s somewhat misleading – even though they mean the same thing, but it didn’t sound correct when Yan Luan said it.)
“Does WengZhu dislike this one? If that’s not the case, why do you never change your reason for excusing yourself from my presence?” He took a step towards her before twirling her hair softly around his finger.
His disrespectful actions sent her into a rage as she quickly backed away from him, “Please keep your hands to yourself, HouYe, my handmaiden is already preparing for my return.” Her voice was almost frigid as warned him away.
The sudden chill in his eyes frightened her, a lot, and she tried to keep her cool as she attempted to move past him, but before she could step out of the door, his arms were already wrapped tightly around her waist.
“Ah! What are you doing! Release me at once!!”
“Leave? Where do you think you’re going? My HouFu isn’t somewhere you can come and go at will, WengZhu, I suggest that you calm down and be good… I promise I’d be gentle.” His eerie chuckle echoed through her ears as he pulled her easily back into the living area before moving quickly towards a guestroom with his palm clamped over her lips to prevent her from screaming and attracting unneeded attention.
“Mmph! Mmph!!!” She squirmed around desperately against his clutches, but their strengths were incomparable as he easily threw her against a couch. His palm left her lips and before she could scream, his warm lips were already clamped tightly over hers with no hesitation.
He was unlike those villains who would end up dying from too long of a dialog, his evil deeds were fierce and precise, leaving her with no room for mercy.
Her eyes were wide in fear and pain as he pinched her cheeks roughly, forcing her lips apart before sliding his slick tongue into her mouth to taste the sweetness he had craved forever.
“Ah! Let… Mmph! Let go of me!!” Her screams were muffled as she struggled against his forceful kiss, releasing her only when he was somewhat satisfied with the long kiss.
He stared gleefully at her swollen lips, the lipstick she wore were long gone, as he had made sure to clean her lips thoroughly before forcing a mouthful of his saliva into her mouth, “Swallow it all.” He commanded coldly.
Yan Luan had not yet recovered from her initial shock, and he did not seem to mind that all ten of her fingernails were dug deeply into the skin of his hand, as he did not release his hold on her cheeks.
He lifted her head upwards, and she choked in shock, accidentally swallowing his mouthful of saliva.
When he released her from his deadly grasp, her first response was to lie down on the couch as a wave of nausea filled through her, only getting up to slap him hard on the face when she felt his fingers crawling against the back of neck.
Pap!
“Wang AnZhi! Are you tired of living already!?” How dare he force himself upon her!
She had used up all of her strength in that single slap, causing even his grim face to tilt to the side momentarily, while blood began to seep out from his cheek from the injury her nails had inflicted mercilessly.
Wang AnZhi had merely turned his head slowly back towards her, reaching out and grabbing tightly onto the escaping lady before touching the blood on his cheeks softly as his eyes narrowed dangerously at the scent of blood, “WengZhu’s voice is really angelic, it really itches my heart, though… Nothing could compare to how hard I am for you down there…”
“You!” Yan Luan screamed in rage and frustration at his uncivilized taunting while struggling against his restraining hold, but her efforts were fruitless, as he had easily pushed her against the couch once again as he buried his face between her twin bunnies while inhaling her scent greedily.
“Wang AnZhi! Let go of me!” His vile touch made her sick, and she knew that she would never submit to him, “If you touch me today, I swear that your WuAn HouFu will be flattened to nothing tomorrow!”
“WengZhu should learn to be a good girl, every woman must go through this path. I promise I’ll treat you like a goddess when you’re mine, I’ll give you anything, even if you wish to be queen.”
Obsession is part of a human’s daily life, and Wang AnZhi’s obsession is Yan Luan, he had fallen entirely in love with her the first time he landed his eyes on her. She was like a poisonous nectar, so sweet and fine that he had no other choice but to fall to the depths for her, but at the same time, she was heartless, so much so that she would not even give him a chance to pursue her. This knowledge had filled him thoroughly with despair.
So much so that… he had swore that he would stop at nothing just to make her his! He would chain her up to his bed and allow her, and only her, to carry his children.
He would not allow her to leave his side for eternity, this life or the next!
“Scream if you want, sweet WengZhu, all the better if you catch the attention of others. Seeing from their social statuses, I believe not even Princess YongKang could refuse our marriage if they were to testify against this situation.”
