Chapter 76: Threat and Heaven Plane's Current Situation
Snowy looked at her and asked Alchemy Goddess the question that had long plagued her mind.
"Tian'er, What had happened to you back then?"
"To be honest, my recollection about the battle is quite fuzzy. Here, take a look for yourself, Snowy," After listening about her current life, Alchemy Goddess quickly decided to call Snowy by her current name too.
Without warning, a ray of light shot from Alchemy Goddess' finger straight into Snowy's forehead.
Snowy's vision went black for a brief period before she opened her eyes to find herself in a different location.
It was a chaotic place surrounded by spatial distortion.
Snowy guessed that the place was somewhere inside the spatial rift, the same rift that separated the 5 regions in the Mortal Plane and connected all three great realms and three thousand realms.
As blood flowed from the top of her head and covered her eyes, her vision became hazy and a little reddish.
She did, however, catch a glimpse of the tattered golden armor that encased her body before turning her gaze to the horde of abominable creatures in front of her as they appeared to be emerging from the big black portal.
The creatures were twice as tall as a human with a huge black muscly body, which naked to the eye thanks to the absence of the fur.
Each of its three heads has one sharp eye with a slit pupil, two large horns spiraling sideways, and two spiky tusks protruding from their lower jaws.
As if they were born to send horror to people's hearts, their long thorn-filled tails wiggled like a tentacle ready to strangle their enemy and poke holes in their bodies.
Snowy estimated that there were roughly a thousand of them waiting to pounce on her.
Despite this, Snowy felt neither fear nor despair, simply a determination to put her life in line to eradicate enemy forces as much as possible.
A thunderous cry shouted from her mouth responded by the wailing sound of the beasts.
And then, Snowy's vision abruptly put to stop, and she once again had Alchemy Goddess in her line of sight.
"...."
"...."
Silence filled the room as the two of them stumbled to find a word.
Snowy felt overwhelmed by Alchemy Goddess' memory.
She was saddened to witness her friend's final moments, but she also felt a twinge of pride seeing Alchemy Goddess stand tall and fight until the end.
"It was a heroic end. You should feel proud, Tian'er."
"Uhum, of course! I may be a bit airhead, but I'm no coward!"
Alchemy Goddess responded to Snowy's compliment with a big grin on her face.
"Anyway, what were those abhorrent beasts? I don't have any records about them," a scowl came on Snowy's lovely face.
"Those beasts, we call it Void Beast. You might have sensed from my memory that there is unknown energy within their body, which we have never seen before among three great realms and three thousand realms. We speculate that they are most likely come from "outside"."
Listening to Alchemy Goddess' explanation, Snowy's expression turned grave.
After all, this is a subject about the universe beyond the three great realms and three thousand realms boundary, which had been mere speculation discussed among overlords and supreme powerhouses.
Prior to the emergence of the void creatures, no one could provide convincing proof, but the speculation may now be proven correct.
The journey to the dao wasn't only limited to the apex of their universe; there were other, even more vast, and possibly more wonderful, places that waited to be explored.
But, this also meant that whatever being on the other side had finally discovered this universe too, and surely the goal of their next visit wouldn't come only for sightseeing.
"The scale of the assault can already be considered as an invasion, but why were you fighting them alone? Where were the Heavenly Court's Armies? How come Jade Emperor didn't send any reinforcement to assist you?" asked Snowy disgruntedly.
"Jade Emperor? The battle took place around two thousand years after Godking Indra took over Jade Emperor's throne. Jade Emperor had been exiled from Heaven Plane ever since," answered Alchemy Goddess with a somber tone as she shook her head.
"What?! The current ruler of Heavenly Court is Godking Indra?"
"Huh, for real, Snowy, are you confused?"
Suddenly, a realization hit Alchemy Goddess, and then asked Snowy a question, "Who was the last host you accompanied in Heaven Plane?"
"Holy Maiden of Secret Sanctum, Bai Qing. You should know her as the Dream Goddess."
"Hmm, so it was Dream Goddess. It means you have out of contact for more than 50 thousand years, Snowy. If we use this timeline as a measuring stick, the change in Heaven Plane happened around 10 or 12 thousand years ago. No wonder you had no idea about it."
Snowy finally remembered that none of her previous hosts had successfully ascended to the Heaven Plane after the Dream Goddess. They would either be killed before they matured or fall into their enemy's scheme as if they were being hunted on purpose.
Was it a coincidence?
Snowy didn't ponder it for long since it was only a possibility without any proper evidence.
"It didn't explain why there was no support from Heavenly Court, though…" asked Snowy pressing the issue.
"This… I'm sorry, Snowy, but I can't tell you anything more about it right now. There is a lot of complication in this matter, and I don't want you to get involved before you're strong enough to handle the consequences."
Alchemy Goddess truly cared about Snowy's safety, so she was adamant to expose her to any information that could endanger her life.
"Here, Snowy, I'll give you all of the information about the matter. However, I'll put a seal in it so you can only access it when the time is ripe," said Alchemy Goddess as she transferred her memories into Snowy's head.
"Thank you, Tian'er," uttered Snowy, feeling glad and happy because she had someone as kind as Alchemy Goddess as a friend.
