=====

I think I had an orgasm.

Really, watching numbers go up made my brain go very happy. That was why I only rarely opened my Status so that the number would add up together in bulk.

I can approximate my own power anyways. I don’t think I even need Status.

But there was something I was curious about. Now that my Flame affinity was gone, what would the Blessing of the Outer Sun God do?

[Blessing of the {Outer Sun God}] (Tier 1 → STATIC)
Recognized as the Last Saintess of the Faded Sun. Grants the permission to open a certain door somewhere.

Wow, what?

Things were getting really weird. Maybe Theodore or Ast had something to do with this, but I couldn’t contact them for now so all I could do was revel in anticipation until the day I came across the door.

IF I could come across the door.

Anyways, the address on the card wasn’t really far away from my inn. I arrived before another inn called “Lazy Dongs.”

I…. I tried to ignore the name and got inside the inn. Just like any other inn, its first floor was dedicated to a modest tavern. And luckily for me, I spotted Smith drinking in the corner with two girls at the same table as him.

I approached him and threw his card on the table.

“I’m here to accept your offer.”

Smith, very surprised by my appearance, quickly gulped down his drink and regained his composure. The next thing he did was extend a hand out to me.

“Uhhh, welcome aboard?”

I stared at his hand, looking for any food stains. Only when I saw that it was clean did I shake his hand.

“Likewise. So, mind introducing me to my new teammates?”

Smith nodded and gestured toward the two girls with him. One was a blonde Elf with blue eyes. She— Oh no…. Fuck no! I knew the look she was giving me very well!

“Hmph, I was excited when you spoke of a potentially new member.” She crossed her arms, trying to make her flat chest bulge out but failed miserably. “Though my excitement still stands, Smith, do you really believe this…. filth— I mean, this poor disabled canine can keep up with us?”

Blah blah blah, bad blood between Elves and Beastkins or whatever. I never cared much about it but from what I remembered, it was started by Eric the Hero’s stupidity.

Uhhh, to make it short, he caused the then-queen of the Hidden Forest Elves and then-chieftain of the United Beast Settlements to go to war over his handsome ass.

Yep. Millions died, only for the Hero to settle with the Saintess.

Now that I think about it, I don’t think Eric knows about the war.

Ihwa and Ohjin—the Tanker made sure he didn’t so that he could focus on his demon-king-slaying task.

Wait, did Ohjin collude with Ihwa on that? I can’t really remember….

{Yes. That fatass did.}

As always, Nira came to the rescue. She had a much better memory than mine so of course she would remember something from that time.

Hmmm, I could feel my memories slipping—probably a side effect of the Reincarnation. Alright. Let’s refresh my mind a little bit.

The Hero’s party had ten members.

The first, the Hero himself, Eric Solstar. He was the jack-of-all-trade and whatnot.

Next was the Swordsmaster. Jeez, I wonder who he was or what role he played. Heh, guess we’ll never know.

Up next, the Swordsmaster’s wife, the Archmage. Also known as Ihwa Magrise. Also also known as Ihwa Jung (it’s her old name) by only the Swordsmaster. The reason she had two names was because she had to change her surname when House Magrise took her in.

Brown hair, black eyes, and a hulking build. He was Ohjin Park (he sometimes called himself Park Ohjin?)—the so-called “Walking Fortress,” because he might as well have been. His defense was impregnable. Heh, if only the random girls he knocked up during our travels were also impregnable. I could only imagine him coming across his children every three steps he made.

Ah, Saintess Emelia was next. My old crush. Her hair was blonde and her eyes were red. Something about her just captivated me so much. H-Haha, just kidding, of course (please don’t smite me Ihwa). Anyways, she was terrifying on the battlefield—both to us and the enemies. She’d heal us over and over again until everything was dead. It was a miracle that I didn’t go insane from all the pain.

My good friend Zhen Shi was next. Despite being a very manly man, he let his hair grow long. And just like his hair, his eyes were black like void. He, uhh, was just a really good Alchemist. That was that.
Shit, did I really know next to nothing about my best friend?

A-Anyways, time to talk about the Assassin, Hana Ito. She, uh, actually looked a lot like Zhen Shi if he was a woman. Maybe they’re siblings? Why did I never ask? Welp, she was silent and kept to herself most of the time so I didn’t really interact much with her. One thing though, I was pretty sure she stole from everyone in our little group.
Some days, I would wake up feeling my wallet a little bit lighter. Some other day, Sabbath would try to cast some hexes on Hana because she was convinced it was her who stole her stuff.

Speaking of Sabbath the Warlock, she was Saintess Emelia’s twin. Both sisters were native to this world just like me and Eric. Her full name, ehh, no one but Emelia knew. We just called her “Sabbath the Terrible” because she requested it. Just like her sister, Sabbath’s hair was blonde. But her eyes were, for lack of a better word, hollow.
As a Warlock, her job was to summon hordes of undead to aid us and sometimes go on reconnaissance missions with Hana.

“—I knew it. The canine is not only physically impaired, it is also mentally lacking.”

“H-Huh?”

I snapped myself out of my own thoughts and looked up. I saw the Elf looking at me smugly while Smith expressed his concern for me.

“W-What? I’m just remembering some things!”

“Hmph! And it is taking you five whole minutes?”

I clenched my fists hard. Just to spite her, I decided to remember the rest of the Hero party while she ran her mouth.

Ehem! Speaking of Elf, the next member was also an Elf…sort of. Ukr Glu was his name. He was a mix between an Elf and a Dwarf. Sadly, he inherited the short stature of his Dwarven lineage and Elves’ nature haughtiness.
I might or might not have called him a “Dreft” many times to make him mad.
And I might or might not have thrown him into our enemies’ lines as bait.
Whatever. He survived everything, so he had no right to complain!
Beside being really good bait, the Dreft also had unparalleled talent in Archery. He was a Spirit Archer, to be exact. As for what it entailed, well, I didn’t care much at that time, so I didn’t know.

Any idea, Nira?

{Nope. I ignored him too.}

{A-Actually, Master, I know—}

So no one knows. Let’s skip over his powers, then.

Well, the only one left was my other good friend, Druvleyn Smatger. A Dwarf. Very good at Smithing. Need I say more?

Now that I finished recalling everything, I finally turned my attention toward the table. The Elf was still running her mouth to nothing, so I turned to Smith.

“Well? I don’t think she’s gonna tell me her name any time soon.”

“Dinva. Her name’s Dinva.” He then gestured toward the other girl, who was just standing around, fiddling with her fingers awkwardly. “And this is— well, I think you know who she is.”

Indeed. The same brat that tried to rob me days ago. She’s…. well, she’s fine. Nothing can be worse than this Elf.

I shook the girl’s hand.

“M-My name’s Jeanne, b-by the way, ma’am.”

I take it back. I don’t like you.

Did she even look at me!? I’m way too young to be called that! If anything, you’re older than me!

But I didn’t let my frustration show. I gave her a stiff smile. “Just to be sure, I’m Esther. Esther Raze.”

The Elf was still talking about how great and superior her race was, so I turned to Smith again.

“So, what are we doing?”

“An escort mission,” he said; eyes glinting. “To a casino.”

“Casino?”

“Not just any casino. The casino. Edinworthe Casino at the Southernmost tip of this Kingdom.”

To be honest, I didn’t know what that was. But it sounded like a lot of cash, so I wanted a part in it.

“When do we depart?”

Smith pulled on the Elf’s ear to snap her out of her monologue. “Right… now.”
