Chapter 14
Chapter 14
“Well then, brother! Have a good night!”
“Yes! You too, Do-Hwa, go home safely, and Ji-Woo, be careful on your way back!”
After finishing dinner, Do-Hwa and Ji-Woo waved goodbye to the departing Si-Yoon.
“It was really delicious, right?”
“Yeah! Who knew there was someone who would buy something that delicious. Isn’t he like an angel?”
Ji-Woo had a look of utmost satisfaction.
Even in the dining hall of the Hero Alliance dormitory, where she could order any delicious menu,
she usually couldn’t eat more than a few bites and would leave most of it.
The cafeteria ladies, worried about her, prepared various dishes, but Ji-Woo was rarely satisfied with any of them.
No matter what food was served, she was never really satisfied and would often stop eating abruptly,
but today, she managed to finish an entire bowl of rice.
Ji-Woo felt satisfied yet slightly guilty towards the cafeteria ladies.
“Was it that good? Should I buy it for you next time?”
“You say you’ll buy it, but you won’t eat it.”
Do-Hwa’s eating habit was to enjoy delicious food only once or twice a week.
It was one of her life principles to manage herself rigorously.
“I want to eat it again.”
“Then you can go by yourself next time.”
“How can I go to a meat restaurant alone!”
She wanted to go, but going alone felt odd.
And she didn’t have anyone else to go with, as she had no other friends.
Ji-Woo was the one who teased Do-Hwa about not having friends before leaving,
but she realized she wasn’t much different, which led to a sense of despair.
“Or you could go with Si-Yoon brother again.
Oh! We planned to visit Si-Yoon’s shop on the next holiday.”
Do-Hwa subtly dropped the topic of meeting Si-Yoon again into the conversation with Ji-Woo.
“Oh! Then let’s ask to eat beef there.”
Like a fish biting at bait on a hook, Ji-Woo snapped at the idea.
‘Hehe… Ji-Woo will soon know the joy of becoming a sex slave to Dominator…♥’
Looking at Ji-Woo caught in the trap, Do-Hwa sneered with a sinister smile.
Hoping that Ji-Woo would also experience the pleasure she felt.

“Ahhh! Why do we have to deploy at 7:30 in the morning!”
“What? I didn’t get any call.”
A call request arrived on Ji-Woo’s device early in the morning.
Ji-Woo seemed to have woken up in a fright at the sudden request.
“Urrgh… I was planning to sleep more today!”
“Then just ask another hero to take over.”
Calls from the alliance for hero deployment aren’t mandatory.
Heroes can’t always respond to every call, given their personal lives.
To respect heroes’ personal time and manage their condition,
The dedicated device also has a function to reject calls.
However, if refusals are too frequent, evaluations within the alliance worsen,
leading to a reduction in salary or, in severe cases, a downgrade in hero rank.
“I… will get my salary cut if I refuse this call again.”
“I knew it! Because of all those raids and stuff?”
Of course, using it once or twice a week doesn’t have much impact,
and there’s no penalty for refusing calls outside the official working hours from 9 AM to 6 PM.
However, this only applies when the cumulative number of refusals is low,
and for Ji-Woo, who often refused two or three times a day for sleep or gaming, this was not the case.
Meaning, if she refused too much and her evaluation worsened, she’d have to work even outside official hours.
“Damn it… Where did my hoodie go?”
“You left it on the sofa. You always forget after doing that!”
A tank top, hot pants, and a black hoodie made of special material.
Ji-Woo’s hero costume was so casual, one might question if it was really hero attire.
“Then… I’m off!”
“Okay. Come back safely.”
Ji-Woo hastily threw the hoodie from the sofa over her shoulders and ran out of the dormitory.

On a main road in the heart of S City, crowded with commuting office workers.
“Kyaaaaaa!! What’s happening this morning!!”
“Aaaaaah!! I’ll miss the subway!!”
Due to a villain suddenly appearing during the morning commute,
people were stomping their feet, unable to go anywhere.
“Kehehehehe!! Commute? Why bother! No one should be allowed to do what I can’t!!”
The man blocking the commute of thousands.
He had been trying to get a job for 15 years, ultimately failed,
and now he was venting his frustration over never having experienced a commute.
“Hahaha! How do you like the power of Mud Guy! Hahaha!”
The villain ‘Mud Guy’ had destroyed the bus stop where buses should stop, turning it into a mess,
and blocked all entrances and exits needed to access the subway.
With the ability to shoot clumps of mud from his hands,
He only targeted the transport facilities crucial for people.
“Hey! What are you doing!”
A brave citizen approached the man to protest.
“What! You… are wearing a suit…?”
But to Mud Guy, the man’s protest fell on deaf ears,
Instead, the suit the citizen was wearing caught his attention.
A suit is typically what office workers wear to go to work.
To Mud Guy, who detested office workers, this made the citizen his arch-nemesis!
“Grrr… Aaaahhhhh!!!”
“Hey, stop right there.”
Someone tapped on the shoulder of Mud Guy, whose anger had reached its peak.
“Who… who are you!!! The one touching me!”
“Did you keep me from sleeping this morning?”
The one who touched his shoulder, even angrier than him, was
the A-grade hero ‘Player’ Yeon Ji-Woo.
Ji-Woo glared at Mud Guy with an unusually sharp expression.
“Mister, have you ever played War of Champions?”
“What?”
“You don’t know about the War of Champions? Are you really out of touch?”
“Out of… touch?”
The reason she mentioned the game ‘War of Champions’ she was playing.
It was closely related to Ji-Woo’s superpower.
“There’s a character I’ve been practicing lately who uses dual pistols.”
Ji-Woo explained her current favorite character’s concept with a flick of her index finger.
“What does that have to do with anything! You tiny little…”
However, Mud Guy, who had no interest in games,
launched the mud clump meant for the suited man at Ji-Woo instead.
– Splat!
“What? Tiny? Ha… I was going to go easy, but…”
But Ji-Woo easily dodged the mud clump.
Immediately, blue light started to emit from her extended hands.
– Swoooosh!
Particles of light in shapes like pixels or cubes began to form in Ji-Woo’s hands,
and soon, two guns resembling those used by game characters were gripped in her hands.
“You’re hopeless, mister. Just take a hit.”
Her superpower was
If she had experienced playing a character in a game, she could manifest and use any of their weapons.
– Bang!!!
Two bullets fired from the golden barrel.
“Aaaargh!!!”
One bullet grazed Mud Guy’s trouser leg slightly,
while the other hit him squarely in the center of his right thigh.
“You… you wretched little girl!!!”
– Papapapapapapak!!
Screaming in pain, Mud Guy fired numerous mud clumps from his hands.
“Ugh… this is really filthy.”
– Thudthudthudthudthudthud!
The weapon in Ji-Woo’s hands had now changed into a massive shield instead of dual pistols.
She had switched the manifested weapon to another character’s during the mud barrage.
And why a shield when asking for a weapon?
Because those who use shields to bash heads or shoot ice chunks would feel offended.
“Ugh, this is why using a shield makes my arm hurt every time.”
Although she could manifest weapons, it didn’t mean she had the same strength as the characters using them,
so Ji-Woo preferred not to use heavy items like shields or greatswords.
However, the speed of the mud clumps was faster than she expected,
forcing her to hastily manifest a shield for defense.
“Th-this, this, this, aaaaaah!!!”
When his heartfelt barrage of mud was blocked in an instant,
Mud Guy screamed and flailed in frustration.
“Ugh… you’re so noisy. Mister, you won’t die if you take this hit, right?”
The hand holding the shield was now enveloped in blue light again,
and this time, a weapon resembling a mage’s staff emerged.
– Fwoosh-
“Aaaaaargh!!!”
A bolt of lightning shot from the staff engulfed Mud Guy’s body in an instant.
“Grgrgrgrgrgrglglglgl!!!”
Mud Guy writhed as if caught in a net of lightning,
and soon after, his screams ceased, and he collapsed on the spot.
“Who’s the tiny one and who’s the little girl? Seriously.”
After subduing Mud Guy, Ji-Woo stretched as if tired,
and without another word, turned to leave.
“Um… Hero? What about… this?”
The citizens, while grateful for the villain’s defeat, were puzzled by her leaving without resolving the scene.
“Oh… some other guys will come to take care of this later.”
Ji-Woo’s response was tired and seemingly bothered, suggesting ‘Do I have to deal with this too?’
The citizen seemed quite taken aback by Ji-Woo’s attitude,
but true to her word, personnel from the Hero Alliance arrived soon after to clean up the scene.
“Urrrgh! Since I resolved another case today… I should get some sleep.”
