Supreme Dragon Seal

Chapter 82: Reaching A Deal

With a gesture from the senior sister, Xiao Li walked over and opened the door. Qi Bei, dressed in a silver robe with a handsome face and a faint smile, exuded a noble elegance that left Xiao Li stunned. She had never seen such a handsome young man in the Beast Manor before.

“Do I have horns on my head?” Qi Bei asked with a smile.

“No…no, you don’t,” Xiao Li woke up from her trance and felt a bit embarrassed.

“Xiao Li, please let the City Lord in,” the senior sister said. Xiao Li, this little girl, was good in everything except that she had a tendency to be infatuated.

Qi Bei walked in, and his eyes met with the woman’s gaze, and they both showed a hint of surprise.

“City Lord, visiting so late at night, may I ask what brings you here?” the senior sister asked calmly.

“My name is Qi Bei Nord. May I know the names of the two ladies?” Qi Bei didn’t answer, but instead asked for the names of the two of them.

“I am Xiao Li, and this is my senior sister Yan Fangfei. City lord, you are really handsome,” Xiao Li giggled, with hearts in her eyes.

Yan Fangfei glared at Xiao Heimei and spoke again, her tone tinged with disgust, “Is the City Lord here just to ask for our names?”

Qi Bei smiled faintly, walked to the soft chair by the window, and said, “Please don’t misunderstand, ladies. I came here to witness the excellence of the Holy Land disciples and negotiate a matter concerning your fellow junior disciple.”

Yan Fangfei’s eyes turned cold, and the Beast Ring began to glow dimly, ready to defend or attack at any moment.

“You caught Dia?” she asked coldly.

“Yes,” Qi Bei nodded decisively.

“Why?” Yan Fangfei’s voice became colder.

“West Spirit City is my territory. Anyone who enters must follow the rules. Your fellow disciple injured people in the city and then seriously wounded the patrols. I spared him because of his identity as a Holy Land disciple. However, you, the Beast Manor, must give me an explanation for this matter,” Qi Bei’s tone was very strong. Anyway, he was right. Holy Land disciples must also follow the rules when dealing with secular affairs.

“This is just your side of the story. I want to see him,” Yan Fangfei said.

“Of course,” Qi Bei nodded.

In the City Lord’s mansion, Yan Fangfei and Xiao Li saw Dia, who was bound by earth magic and unable to move.

“Senior sister, please kill these bastards,” Dia burst into tears when he saw Yan Fangfei, as if he had found his backbone.

“Shut up.” Yan Fangfei coldly shouted, scaring Dia, who obediently didn’t speak.

Qi Bei made a gesture, and the earth magic that bound Dia dissipated quickly, freeing him.

“What happened?” Yan Fangfei asked.

“They sold me inferior potions and refused to admit it, so I taught them a lesson,” Dia said with righteous indignation.

“Let me see the potions,” Yan Fangfei said.

Dia handed over several bottles of detoxification and hemostatic potions to Yan Fangfei, who frowned after sniffing them.

It turned out to be a complete misunderstanding. Dia was from the  Beast Manor, where all the potions were top-grade, and the potions outside were much less effective, but not inferior. It was just that Dia was inexperienced in these matters, which led to this conflict.

“This is a hundred gold coins, as compensation for your losses,” Yan Fangfei took out a small bag of gold coins and handed it over to Qi Bei.

Qi Bei was stunned. Was it that easy to settle?

“But the disciples of Beast Manor can’t suffer this injustice for nothing…” Yan Fangfei said, and a smug smile appeared on Dia’s face behind her.

“What do you want?” Qi Bei shrugged, knowing it wasn’t that simple.

“I want the earth element King-grade mage by your side to work for me for a month,” Yan Fangfei said.

Qi Bei raised an eyebrow. So she had her eye on Xiao Jiu. He shook his head and said, “No, Xiao Jiu is here to protect me. If he leaves, my life won’t be safe.”

Yan Fangfei needed an earth element mage. She didn’t expect her Sand Wyrm to suddenly undergo a mutation. Now that she saw there was such a powerful earth element mage beside Qi Bei, she had an idea.

Yan Fangfei thought for a moment, then suddenly took out a Beast Ring. With a thought, her Golden Lion King shot out from the ring on her finger and appeared in the tent.

“Take it,” Yan Fangfei shouted softly, and then with another thought, she pulled her Golden Lion King back into the ring, which she had just taken out. She then handed it to Qi Bei.

Qi Bei was puzzled. Was he supposed to use the Golden Lion King as collateral?

“It’s for your protection. I’ve talked to Jinzi about it. Let her protect you in the future. I’ll tell you the release spell. Return it to me when I return from the Savage Wastelands,” Yan Fangfei said.

Qi Bei’s thoughts spun quickly as he took the Beast Ring, and called out, “Xiao Jiu.”

Xiao Jiu, dressed in a black robe, appeared like a ghost and respectfully said, “Master.”

However, Xiao Jiu originally used a female voice in front of Qi Bei, but now, upon appearing, reverted back to a deep male voice.

“Follow Miss Yan to the Savage Wastelands,” Qi Bei said, then condensed his internal energy into a thread and transmitted it into Xiao Jiu’s ear. “Investigate the details of these disciples of Beast Manor for me.”

“Yes, Master,” Xiao Jiu accepted the order.

Yan Fangfei’s beautiful eyes brightened. As a King-grade earth element mage who could also hide so well, it seemed there was a chance to achieve her goal this time.

Next, Yan Fangfei told Qi Bei the incantation to release the Golden Lion King from the Beast Ring. Actually, the disciples of the Beast Manor did not need an incantation to release their magic beasts, but they needed to merge with the Beast Ring, and she naturally wouldn’t tell Qi Bei this method.

Early the next day, Yan Fangfei and the disciples of the Beast Manor set off for the Savage Wastelands with Xiao Jiu.

A crisis turned out to be a profitable transaction.

Qi Bei sat on the Golden Lion King’s back with Huan Ying, earning a wave of awe-inspiring gazes that gave him a great sense of satisfaction.

At this moment, Qi Bei arrived at the Western City District, which was bustling with construction, to check the progress and see the near completion of the houses. Before the next snowstorm arrived, those poor people should be able to move in.

All the way here, the residents all bowed to him from afar, with genuine respect and gratitude in their eyes.

Some bold children approached to see the Golden Lion King, but when the beast opened its bloody mouth, they screamed and ran away, followed by laughter.

In the eyes of these poor people, there was no longer lifelessness or numbness, but a glimmer of hope and anticipation for the future.

“You’re truly great, young master. You’re the greatest Lord in the world,” Huan Ying turned her head to Qi Bei and said, her beautiful eyes shining with pride, as if Qi Bei’s greatness was her glory.

Qi Bei smiled. He didn’t care about being great or not; he was just fulfilling his dream which also happened to bring joy to others.
