Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 265 - 265 Ocean Heaven Island

Chapter 265: Chapter 265 Ocean Heaven Island

Lin Shen was pondering all kinds of possibilities and pros and cons when he suddenly saw a glimmer of light.

Turning his head to look out the window, he saw a red silhouette dancing in the distant pitch-black night sky.

Lin Shen couldn’t help but walk to the window to observe carefully, only to see the red silhouette flickering in and out of visibility, lighting up one moment and disappearing the next, appearing in different places, giving the impression that it could teleport or turn invisible.

Because darkness robbed him of a sense of distance, it was hard to judge just how far away it was, but it seemed very far.

The red light was like a beautiful phoenix dancing playfully in the night sky.

“Why does it look somewhat familiar?” Lin Shen watched for a while and then remembered why it seemed familiar.

During a previous visit to Gourd Mountain, he had seen a peculiar silhouette like a phoenix, but that silhouette was orange, and this red one looked a bit different.

Aside from the color, however, the two appeared very similar.

Both had an outer circle of light, while their interiors seemed like black holes.

Lin Shen couldn’t be sure if they were actually the same, as it was too dark here and he could only see the red silhouette, not making out the rest clearly.

The phoenix-like silhouette drew closer and closer, and soon passed overhead, making Lin Shen feel even more that it closely resembled the one that appeared on Gourd Mountain.

“Could it be that the same creature exists on different planets?” Lin Shen wondered in secret.

The guest room had only this one window; once the silhouette flew to the other side, it was out of view, and darkness engulfed the outside once again.

Lin Shen drew the curtains and began to recall all the movements of Twenty-Eight Fists.

Since there were so many movements, he only remembered some of them, and with the notebook in Tian Xun’s possession, he couldn’t even practice by looking at it.

Lin Shen could only practice the movements he remembered, missing many he couldn’t recall and mixing up the sequence of some.

Thinking that it certainly wouldn’t be effective in such a state, he was shocked when the Base Mutation energy in his body started to stir, prompting him to stop hastily.

If he accidentally unleashed Spatial Fist Power and damaged something in the guest room, that wouldn’t be good.

“This Twenty-Eight Fists isn’t that difficult after all. Even missing so many movements, it can still be used. Why couldn’t Tian Xun get it right? Could it be because of Evolution Theory, my talent has also improved?” Lin Shen thought about it and felt it probably wasn’t for that reason.

Although Evolution Theory was miraculous, it wasn’t to the extent of enhancing learning ability; otherwise, his memory wouldn’t remain as average as it was.

“If it’s not because of Evolution Theory, could it be just because I’ve seen the original pattern and felt its artistic conception?” Lin Shen felt it was partly for that reason, but it didn’t seem to be the whole explanation either.

Unable to figure it out, Lin Shen decided not to think about it anymore. He now wanted to know if this Spatial Fist Power could be combined with Acupoint Sealing and used from afar; if possible, there would be no need to get close to an opponent to seal acupoints.

Moreover, he wanted to know how far he could project Spatial Fist Power. If the range was sufficient, he wouldn’t be at such a disadvantage when battling Ascenders.

He wanted to go to Realm King Planet to try it out right away, but fearing he was under surveillance by Tian Xun, he eventually gave up the idea and got a good night’s sleep.

When day broke, Lin Shen got up and opened the curtains, seeing the courtyard outside bustling with people going to and fro, servants of all races busy with something, as though they were setting up the yard.

Lin Shen even saw someone who looked like a toad – he had no idea what race they belonged to.

After freshening up and leaving his room, he was about to knock on his sister’s door when she coincidentally came out of hers.

The two exchanged a glance and headed downstairs in silent agreement, discovering that no one was restricting their movements.

When a maid with deer antlers passed by, Lin Shen stopped her and asked, “Is there some sort of celebration going on today?”

“I don’t know.” The antlered maid seemed truly clueless, shaking her head before she left.

Lin Shen remembered that Tian Xun had mentioned a few days ago that her little nephew was coming, and the Archangel’s Sword was the gift Tian Xun had prepared for him. It seemed likely that the decorations outside were for welcoming her nephew.

The two of them walked into the courtyard and, with no one paying them any attention, they both breathed a sigh of relief.

Tian Xun had not restricted their personal freedom; it seemed she wasn’t planning on doing anything to them for the time being.

“Mr. Lin, our host invites you to join her for breakfast,” said a Celestial, dressed quite finely, as he approached Lin Shen and Lin Miao with an elegant demeanor.

“Just me?” Lin Shen asked.

“Yes, please follow me,” the Celestial said and turned to leave.

“I’ll take a look around; you go ahead,” Lin Miao said, waving her hand to indicate that Lin Shen should go.

Lin Shen followed the Celestial to the palace-like building where they had been the previous day and saw Tian Xun in an enormous dining room.

Her dining table was even longer than a conference table meant for many people, and Lin Shen felt that if he sat across from her, they would have to shout to converse lest she would not hear him.

The table was laid with an array of food, all beautifully presented. Fortunately, there was something akin to a rotating hotpot in the center of the table; otherwise, one would have to walk over to pick up anything they wanted to eat.

“Did you rest well last night?” Tian Xun asked softly, after taking a sip from her cup filled with a liquid unknown to him and placing it down.

She had studied all night and had still not managed to fully understand the Twenty-Eight Fists.

“Not bad,” Lin Shen paused before asking, “If there’s nothing else, I’d like to return to Giant Ring Star to hunt Base Variant Creatures.”

“What you wish to do is your freedom, and there’s no need to report to me. However, if I were you, I wouldn’t return to Giant Ring Star,” Tian Xun said with a smile.

“Why?” Lin Shen thought to himself, “She says she doesn’t restrict my freedom, but in the end, it’s the same thing.”

“The environment of the Star Belt and its Base Mutation resources are far superior to what’s inside Giant Ring Star. Mutated creatures are hardly seen down below, but on these floating islands, they are relatively easy to find.” Tian Xun took another sip of her liquid before continuing, “And now that you’re a resident of Paradise Island, hunting in Giant Ring Star, which is under the jurisdiction of the An Family, could be improper if you’re discovered by someone from the An Family.”

As she spoke, Tian Xun used a communicator to project a map filled with various floating islands.

With a few gestures, she selected one island and enlarged its image.

“Here’s what we’ll do – this Ocean Heaven Island is one of the islands I use for vacations. It has a villa I used to stay in. I’ll give it to you and your sister as a residence. It has some Base Mutation resources and mutated creatures too. The surrounding islands have plenty of Base Variant Creatures, which you can hunt.”

“Besides, it’s close to Paradise Island, so when I’m practicing the Twenty-Eight Fists, if I have any problems, it’ll be convenient to consult you,” Tian Xun said, her smile implying something more.
