Summoned to Another World, but as the Final Boss

(15.) Demon King infiltrates the Human School.

Once inside the school, I wasn't all that impressed by how it looked. Y'know, everything else up until now has looked extremely good and insane when compared to the 2D image it was in the game, but the academys interior was just like in the game - boring and bland. Nothing special — just an interior that served its purpose of being functional not that much of a looker. If anything, at most the academys interior looked a lot like a regular inside of a school in what I suppose I can call now my 'previous life'. But you know what - I appreciated an environment that wasn't that outstanding and just ordinary. Not a lot of environments in this world are like that.

Moving through the hall, I kept catching people just throw their stares at me and whisper among themselves about me. Who would have known that the fake rumours of my origins would spread so fast? I guess I shouldn't underestimate my subordinates... They really are something impressive sometimes.

Among the whispers, I managed to hear some of the things that the other students said about me, all the while throwing their gazes at me;

'Have you seen that guy?'

'I heard that kids from a secret noble family.'

'Apparently the Dragon-born King vouched for him to get a scholarship at this academy.'

'A Scholarship? For a nobles son?'

These are a few examples of all the things I heard the other students whisper about among themselves, but trust me — there were many, many more things that they whispered about me. I played off the whole gossiping of the other students cool, pretending that I didn't notice them all whispering about and didn't know what they were discussing among themselves as to not draw any attention towards myself from them. Instead, I kept my gaze locked to the hall infront of me and kept moving forward, my bag over my left shoulder as I continued to move forward.

The first stop in this academy was the opening ceremony that was going to happen today. Yes, opening ceremony — it was called that instead of the 'welcoming ceremony' or something. I myself don't really understand why such a name for something that wasn't exactly an opening to anything.... But hey — it's not exactly my field to judge them. If they wanted to call it an opening ceremony, they could call it an opening ceremony - ultimately it didn't change anything about how the thing was going to go. The protagonist was still going to be called out to speak infront of the whole school as the student of Merlin and Gilgamesh, the Headmaster is still going to give her long and boring speech infront of the students and everything was going to be somewhat cool and calm for today. The crazy stuff for the most part only happens after the school year officially begins.

More specifically, a week after the opening ceremony is when things get wild, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Right now — off to the opening ceremony hall.

I moved through the hallway with a rather slow pace, staying silent as I did. I wasn't exactly in a rush to get to the ceremony hall, considering that the only reason I need to be there was so the persona of the small child I was going to play while at the school wouldn't be already in trouble on the first day for now showing up to school. As I moved through the hall, a sudden sound of commotion caught my attention, as I looked to what was happening further down the hall, stopping in my tracks in the process. Upon seeing the situation, I exhaled heavily.

'Oh right... This shit happens on the first day...'

Noble Brat: "Move it idiot!"

A male voice shouted, before the sound of a different, much younger male voice screamed a little. The scene happening further down the hall was one in which the protagonist gets involved upon arriving to the academy, as they stand up for a second year boy with short black hair being bullied by another second year male with rather long, black hair and glasses. In the context of the main story, this was supposed to be apparently Alis's first 'good deed' or some shit like that, which was meant as proof for her having a pure heart and thus being able to wield the Sacred Blade of Hope in order to fight the Demon King of Sins.

However... Having seen this scene many, many times, it was more cringe to me than anything emotional or important. It seemed quite stereotypical as well — the protagonist stands up for a bullied kid on their first day and this earns them some recognition throughout the entire school, because the bully was somehow a famous one and apparently the teachers are as bad here as in the world I came from as they didn't do shit about the bullying.

I had actually forgotten that this was going on here for a bit.... And I don't exactly want to get involved in this, soo... I'm just going to go the other way. I turned around, about to walk the other way, however the moment I took just one step forward, I heard a voice seemingly call out to me from behind, the voice being the same as... The bully...

Noble Brat: "Oi you! Down the hall in tha fancy outfit — you're that kid from that supposed secret noble family - right?"

The bully shouted, moving up towards me with two of his friends following behind him - one of them keeping a cold expression on his face while the other had a jerkish smirk on his face. I exhaled lightly, before turning around and looking at them with a friendly smile.

"Yes, I am — can I help you in any way?"

I asked in a kind, calm tone — trying to sort of down play the situation and not allow it to escalate to something that could possibly end in me going to the Headmasters office to write an explanation.

Noble Brat: "Hmm.... You know, I've never heard of your family or a secret noble family to begin with. I get that the whole schtick is that your family is 'secret' and not public knowledge, but I have my doubts about you."

He stated, crossing his arms while his tone and gaze were obviously full of aggression. Now, he wasn't making much sense when it came to what he said, however I didn't really need it to make sense. It was just stereotypical, bullshit bully shit that I didn't need to take seriously. To be honest, with the way he talked he kind of sounded like my co-workers usually did after a night out in which we all got dead ass drunk.

Or in simpler terms — He was spouting nonsense like a drunkard would. I remained calm and composed and simply exhaled lightly.

"I believe that you would have your doubts, but please do try to not pry into my personal life. Our family likes to stay out of the public eye."

Noble Brat: "And yet here you are, a supposed Noble Kid in this academy due to a scholarship to which the supposed Dragon-born King vouched to. I say bullshit! The king of Evelia has barely any contact to the Dragon-born King, but you're trying to convince everyone that your family that no one has heard of has connection to the Dragon-born King?!"

The second year noble male continued to blabber on about nonsense, with me slowly beginning to tune out his nonsense. Honestly, I didn't even want to understand or know what the hell he was spouting to me anymore. It was all gibberish nonsense — some bullshit from stereotypical bullies in a rather stereotypical beginning to a story. Nothing important.

With this in mind, I exhaled before pushing the three bullies to the side before moving to where I was moving in the first place. All the other students in the hall immediately gasped lightly, before backing up — almost like I had punched a Behemoth in the face and walked away with a cool and cold facial expression. After I did that, the main leader of the trio of bullies — the second year male with the rather long, black hair and glasses - looked at me and furiously sprinted after me.

Noble Brat: "Oi, dipshit! The hell are you—"

He shouted, grabbing me by my shirts collar, before preparing to punch me, only for me to grab onto his arm with my left hand, before squeezing it, causing the male to scream out in pain and grab a hold of his right arm, before falling to his knees lightly, causing all the other nearby students around me to once again, gasp in surprise and shock.

Noble Brat: "Owowow... W-What the hell—?!"

The noble male screamed out in seeming pain, all the while attempting to free his arm from my grasp. I simply gave him a cold deathstare, not a single hint of mercy in my eyes, as they also slightly began to glow bright red.

"Do not try to do anything to me if you want to keep your limbs on your torso. Trust me — it's not a pretty sight to have no limbs."

I stated coldly, leaning in towards his left ear, before tightening my grip around his arm, a small grin across my face.

"Capiché?"

I asked. The Noble second year was already in tears, before he nodded in desperation and begged for me to let go of his arm. And after a couple more moments of just tightening my grip on his arm even more and more, I let it go and threw him against the ground, as his two friends ran up to him and helped him up. I simply exhaled and threw my bag back over my left shoulder and kept moving forward, passing by the second year boy who had been bullied earlier by that trio and throwing a small, friendly and kind smile to him, before flipping around the corner and moving forward.

Continuing to walk through the hall, I couldn't help but notice how the student count in the hall began to drop, with fewer and fewer students being present. It was a minor detail and probably simply showed that I was getting close to the assembly hall where the opening ceremony will take place, which wouldn't be that surprising. But then again, as I remember from the games main story - when the protagonist moves through the hall, it is always filled to the brim with students, so it was simply a little strange to see so little students, while being so deep inside the hall. I don't want to say that something sketchy is going on, as it is only the start of the school year.... But it seriously shouldn't be like this. There should be a lot more students here than the amount there is. Especially since I am getting closer to the assembly hall.

Moving forward, I eventually reached a pair of giant doors, which were wide open — inside, there was none other than the assembly hall, in which a pretty large amount of students had already gathered together and taken seats — all speaking amongst themselves. Taking a look around, I scanned the crowd, trying to see if in case Alis and her friends were already somehow inside the assembly hall and I simply didn't notice them pass me in the hall or something — however, I did not spot them anywhere. Weird.... The Protagonist is supposed to be in the school by now... Where is she?

Exhaling, I simply shrugged before moving off to the left side and finding myself an open seat, right next to a girl who had long, white hair and one of her eyes covered by this long hair. As for her outfit, it was the school uniform.

"I hope you don't mind me sitting here."

I stated politely as soon as I took my seat next to her. The girl seemingly was startled by my sudden arrival, squealing quietly in surprise, before looking away and shaking her head lightly.

Shy Girl: "N-No... I don't mind."

"Great, thanks a million."

I replied to the girl before getting in comfortable in the seat. The girls voice was rather shy and almost faint sounding — like she at any moment was going to have a panic attack from anxiety or something. If I remember correctly, this girl in specific was also a first year, though one of the older ones being 14 when entering the school. The protagonist gets acquainted with her after seeing her chill around in nature — watching the animals and insects roam around and smiling away. From there, she kind of became the source of information on different monsters and animals as well a professional biologist and zoologist.

Now I know, I spoke about not exactly wanting to get involved with anything that can link itself to the main plot of the game, however — this girl, despite how I described her just now, was more of a minor character in the games story. She's one of the few students who manages to survive through the wretched final act of the games story AND the battle between the Demon King and the protagonist, but her presence in the story is so small, it is almost non existent. But anyways — why did I decide to sit down next to her?

Well, simple — if I want to play off a regular student at this academy as well as go unnoticed as THE Demon King of Sins, I should have some kind of acquaintances or 'friends' in this academy. And seeing as this girl was a sort of minor character in the main story AND had no friends up until the protagonist got acquainted with her, I think me getting familiar with her and trying to become friends with her can go a long way in my plan to try and remain out the sights of others.

Although.... The second part may be easier said than done, considering the amount of stares that have been thrown at me already on this first day....

Shaking my head, I threw a look around the giant assembly hall. The seats in this hall were slowly being filled with students, as more and more of them entered the hall and took their seats. Once again, if I remember correctly — the opening ceremony begins in around... I wanna say 10 minutes or so, based on the amount of students that are starting to flood the hall. I exhaled lightly, leaning back into my own seat, before propping my head up on my right arm, which I also propped up on the right armrest of the seat. Now begins a waiting game....

Around 8 Minutes passed by and the assembly hall was beginning to look heavily crowded by all the students who had gathered inside and taken their seats. It was also a little loud at this point inside the assembly hall — with student voices and chatter filling the entire hall like a storm, without an ounce of silence being able to survive and push through all the noise.

It was clear that the opening ceremony was going to begin any moment now, as the final students entered the hall and looked for some remaining empty seats to take for themselves. However, among all these students, I was still unable to spot Alis and her friends no matter how much I scanned the crowd — even with a locator spell, I wasn't able to spot her anywhere. It was like she didn't exist at all in this place. Her absence was beginning to worry me, as I wondered what could keep her this occupied for so long. Seriously — where is she? In the games story, the Protagonist arrived around the same time I did, if not, even a little bit faster than me and yet — here I am in the hall before her. Like I said earlier, I really don't want to assume or say that something has happened, but it's beginning to become harder and harder to not assume that. I sighed heavily, a slightly disappointed expression plastered across my face.

Shy Girl: "U-Uhm excuse me..."

The same girl suddenly spoke up, tucking lightly on my right sleeve. I looked at her with a curious gaze.

"What can I help you with?"

I replied, turning my head towards her in the process. The girl looked a bit hesitant to continue speaking, with her cheeks even flushing up bright red in the process, before she began fidgeting with her fingers.

Shy Girl: "C-Can you let me p-pass..?

"Oh, of course."

I replied almost immediately, standing up and moving back a bit, allowing the girl to pass, as she thanked me with a quiet tone before moving through the seat row and exiting the assembly hall. She probably needed to use the restroom - which was understandable. If I remember correctly, she had been waiting here already for at least 16 minutes when I arrived, so it's understandable that she would need to use the restroom. I exhaled lightly, before sitting back down in my seat and sighing heavily.

The opening ceremony was about to begin though, so was it a smart idea for her to leave now..? Well, all I can do is hope she makes it back in time for her own sake, considering that the assembly hall is doors are locked after the ceremony begins and if you weren't present in the ceremony and didn't have any prior warnings of not arriving, then you would get in trouble with the Headmaster and be forced to write an explanation on why you weren't present in the opening ceremony.

As I sat in my seat, getting a bit bored, my locator spell suddenly went off and caused me to throw a look behind me. Upon doing so, I saw how just one row behind me, Alis and her two friends - Karla and Kris were sitting in their seats, talking among themselves and laughing together. I exhaled in relief, but then immediately began racking my brain — how did they enter and sit down without me noticing faster? Surely my locator spell would have gone off the second they entered the assembly hall.... I didn't get much time to think about this fact however, as the lights in the assembly hall began to dim down, followed by the student chatter also subsiding, as focused light beams fell down upon the stage in the assembly hall. As the school staff began to close the doors, the same girl ran in, panting lightly before hurrying over to her seat, sitting back down next to me and exhaling lightly in relief — probably glad that she made it in time.

"Almost late."

I teased her a little, chuckling lightly. The shy girl looked away a bit from me, before putting on a small smile. Afterwards, footsteps echoed through the hall as the Headmaster walked out onto the stage, with the light beams focusing down onto her. The Headmaster was a young and frankly beautiful woman, with long, flowing, red hair that looked like a fire and and outfit straight out of a fantasy book, with it being a mix between a sorcerer robe and a detective coat or something. She also had deep red eyes, which were complimented by orange to yellow pupils, which once again, made her eyes look like a fire.

The Headmaster cleared her throat, before hitting her hands together twice and then smiling.

Headmaster: "Welcome everyone to the Evelias Magic Institutes opening ceremony for a new year of learning!"
