Chapter 121: Chapter 121: The Tempest Star System
In the office, Hua Qin activated a holographic display and reported to Feng Mo:
"Lacey has submitted a report on the exploration of the Demon Star System. It took one year and three and a half months to complete. Currently, nine habitable planets have been fully explored within the system, including one Tier 3 planet, three Tier 2 planets, and five Tier 1 planets."
"The Yun Jian Trading Company has delivered eight artificial atmosphere units. After planning and modifications, these planets can support a maximum population of around 50 billion. Currently, there are approximately 17 billion humans and humanoids residing there, including 3 billion former slaves who have all been restored to full citizenship."
"There are a total of 406 resource planets, including three at Tier 4. Mining teams have been dispatched to each resource planet."
Feng Mo nodded, pleased. Over the past year, the Demon Star System had been transformed under his leadership. His initial three reforms proved highly effective.
One year ago, with Derali's assistance, Feng Mo took control of the Demon Star System. Instead of rushing to rename it, he maintained its existing identity and implemented three policies:
1. Abolition of Slavery: All slaves were granted citizenship and provided with housing, employment, and education for their children.
2. Administrative Reorganization: Following the Storm Star System's organizational model, multiple departments were established. The military, led by Ai Er, was separated from the civil administration, led by Kylan. Both reported directly to Feng Mo.
3. Law Enforcement and Public Trials: Laila was tasked with establishing a temporary Security Bureau across the nine habitable planets, targeting crime and lawlessness. Over the past year, she led a crackdown, resulting in over 3 million public executions.
With improved security, enhanced quality of life, a comprehensive education system, and good welfare, the residents of the Demon Star System had little reason for dissent—let alone any desire to avenge Lawrence. Many barely even remembered his name.
However, they did remember Feng Mo, thanks to a constant stream of media that portrayed him as the dual-system lord under whom the people of both star systems were flourishing. This subtle propaganda encouraged citizens to believe that only under Feng Mo's leadership could they lead prosperous lives.
Now that order had been fully established, Feng Mo entered the Star Network to officially rename the Demon Star System as the Tempest Star System.
Meanwhile, Alisa's starship construction efforts had yielded significant results over the year. The flagship vessels for both the Explorer and Elf Fleets had been completed. However, Feng Mo hadn't upgraded them to quasi-T5 yet, partly due to a shortage of dark matter and dark energy crystals and partly because of time constraints.
The Explorer Fleet, having absorbed remnants from the Demon Star System, had grown into a formidable mixed T4 and T3 fleet of over 800 ships. The Elf Fleet had been streamlined, converting its T2 ships to civilian use, creating a mixed T4 and T3 fleet of over 600 ships.
The two fleets were now responsible for guarding the Tempest and Storm Star Systems, while the Storm Fleet maintained its elite status. Additionally, Alisa had equipped it with a new quasi-T5 flagship and supplied 10 T4 Kangaroo-class ships and 20 T4 Blade and Shield-class ships, bringing the fleet's T4 count to over 100.
The new flagship, a modified quasi-T5 Colossal-class Interstellar Carrier, had the following specifications:
Armor Strength: 400 units
Dimensions: 6 km x 1.2 km x 1 km
Speed: 370 knots (stellar speed)
Warp Engine: Level 4
Star Shield Energy: Upgraded Level 4, 100%
Weaponry: 500 modified T4-class starfighters, 200 modified T4-class kamikaze drones, 200 modified T4-class bombers, 100 modified T4-class armor-piercing ships
This flagship was well-armored, with a reinforced shield, allowing it to operate independently when accompanied by two industrial ships, effectively becoming a mobile battle group.
Now, with two star systems under his control, Feng Mo saw the need for a stable inter-system connection. He had submitted a request to the Federation for a new T4 stargate in the Tempest Star System. The request had been approved, with construction expected to complete by mid-next year.
"Lord Feng Mo, we've just received a communication from Commander Ai Er. A unique fleet has arrived in the Tempest Star System and is requesting an audience with you," Hua Qin reported.
"Oh? A unique fleet?" Feng Mo asked, intrigued.
"Yes, my lord. This fleet's ships appear to be entirely crystalline. Their species identifies as the Crystalcarvers, a humanoid race born from crystal. They're listed in the Federation's database but are rarely seen, as they dwell deep within the Chaos Star Sea and seldom interact with humans."
Hua Qin projected information on the Crystalcarvers onto the holographic display. Feng Mo quickly scanned it, fascinated by this rare species, which had only appeared in Federation history three times.
"Inform Commander Ai Er to allow the Crystalcarvers to enter the Tempest Star System and escort their fleet commander to meet with me," Feng Mo ordered.
"Yes, my lord!" Hua Qin relayed the message. Feng Mo waited about half an hour before hearing Xiao Y's voice at the door.
"Greetings to Commander Ai Er and esteemed guests. I am Xiao Y, an intelligent robot," Xiao Y said, bowing to Ai Er before turning to address the two Crystalcarvers.
"Hello, Xiao Y. I am Tian Guang, Commander of the Crystalcarver Fleet, and this is my second-in-command, Tian Ming."
Feng Mo examined the Crystalcarvers with curiosity. The race was indeed remarkable, humanoid in form but towering at around 2.5 meters. Their entire bodies were crystalline, and their features lacked distinguishable gender markers. Even the visible skin outside their combat suits was made of intricate crystalline patterns—a truly wondrous species.
"Please, have a seat. Xiao Y, serve tea," Feng Mo gestured to the oversized chairs on the other side of his desk. He had these custom-made in case he ever had to accommodate larger species, and today, they were coming in handy.
"Honorable Lord Feng Mo, we bring greetings from the Crystalcarver Fleet," Tian Guang said respectfully as both Crystalcarver commanders took their seats.
"I've heard that the Crystalcarvers reside in the depths of the Chaos Star Sea. What brings your fleet to the Tempest Star System?" Feng Mo inquired.
"Lord Feng Mo, we come seeking your assistance," Tian Guang replied. "Are you familiar with the New Human Church? They appear as ordinary humans but transform into monstrous beasts in battle, possessing formidable strength. They also command quasi-T5 starships."
Feng Mo's heart skipped a beat. The New Human Church? That name sounded familiar. He recalled a deluded cultist bishop attempting to recruit him long ago, only to be obliterated by his forces.
