Chapter 53: Combination
POV: Harry Terria
{You have selected 'System Mage'}
{...}
{A new selection of Class's will be created for you to select from.}
The second message surprised me, why would I have another class to choose from? But then I remembered the fact that because I was one of the first few to actually open the class selection menu, it had given me the ability to choose two classes and fuse them together into one. Well, it doesn't look like I did anything too bad at least. Hopefully, I'm going to get something good in the new selection.
{<ERROR> Interference-type, "skill <Hand of Fate> has interfered with the processes. Due to <In-System> interference, it will be accepted."}
...Well that isn't good. Hopefully, nothing too bad will be there.
I waited a little bit before a new 'window' appeared for me to look through. It had three choices just like last time, and looked like it would work just as it did previously. But the choices that were presented to me... they're weird. The first one is called 'Soul-Reaper' and has the following description: 'Your soul is your own, and so is your power over it. Your soul is now your weapon and will be able to hurt those of power.'
The second choice was named 'Fate-Weaver', and it's description was equally cryptic as the last one: 'Fate is a mysterious thing, to change it is to defy the very world; And yet, your very being will let you interfere. Every change can do everything, but every change comes at a price.' I don't like the way the word 'price' was written... it seemed more important than I could ever know.
The last choice of the three was a rather peculiar one; Its name being 'Metaphysical-Perception', it looked way out of place, even more so than the other class's... Its description didn't help matters: 'A rather amused entity decided to give you this option, it will let you perceive what you shouldn't and yet make you all the more blind to everything. Be careful, as this class might... change suddenly depending on the wills of others.'
None of them sounded all that appealing. The first one made me use my own soul as a weapon, the second one had a very clear message that using it might end up costing me more than any good it might do, and the last one was just plain creepy... it also made me feel like my own vision was swimming whenever I looked at it.
But the worst part of all of them was that they didn't have any skills. I didn't know what 'skills' were, but I had a sort of understanding that it was some sort of ability that the system would grant me. I don't think the classes themselves are supposed to give me those abilities...
I shook my head. I had already decided anyway. I concentrated on the class... and chose it.
