Soulbound - reincarnated as a zanpakuto

Chapter 36: Side Chapter 4

Some people were asking for info of whose pov I am writing so I will be letting you know when it changes.

I know that some people will probably start a shitstorm over what I decided to do in this chapter so I have a simple solution to their problem "Go write your own fanfic instead of crying in the comments!"

------------------------------------------------

(ALBEDO POV)

I finally achieved it!

Thinking about it, that was easier than I thought. I was thinking that Lady Atsune would require more time and nagging before she allowed me to join her and my master.

Once I heard that she agreed I quickly ran through to my chambers and packed afraid that she would change her mind if I was not fast enough. My baggage was not that big or heavy, especially since I was used to wearing heavy armour and wielding my axe.

Soul Queen seemed surprised that we took care of the black scripture. Considering everything she must have thought that it would be a fight that would need to be taken at least a little bit seriously, mostly due to world-level items.

After saying my goodbyes to lord Ainz and everyone I went with the soul queen to her realm. It's as breathtaking as always. Those structures, the people, it's wonderful. Even if some of them used to be a bunch of mongrels known as humans I like them now. Why? It's simple, they are no longer those cockroaches, but spirits. Doesn't matter who they were before, now they are something higher.

I noticed those small blushes that my lady gets while getting teased by the master. Hehe, it is so good that my plan worked.

I never was really interested in becoming a master's wife. After all, I am just a servant, but if he asked I would. Then, why did I start to throw myself at him? Simple. I noticed how they both looked at each other and saw that spark between them. Unfortunately, they both were so passive not acting on it at all! It would take ages for them to get together!

So I threw myself at him to make my lady have a sense of competition and urgency that someone might steal him from her. That made her stop being passive which in turn made him also do the same.

I am a matchmaker! A succubuss matchmaker!

The journey to Soul Society was swift and surreal. I stood at the threshold of a new beginning. Lady Atsune had brought me here with a purpose, and that purpose was about to unfold.

We arrived at the laboratory, a place that buzzed with spiritual energy. It is governed by two men, from their white haori I figure that they are captains. One of them is this weird eccentric wearing a hat and sandals. The other one is an average-looking man in glasses. He seems to be kind and harmless, but I know better. This guy gives vibes similar to Demiurge, if I remember correctly he was actually the one who was spending some time with him in Nazaric some time ago, the only difference is that he wasn't wearing any glasses then. I had heard much about these men, and their reputation as eccentric geniuses in Soul Society. Even if one is seen more like a crazy prankster while the other is a total schemer. But to be here, to witness their creations and feel the hum of the reiatsu around me, it was something entirely different, it feels similar but works differently than mana. A mix of excitement and nerves churned within me as I realized this was the moment of truth.

Lady Atsune led me inside, where both Urahara and Aizen awaited. The two of them stood side by side, an unlikely pair. Urahara wore his typical easy-going smile, fan in hand, while Aizen stood calmly, his sharp gaze assessing me.

Urahara greeted, waving his fan.

"It's quite rare for us to perform something like this, but the soul queen insisted."

Aizen, as usual, was far more reserved, though there was an unmistakable glint of interest in his eyes.

"Turning your body into a spiritual one… it's fascinating. But you should be prepared. This will alter you in ways beyond just the physical."

They wasted no time. Urahara gestured for me to step into a central circle that had been drawn on the floor, surrounded by various glowing symbols. Aizen stood behind him, watching closely, while Lady Atsune observed from the side, her presence reassuring.

The captain in glasses gave me some sort of a device that looked like a bracelet. I put it on my left hand just in time when the hat-wearing one gave me some sort of liquid to drink.

"The circle is using a binding Kidou that will ensure that your being will not dissipate before forming into a spiritual body. The liquid starts the process and makes it smoother while the bracelet works like some sort of guide that tells spiritual particles of yours to reform and how to do it."

I drank the whole thing in one gulp. It tasted disgusting and had a texture like mud, but I was prepared for it. Then I felt an intense pressure surround me. My body began to tingle, as though it was being broken down, bit by bit, into something else. A rush of energy filled me, and I could sense my physical form dissolving, reshaping into something more… ethereal.

Then came Aizen's reiatsu, cold and calculated. His energy flowed through me like a current, stabilizing the chaotic sensation that threatened to overwhelm my senses. It was disorienting, feeling the shift from physical to spiritual, but it was also exhilarating.

Moments passed, though they felt like hours, and finally, the energy subsided. I opened my eyes and looked at my hands, feeling lighter, and more attuned to the spiritual realm around me. My body had indeed changed, I was no longer confined to my mortal shell. I was one of them now.

"Congratulations, you're officially a spiritual being."

Urahara said with a grin, snapping his fan shut.

Lady Atsune stepped forward, placing a hand on my shoulder.

"How do you feel?"

I smiled, a sense of power coursing through me.

"Stronger. I feel… like I belong here now."

With that, I was led to the heart of Soul Society, where the other captains awaited.

The grand hall of Soul Society was vast, filled with an air of solemnity and respect. As I entered, flanked by Lady Atsune and the two Captains, the eyes of the Gotei 13 captains fell upon me.

Each of them carried an unmistakable aura of authority and power. Some faces were familiar from both Lady Atsune's descriptions as well as books in the Nazarick's library, Captain Kyoraku with his laid-back demeanour Zaraki Kenpachi, whose bloodlust was practically palpable even when he wasn't in battle, and Unohana, her calm presence masking the depth of her strength. Others, like Byakuya Kuchiki, were more reserved, but no less commanding.

From my knowledge, the strongest among them could rival a floor guardian. It means that all of them should be weaker than me, but I feel the sheer difference in power they can overcome with skill alone. Not that it matters, to begin with, we are allies after all.

In the centre of the hall, laid out before me, was the symbol of my new role, a white captain's haori, emblazoned with the emblem of the newly established 14th Division.

I approached, my heart racing with anticipation. Lady Atsune handed me the haori, and for a moment, I hesitated. This symbolized more than just a title. It was recognition of my strength, of my loyalty, and of the trust Lady Atsune had in me. I was no longer a Guardian Overseer. I am a captain of the Gotei 13 or rather, the Gotei 14 now.

I slipped the haori on, feeling its weight settle on my shoulders.

Zaraki grinned, his eyes glinting with excitement.

"Another strong one, huh? We'll have to see just how strong when we get the chance."

"I look forward to working with you."

Unohana smiled kindly, though I could sense the hidden edge in her gaze.

The formalities were brief. The other captains greeted me, some with warmth, others with cautious respect. It was clear that I was still an outsider to many of them, a stranger brought into their ranks. But I didn't mind. I was here to prove myself, and I would earn their trust.

As the meeting ended, I found myself walking alongside Lady Atsune and Urahara. We exchanged light conversation until we were interrupted by none other than Zaraki Kenpachi.

"Oi, you, You fight?"

I blinked, momentarily caught off guard.

"Yes, I do."

"Good. Gotta test the new blood at some point."

Before I could respond, Lady Atsune stepped in, her tone playful yet firm.

"Kenpachi, let her settle in before you start your tests. Besides, she's not going anywhere."

Kenpachi laughed heartily, but the look in his eyes promised that he wouldn't forget. A fight with him seemed inevitable, and oddly enough, I found myself looking forward to it.

As the captains began to disperse, Byakuya or at least I think that's his name approached, his posture stiff and formal.

"You're the one who Lady Atsune brought in from the tomb?"

I nodded.

"Yes. I am."

"I'll be watching your progress."

And with that, he turned and left, his words hanging in the air.

As we left the hall, Lady Atsune gave me an encouraging smile.

"Don't mind him. It'll take time for Byakuya to get used to you. Between us, he always had a stick deep in his arse. All right, normally I would ask someone to show you around, but I will do it myself today."

The 14th Division was mine to lead, and I was ready to show the Soul Society just how powerful I truly was.
