Chapter 12: Chapter 12- Her true self
"Haru! Are you okay?!"
Jinah was frozen shocked at her place after she and all the people within two fifty meters radius heard the thunderous explosion which created a slight shockwave and a huge crater and got the giant wolf killed in the process.
It was not a weapon that landed on the spot but a boy in his teenage years who was able to cease the life of a C-rank boss like it was nothing to get so many lives to be wasted on. He punched a hole right through the cranium of that massive creature like a needle in a balloon. Truly unbelievable.
The blue-haired healer and the still half-conscious tank could only gape at the sight of someone who doesn't give away that much threatening presence but still was able to kill that monster like it was just a walk in the park for him.
Jinah, more than succumbing to being impressed by the sheer display of strength Haru exhibited, chose to check on his condition first, as she ran at full speed toward the location, disregarding her safety in the process.
When she reached there, Jinah saw Haru pulling out his arm which was stuck inside the wolf, as blue thick liquid gushed out along with his arm and spattered some on Haru as well. However, it didn't stop Jinah from approaching the boy before she picked up his arm and began scanning it.
Haru was not able to suppress his smile as he saw the panicked girl roaming her eyes all around his arm, scared to find any injury yet worried enough to let go. At that moment, Haru fell for the girl all over again.
Someone so sweet...this cruel world didn't deserve her...
....only he did.
"I am okay, Jinah. Rather let me help those first before we can talk."
Jinah didn't know what Haru meant. One because she was so anxious and second, she knew Haru was not a healer, probably since that strength he displayed definitely doesn't belong to someone who had attributes for recovery. She had such the feeling of it, no actual knowledge being honest.
The blue-haired girl who didn't let the shock take over her mind tried to help her dying friends and raid members who had their limbs cut off and at the death door where only a B rank or above healer could save them.
Despite her being only a C-rank, the girl tried to use her remaining mana on the victims but she knew it was her wishful fantasy to save them. Heck, she was not sure whether she could even save any one of them either at all.
But suddenly her eyes widened when a tinge of a blue light covered one of her comrades who had his forelimbs cut off and a big cut right across his chest.
The healer turned toward the mysterious blindfolded boy only to get stunned to see him now. The same was for Jinah who was standing just beside Haru yet she was so captivated currently that she didn't even notice how low her jaw was hanging.
Reason?
To use his skill [Regrowth], Haru had to read the information every living creature had and for that, he needed to use his Six Eyes, thus no blindfolds.
It was the first time Jinah to see something so...beautiful. His pearly vibrant blue eyes sparkled so bright that they made her heart leap at the first glance, snatching all her attention and putting her in a trance from where Jinah herself didn't want to leave.
Though there was some kind of uncertain feeling in her heart to know that Haru showed his eyes to others as well, but Jinah decided to think about it later since for now, her whole being was just falling in a daze at the sight, her eyes were treated with.
This was the same for the healer as well as the other teammates of the raid unit as well, who forgot to notice how they were able to get their original state back with all their limbs intact and help back to a hundred percent. The trance of Haru's eyes was powerful and equally dangerous for both genders, that was certain.
In the process, Haru restored himself to get clean before he turned toward the fallen girl.
"Okay now, miss healer."
The blue-haired girl blushed under Haru's gaze, suddenly being conscious of her appearance when suddenly Haru leaned forward and brushed away her hair out of the view of her eyes as he spoke his parting words.
"If possible then stay quiet about the matter, okay?"
The girl nodded under Haru's alluring gaze and his hot breath, making the girl feel like a maiden who was lost in love and ready to be taken away by her knight who came to save her in shining armor. But all she could do now was to stare at his back.
Haru knew that what he did today wouldn't be kept a secret since it wasn't just the girl who saw what he did but he had to try and keep his identity secret for the time being, if possible. Though he had no issue if happens otherwise.
He tied the black fabric around his eyes before picking Jinah in a princess carry since the media was hurling their way toward the scene, ready to capture the footage.
"Ah!"
Jinah yelped in surprise and before she could have said anything, she found the ground distancing away far and far before she instinctively wrapped her hand around Haru's neck, in fear of being dropped to death.
She snuggled close to him, before asking in a loud yet shaky tone.
"Why this flashy exit?!"
Haru chuckled inwardly to see the startled Jinah who was trying not to look down yet failing every time since her curiosity always got the better of her.
He slowed down his pace so Jinah could relax for a bit as while flying still high, he whispered the reason for his sudden action.
"Reporters were about to arrive on the scene and I didn't want us to get telecasted...Sorry for being too sudden, though."
Jinah nodded in understanding, her previous panic vanishing since Haru was now a lot slower than before, providing her with the necessary pace to get accommodated in the high altitude.
She turned her head to see the horizon which was glittering with a beautiful reddish-orange hue as the flock of birds flew past them making Jinah smile in amazement and delight, to be greeted with such exceptional sight.
"Are you fine now?"
At one point, Haru just stood in mid-air to give Jinah a proper view of the setting sun, before asking in a warm tone, since the previous anxiety Jinah showed made Haru troubled and slightly guilty for bringing her there.
Jinah stayed silent in response, conflicting thoughts clashing actively inside her mind but in the end, she chose to say the truth with her eyes never leaving the scenery.
"You know...my brother is also an E-rank hunter who until some time ago, was not much good to handle raids resulting in his regular injuries. But since he had to do the hunting job so I could pursue my dream, he never complained and always smiled whenever I asked, whether everything was fine."
Haru was aware of the fact that Jin-Woo was the weakest E-rank hunter until some time ago, before the double dungeon incident when he gained the system. His incurring injuries and getting admitted to the hospital was not something, as a reader, he was able to understand, but Jinah was his sister and thus, Haru could somehow comprehend what mental stress she must have been going through.
Not only was her father away, waiting for the shadow monarch's emergence and her mother was still in her eternal slumber but Jinah had to keep up with her studies despite being in such an unstable emotional condition, to not make her family disappointed in her.
"You know, when I saw those hunters, injured...close to death... I... I saw Oppa's face in them....even though I didn't want to...I somehow felt that he must have gotten hurt like that as well...and thinking of that...I wa-was n-"
"It's okay, you don't have to say, Jinah. I understand."
Haru interjected in between since the girl was nearly choking herself because of the rain of tears flowing down her cheeks and disappearing in the thin air.
Haru never thought Jinah was so pent up with stress that all time a cheerful and fun-loving girl could get this emotional. Though she looked cute like this as well, Haru had no thoughts of letting her cry any longer so he steadily made his way back to her apartment and landed just inside her room through the window.
It took some time to calm her down before Haru brought water for her and ordered something online to eat.
Due to his constant jokes and amusing past events which actually happened in his past life, Jinah was able to recover from her trauma quite a bit. It might not be a great idea to bring her to the dungeon site, but due to that, Haru now has a better insight into who Sung Jinah actually is.
******
It was over four in the morning when Jin-Woo returned home after dropping Han Song-Yi at her apartment. The red gate took a lot of time more than he primarily thought. Not to talk about, Jin-Woo failed to extract the ice elf boss as well.
'I better get some sleep
Jin-Woo's hand paused he was about to open the door before his eyes narrowed and while using his skill [Stealth] he disappeared from the site and approached the entity standing on the rooftop that had a familiar mana signature.
After seeing the familiar face he was expecting, Jin-Woo deactivated his skill to appear in front.
"How did the raid go, sunbae?"
