Sol Vestitor: New Age of God

Chapter 133: The Fifth Person

Sol and his friend went to the city lord mansion once the day of their departure arrived, the old man went with them to meet the city lord as well.

"Yo, Tobi you come as well?" The city lord greeted the old man before nodding at Sol and his friend.

"Yes, I'm here to see Tyx before she goes to the trial ground," the old man replied as he looked at the girl standing beside the city lord.

"You remember what I told you right Tyx? Don't forget about it, that's the only way we can get back to the mortal realm," he said to the girl who nodded resolutely.

"Anyway, let me introduce you, this is Tyx, she will be going with you to the trial ground, she has the map and instruction we prepared so you will need to protect her and follow her instruction," the city lord informed them.

The girl only nodded at them as a greeting, she seemed to be the silent beauty type, when she nodded, her beautiful red hair swayed from the movement.

"We will need to babysit her?" Tom looked doubtful at the city lord.

"She doesn't need your protection, you just need to help her from time to time," the old man replied before the city lord.

"Fine," they agreed but Sol could feel his hairs stand on end when Tom called Tyx a burden.

"Was it my imagination?" he wondered silently.

"Anyway, it's time to depart, if you want to back down then this is your chance," the city lord informed them.

No one answered which pleased him so much, he would be disappointed if the people he wanted to help actually were a coward.

"Good, let's get going" he turned to his mansion and opened the door rather than led them out of the city.

Sol and the other followed with a confused look on their face, only Tyx knew what was waiting for them.

"I thought the trial ground is far away, who knows it actually is in the mansion," Sol thought to himself while silently following the city lord.

They reached an open hall with nothing in it, before Sola and the others could ask what was going on, the floor part in two revealing stairs heading down, it was so deep that they could not see how deep it went.

"Follow me," the city lord led them down the stairs, while he conjured an emerald crystal that glowed in the dark.

They walked and walked for a long time. Sol lost track of time, the stairs would turn left and right from time to time, sometimes he felt like there would be no end to it.

"We almost got there," the city lord's voice pulled him out of his thoughts as a bright room could be seen in front of them.

When Sol and the others get into the room, they see a giant door made of stone and metal, it reminds him of the teleportation gate.

"This is it, once you get in, there will be a lot of doors on the other side, but don't touch any of them, the gates connect to other cities so you might get in trouble if you went there recklessly," the city lord warned them.

Once they heard the man's warning, Sol and the other follow Tyx into the gate, a familiar feeling of being teleported hit Sol, disorienting him for a bit.

"Don't let your guard down, this is no longer a safe-zone," Tyx talked for the first time.

But rather than a gentle voice, her voice was really arrogant and haughty, it was 180 degrees from her previous image.

"Come on, you have to keep up with me, I don't have time to babysit you weaklings," She said as she walked toward the center of the room.

"Ugh... she really does hold a grudge huh?" Sol mumble as her remark.

The room was exactly like how the city lord had told them, the room had a lot of doors while at the center of the room was a portal, that will lead them to the trial ground.

Sol and the other hurriedly follow the girl as she was the only person who had the map the city lord made for them.

Just as they were about to pass through the portal, another door opened and three people passed through the gate.

"Hey, look! They have horns and hooves!" Jennie pointed at them.

The three who went from the door were human with hooves as feet and a bull face, their body was bigger and taller than a normal human.

"They are minotaurs, we don't have time to play with them, let's leave before they go on a rampage," The girl said then she passed through the portal leaving Sol and his friends behind.

"Let's go, if we are slow, I bet she will leave us behind!" Sol hurried the other as he followed the girl.

Passing through the portal, Sol felt another nausea hit him, this was worse than passing through the teleportation gate.

Sol fell on both knees and heaved for breath as he held himself from puking, behind him the other also followed with a similar reaction, only Tyx who went in first felt nothing from it.

Once they regained some of their cool, they looked up to find themselves in a room with two doors, one to the left while the other to the right.

"Which way should we go?" Sol asked Txy because only she knows what is ahead.

"City lord only tells me what is behind the left door, we don't know what is behind the right door," She answered as the city lord never explored each door.

"Then we will go there, what is behind it?" Sol asked but it displeased the girl.

"I'm in charge here, don't command me around, understand?" she glared at Sol, it made him wonder where did the polite and silent girl go.

"Let's go to the right, behind the left door we will need to fight a minor demigod to pass the first trial," she commanded.

"Wait, isn't it better that we fight one minor demigod? With the five of us we would be able to beat it," Jennie disagreed.

"Not without a cost, let's go to the right, we might find some other trial," she insisted that they could not decline.

"Fuck, this girl is so annoying, she is worse than Tea when we first started," Tom whispered at Sol.

"Yeah, I don't know why the city lord needs us to be with her, something is not right," he replied.

"What are you waiting for? Let's go before the minotaurs catch up," Txy hurried them forward toward the right door.

When she pushed the door open, all five of them were pulled inside to an arena, "Welcome to the first trial!" a robotic voice could be heard.

Suddenly from the ground, liquid metals poured out and divided into five forms, each of them looked exactly like Sol and the other.

"This is a doppelganger trial, you will need to beat yourself in this trial, only when you win then you can enter the real trial ground!" the robotic voice resound.

"Doppelganger trial?" Sol mumbled as he got a headache, he had fought his own doppelganger and he could say that it was harder than any fight he ever did.

"I think the fight will be five on five, so we could fight other people doppelganger than our own, it will be easier that way," Sol suggested but it displeased Tyx more.

"I'm the leader here, you will follow my instruction and only mine, understood?" She questioned them.

They could only helplessly look at each other before nodding at her, "For now, we could only follow her will," Sol thought as the following trials would be harder and they would need the information she has with her.

Sol went toward his own doppelganger while the other also did the same, once they stepped in front of the doppelganger, they started to move and directly attack their real counterpart.

Sol's doppelganger summoned a knife made of liquid metal and attacked him, but to his surprise, the doppelganger conjured something that only Sol could sense.

"Knife aura?!" he got alarmed and started to conjure his own aura to keep up with his opponent.

The metal Sol conjured a dozen ice projectiles and sent them flying toward Sol, rather than conjuring a barrier, Sol tried his best to dodge the projectile.

"I can use this chance to sharpen my knife!" He thought as he focused on utilizing his knife aura conjuring ability.

Each time Sol gets close to another doppelganger, he would conjure his knife aura in their body.

But that comes with its own risk, each time Sol gets close with another doppelganger, they would attack him.

Luckily his teammates stopped their metal counterpart before they could hit him from the side, the only exception was Tyx.

Sol was getting closer to her doppelganger when it suddenly conjured a water ball smashing him to the side, "Fuck!" Sol cursed as he got thrown right toward the metal Sol's knife.
