Interlude: Focalor and Claudia talk
"I suppose you didn't simply come here for a tea party, did you, Focalor?" Witch Queen Claudia talks to me in a very controlled manner while they pour out a drink for me, which was usual at this point, yet she would be right about my motives to come to her in times like these.
"The seal protecting this world from the gods of destruction game is corroding beyond repair, Claudia. We have to do something about it." Queen Claudia soon finished pouring out some tea for me, which I gladly took away from her hands since I had come here in peace.
"I've already looked into the situation, but as things stand, there's just no way that the humans, elves, and demons will ever get along to reinforce the seal." Claudia's words do not give me any sort of confidence in what awaits this world, as it will not be able to survive the cataclysm.
"Are the other races really necessary? I've been growing a considerable amount of powerful servants. I have capable hands; isn't that enough?" Claudia doesn't seem to take my offer too seriously or interested, as she only stuffs her face with the pastries on her desk.
Still, I don't think that she is necessarily taking the news too lightly, but perhaps she just knows the too-obvious answer to my suggestion, which would be what I feared all along. Claudia was just too polite to tell me, 'No, your idea is dumb,' to my face.
"We could try reinforcing the seal ourselves, but how long would that hold? Maybe a couple hundred years more? And then what?"
Claudia brings up a very valid point; as it stands, the seal that was put in place last time has been held for several thousand years, but that was because it was set by the most powerful being ever to walk this planet, the original Witch Queen.
"I guess you're right, but then what do we do? This world will not survive the god of destruction's game."
"That is a problem, yet I have no answers. Besides, we can't even delay the game anymore, thanks to that descender bitch." Claudia again reminds me of the one who shouldn't be named, but that is always the cause of all trouble in this world, 'The descender.'
"I had forgotten about them. It's just that I can't help but feel that they might not even be watching anymore." Claudia laughs at me once I finish my sentence, finally leaving her polite nature aside at my comment like I'm missing the plot.
"What's so funny?" I ask.
"Do you think they would do so much damage, humiliate all the world gods, and imprison the progenitor like it wasn't a big deal just to leave? Oh no, my friend, the descender is probably draining the power away from the seal so quickly."
Again, Claudia was right; as I remember it, the seal should've been able to stand for a few thousand more years, but it's suddenly drained out so much it would require the help of the entire world to restore it, which, as she has said, is next to impossible with the current state of affairs.
"What if we try and defeat the descender!? You and me! We could!" Claudia soon took her hat off and finished sipping off her tea cup before she denied my idea with a concise answer.
"We don't even stand a chance, Focalor, and you know it. As mighty as you have become, you would instantly die against the descender, not to talk about me. I would also die instantly." Claudia states.
"Tsk! Damn that stupidly overpowered celestial. It's unfair how we train so hard for our power to be so easily crushed by some bored celestial being looking for fun." I also finish drinking my tea now, angrier than ever at my incompetence. If only I were more powerful.
"I know, but as much as it pisses me off as well, I also understand their motives, and thus, I do have a plan to deal with this whole thing." Claudia's statement brings hope to my heart, and I nod along to her words, signaling that I'm all ears to whatever she might have in mind.
"We can get the descender to reconstruct our holy weapons in exchange for a more 'fun' show. If it's fun what they look for, then we could try to get them to rebuild our world's holy weapons; the problem is that she might just kill us if we even try to disturb them. It's a gamble." \
Rebuild our holy weapons? I guess if she could defeat the entire pantheon of gods and imprison the one who conquered that pantheon for the first time a while back, then it would make sense that they might be able to do such a thing.
"I will do it. If there's someone whose life doesn't matter, it's mine. I'm the perfect subject to do this; your people need you."
"It will be more difficult than you think; getting the descender even to acknowledge you is hard, but getting an audience with them, I don't even know how to do that myself."
