Chapter 74: Greed Domain (2)
Tap! Tap! Tap! Sakim's wooden slippers hitting the road echoed in his surroundings as he got more and more closer to Julius. But the other party's expressions wouldn't escape his eyes as Sakim could tell that this man was up to something. But since his instinct was telling him that it was fine as he felt no danger, Sakim continued to walk closer.
After all, Sakim trusted his instinct that much. He didn't know why but it was the reason why he survived many dangers in his past life.
By having greed that toppled everyone else, he would naturally make plenty of enemies. And they would naturally do everything to make his situation bad if not worse. And sometimes, they would even attempt to kill him to make him their stepping stone.
But no one had succeeded. No one had even managed to take advantage of him. Not even once. Sakim remained triumphant in the face of any of them as only his instinct was mostly by his side. It always warned him if the situation was favorable for him or not, giving him the head start. He never let anyone take advantage of him, and contrary to that, he was the one who always did so. That was the reason why he reached the top, his greed instinct, his heaven-defying greed.
And this man was actually trying to do something against him? The world must be mad if he really succeeded in his plan.
With that in mind, Sakim finally reached his distance towards Julius as he halted his step just in front of him. He looked into the other party's eyes before finally letting out a slight smile.
But then, before Sakim could even do anything, Julius finally revealed a grin.
"You brought this upon yourself, don't blame me for being impolite." Julius sneered coldly as he finally unleashed his Greed Domain.
His Greed Energy then came out of his body and ran wild within the three meters radius, threatening to steal everything in their presence.
"Greed Domain!" Kristina and Izel blurted out as their eyes widened in shock. Julius was actually capable of doing such a feat? Just when did he become so capable?
"Master, be careful!" The two of them shouted in worry as they rushed forward to pull their master out of the domain. It would be dangerous even for them but since it was to save their master, then it was more than fine.
One must know that Greed Domain was capable of greed suppression. It could suppress anyone with weaker Greed Energy causing them to kneel and be terrified before the owner of the domain. If worse came to worst, they might even lose their mind and gained trauma from the experience.
But wait... Weaker Greed Energy?
The two had just managed to take a few steps forward when they suddenly recalled something. Now that they thought about it, they finally realized that they worried for nothing. They couldn't help but exchange a glance with a bitter smile.
This Julius was actually trying to use greed suppression against the Vessel of the Greed sin? Kristina and Izel only found it hilarious the more they thought about it.
"How can you remain calm inside my Greed Domain? Aren't you affected by it?" Julius' grin suddenly turned into a frown when he noticed that even after creating a Greed Domain, the other party wasn't affected at all. Could it be that he had a valuable item that could protect him from greed suppression? This was really troublesome. Rich kids were really always so damn annoying. Each and every one of them!
Since Julius wasn't able to suppress the other party, stealing anything from him was already impossible. That said, there was no point in unleashing his Greed Domain anymore as it could be said that his plan had just failed. The more he thought about it, the more exp his frustrations could gain. Just a little more and it would really level up at any moment.
"What do you mean?" Sakim tilted his head slightly as he asked, bewildered, "What Greed Domain? And why would I be affected by that?"
"You..." And just like that, his frustrations gained a huge bucket of exp as it finally leveled up. He couldn't help gritting his teeth as veins appeared on his head. This guy was asking for common knowledge? He must really be messing with him and was humiliating him! And what kind of expression was that? How could he asked him as if he didn't really know about it? This guy was really good at acting!
"Who are you?! What kind of background do you have for them to give you a divine item that could protect you from my Greed Domain?! Which top families or top forces do you belong to? And how come you are alone here? What are you doing in this place? Don't tell me someone is watching you from the shadows because I already scanned the surroundings and I found no one. Unless they are High Ranker assassins... I naturally wouldn't be able to detect them. But if that's the case, then they would immediately warn me the moment I arrived here with a malicious intention against you. So it is safe to assume that no one is watching over you... So what now? How could blah, blah, blah, blah, so on and so forth."
Julius asked plenty of questions in a serious manner. Since he already failed, he just planned to buy some more time for his other comrades to arrived. He already messaged them that he was in deep trouble and utterly needed their help.
"Just you wait, you bastard..." Julius cursed inwardly. He didn't care whatever background did this guy have. With his identity as a bandit, it had to be known that many people wanted him dead so he wasn't afraid of the top forces.
"Are you done yet?" Sakim interrupted the other party as he asked nonchalantly hearing the barrage of questions that rained down on him. "Shouldn't you say your last words rather than asking something meaningless?"
"You..." Julius gritted his teeth then again. Just because he wasn't able to do anything now, this guy was acting high and mighty before him? It really was frustrating no matter how he looked at it. But learning that letting himself be swayed by frustrations could only do him no good, Julius took a deep breath. He then suddenly turned serious as he said, "Then let me say my last words..."
After which, Julius organized his thoughts as he prepared a long narration of his last words, enough for his comrades to arrive. So after a moment of silence, he then said, "It's like this..."
