Chapter 68: Chapter -68 The green grass sways.

Chapter -68.

As a group made their way to the Morning Snow Academy, Ye Chen stood patiently, waiting for them to arrive.

"Hey there!"

Liu Erlong spotted Ye Chen and smiled, eager to greet him. But then she remembered she didn't know his real name—only his nickname, Shadow.

Thinking back to their encounter three days ago, she felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her. That day felt like a beautiful dream, and she didn't want to wake up from it.

"Wow, is this the new Morning Snow Academy? It's huge! Even bigger than the Tiandou Royal Academy!"

Liu Erlong's friends, who had come with her, marveled at the impressive academy buildings.

Liu Erlong approached Ye Chen and said, "So, I'm officially a teacher here now! Since you're around, some of my friends and their students are interested in joining the academy. Is that okay?"

"Hi there! I'm a master from Suotuo City. I heard your academy just opened, and we're really eager to join. Is the principal available? We'd love to pay a visit!"

Master Yu Xiaogang extended his hand to Ye Chen, asking politely.

Just then, Zhang Ming, who was on duty at the academy gate, stepped forward and frowned at Yu Xiaogang. "Master, please mind your tone. The person in front of you is our only named vice principal at Morning Snow Academy. Who do you want him to invite?"

"A vice principal this young?"

Yu Xiaogang looked surprised, realizing that the seemingly under-20 Ye Chen held such an important position.

"Are you interested in joining the Imperial Academy?"

"Yes, Vice Dean! I didn't mean to offend earlier; we genuinely want to join. Please consider it!" The Master smiled, trying to ease the tension, and gestured for Dai Mubai and Tang San to step forward. "Honestly, our Shrek team's biggest achievement so far is defeating the Royal Team in Soto City. Joining the Imperial Academy would be a win-win for everyone!"

"Shadow, you should totally agree! The Imperial Academy is new and could really use some talent, which is why I brought them here."

Liu Erlong leaned in closer to Ye Chen, explaining her intentions. She wanted to help fill the academy with students and teachers.

"I appreciate the offer, but I can't agree to this."

Ye Chen spoke calmly, aware of his unique position. With Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing being so close to him, he needed to be cautious about too much interaction, as it could lead to unwanted attention.

"Vice Dean Shadow, if I'm not mistaken, the only seven students in your academy are from the Heaven Dou Royal Team's second team, while our Shrek students have defeated the official Royal Team. Can't you reconsider?"

Flander, unable to accept Ye Chen's refusal, spoke up in frustration.

"And what if I don't?"

Ye Chen's response left Flander momentarily speechless, his tone suggesting he wasn't impressed by their past victories.

At that moment, Master Yu Xiaogang stepped in and pulled the upset Flander back. "Let it go; if he doesn't see the value in our Shrek team, it's his loss. Let's head to the Blue Tyrant Academy instead."

Flander shot Ye Chen a glare, hidden beneath his black cloak, and said, "I hope we don't cross paths at the Senior Soul Master Academy Competition; our Shrek team won't hold back. How long do you think your second team can last?"

"Well, you can ask Erlong about that later."

Ye Chen shrugged, leaving Flander puzzled.

After shaking his head, Flander turned to Liu Erlong. "Sister, let's go. The Morning Snow Imperial Academy isn't all that great; we might as well leave."

But Liu Erlong didn't seem ready to go just yet. She pulled out a Blue Tyrant Academy badge from her pocket and handed it to Flander. "Boss, I'm now a teacher at the Imperial Academy, and the Blue Tyrant Academy isn't managing it anymore. Why not take this? It honors our friendship over the years."

"What's that supposed to mean? Xiao Gang is still here; don't you want to chat with him more?"

"Boss." Liu Erlong glanced at Ye Chen and quickly interrupted Flander, "So many years have passed; let's not dwell on the past. There was nothing serious between me and Xiao Gang. Besides, he's my distant cousin; our relationship ended 20 years ago."

"Are you serious?"

Flander asked, somewhat incredulous, but Liu Erlong leaned closer to Ye Chen and nodded earnestly. "Yes, I've thought it through. Family ties have their reasons, and I've moved on. I have someone I like now, so letting go is better for everyone."

With that simple statement, the Master's face went pale. He felt like he was wearing an invisible hat of shame.

But who could blame him? A man who had avoided love for 20 years didn't deserve to have it, did he?

Twenty years—how many chances does a person get? If Flander hadn't dragged him to the imperial capital, Yu Xiaogang might never have wanted to see Liu Erlong again, just like how he had treated Bibidong coldly back then—a complete scumbag.

"You're right, but what about Xiao Gang..."

"What about him? He hid for 20 years; what does it matter now? I've moved on."

Liu Erlong's tone was firm, and Flander began to understand what Ye Chen had meant earlier. He looked at the Master, hoping he would say something. After all, the hat of shame was already on his head; could he really stay silent?

To his disappointment, Yu Xiaogang simply walked up to Liu Erlong, took the Blue Tyrant Academy badge, said, "Thanks!" and walked away toward the Blue Tyrant Academy without looking back.

Seeing this, Flander's disappointment was evident, his beard trembling with anger.

Without saying another word, Flander quickly led Tang San and the rest of the Shrek teachers and students to catch up with Yu Xiaogang.

Once Tang San and the others were out of sight, Liu Erlong turned to Ye Chen, looking a bit apologetic. "I'm sorry! I thought bringing them here would help the Imperial Academy grow faster, but I didn't expect my friends to be a bit rude. I'll apologize to you on their behalf."

Hearing this, Ye Chen couldn't help but smile playfully. "It's all good! You treated me like that three days ago, so this is nothing compared to that!"

"Don't push your luck."

Liu Erlong recalled the chaos of that day, her cheeks flushing a rosy hue. But she still had a lingering question, so she leaned closer to Ye Chen and whispered, "Why didn't you take me that day? Is it because I'm not charming enough?"

A hint of allure sparkled in her eyes, leaving Ye Chen astonished. He thought, "Is this what they mean by a woman being as fierce as a wolf?" But he also knew he needed to indulge her a bit.

With that thought, a mischievous smile crept onto Ye Chen's face as he gently bit her earlobe and murmured, "Are you craving my body?"

Liu Erlong turned bright red, feeling flustered and nervous, not daring to look at him, yet she unconsciously leaned closer.

Seeing this, Ye Chen scooped Liu Erlong up and headed toward the dean's office.

Zhang Ming, who was waiting at the gate, watched in awe, silently giving a thumbs up.
