Chapter 153: Three Women

The third battle of the Madeleine Royal is to commence, to be fought between the Captain and the Stranded against the Prodigy and the Thoughtful. The crowd is relatively uninterested in this fight because it lacks the potential for absolute chaos the previous two brought. They believe the fight is predictable, as either the Captain blows the competition with his superior strength or the Prodigy makes everyone dance around her palm. One of the commentators claims that she can predict the winner based on the names of the shadow clones, much to the chagrin of her fellow commentator, who doesn't believe her. Down below, the two pairs discuss strategy.

"So what should we do, Oceana?" The Captain cracks his knuckle, elated and nervous about fighting both a sister of his Best Man and the lauded Prodigy of Bellum. "A bum rush or something slow?"
'Based on what sister Kine has said before, we must attack before Mila can analyse us.' The Stranded writes on her notebook. 'So we must bum rush.'
"Not using your Extra Hands?" Questions the owner of a harem, noticing the notebook in the shadow clone's actual pair of hands rather than a floating pair of hands.

'A hidden trump card. I have yet to inform my sisters of it. Oddly convenient, is it not?'

"Very convenient."

On the other side of the arena is the duo of Kine and Mila Phobos, who seemed to not be concerned with discussing strategy. Rather, the Prodigy's gaze is focused on the box filled with the other participants, particularly on two individuals: Her aunt Sherry and the object of her obsession Madeleine. Eventually, her shoulder is tapped by the shadow clone assigned to her, hoping to learn the action plan.

Mila takes one quick look at her opponents, then turns to Kine. "Captain Gus Jarkin. He holds the Sacred Power 'Punch'. Utilise the rifle to take him out before he can reach you. As for your fellow shadow clone, I leave that to your discretion. The fight between you two matters not to me," She turns back to the private box the other combatants observe from and lets out a manic smile. "Especially with your origin in attendance. Oh, how I wish to face her. I can barely imagine the things I'll be forced to learn."

Kine nods in response, creating an Earthly weapon out of the nearby darkness, one that Mila had easily deconstructed not long ago, which was instrumental in Bellum's defence against invaders and the slaying of many vampires. She takes aim, her iron sight on the Captain, waiting for the signal to start.

"She has a fucking gun!" Darky excitedly exclaims before maniacally laughing. She may be a rulebreaker, but even she forgot about the possibility of bringing in modern Earth or even futuristic Earth weaponry.

"At least the fight will be short," Myka unexcitedly says. "Unless Madeleine, and by extension, the shadow clones, can catch bullets. Wait… no…"

"I want to see if that's true!" The excited shadow clone bangs the desk. "Commence le battle!"

As soon as the signal was heard, Kine let it rip, sending out bullet after bullet at the Captain, who foolishly covered his head with his arms, thinking he could take it. Unfortunately, he could not and was immediately eliminated. His body flopped onto the ground after being filled with holes, and then he was revived and sent to the participants' watching area.

"And he got turned into Swiss cheese!" Darky maniacally laughed once again. "God, that was fucking hilarious… but it won't be as funny as seeing one of my sisters getting ripped to shreds!"

"Due to her ability 'Faster Learning', Mila became an expert in firearms after a day spent in the Reincarnator's Organization's base, and imparted the knowledge onto her assigned Shadow Clone, Kine." As always, Myka reads from a script. She then mutters, "Of course, a male gets merced first in this shitty tournament. Fucking yuri…"

"Did you say something, Myka?"

"Fuck you."

Back on the battlefield, Kine turns her attention to Oceana and fires upon her. Expecting an easy victory, Mila kept her focus on the participant's area, hoping to catch either her aunt or Madeleine. Upon hearing a cheer from the crowd, thinking it was her victory, she makes her way out of the arena before noticing the barrier was still up. She turns to her partner shadow clone, then to the opposing shadow clone, and notices a plethora of shadowy hands, each grasping a bullet.

"Tch… the Handyman's Hands… so that's where they went." Mila quickly raised her voice. "Kine, approach her in clo-" Before she could finish, each shadow hand threw back their bullets at Kine, transforming each of them from bullets of darkness into daggers of darkness, completely skewering the Prodigy's shadow clone.

"Damnit," proclaims Mila, rolling up her sleeves to reveal a hidden blade. She starts approaching Oceana. "Very well then. Prepare to face me in close combat." She immediately gets punched in the face by an extra hand, knocking her out cold.

The crowd takes a moment to realise what happened, then erupts in cheers. "Aaand she's out of there! To think our sister managed to hide a secret weapon from the SCMNTTWSRGAPNF™. I wonder who else has secrets?!"

"Did you seriously say that entire anagram?"

"Yes. Yes, I did."

"Wow… just wow."

"Anyways, since he was just in the match and the name of his Sacred Power was mentioned, here's the Captain's Sacred Power!"

Punch

You can punch things.

Side Note: It seems terrible on paper, but it's better than you think.

Character profile: Captain Gus Jarkin

Sacred power: Punch

Favourite Harem Member: He loves them all equally.

Description: The harem-having captain of a makeshift raft. Due to the dangers of the Endless Sea, the lack of a second continent, the presence of Curry the Pirate Lord, and the dangers of in-land countries, most coastal nations choose to not have a navy. One exception is Sacre Pla, whose navy was single-handedly made by Gus. He has since retired, having given the reins to his former second-in-command, and aimed to have the more leisurely job of sailing a ship meant to transport people. His life then took a wild turn when his ship had a shadow stowaway on it.

I've just realised that, by proxy, I gave Madeleine a gun... the dark humor enthusiast in me wants to reference either "This Is America" by Childish Gambino or "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster The People.
