Lastrada, Artesia, and Kagura let out sighs of admiration at the sight outside, one which they had missed for many years.

「Mhm, I know, I know.」

Mira saw their reaction and chuckled amiably, while hoping that soon all nine of them could gather once again and watch the scenery like that.

Once they were done sightseeing, the ship went further into Lunatic Lake and landed on the Academy’s yard, as Solomon had told them to.

There were engineers waiting there, who skillfully tied and secured the ship to the ground, before swiftly helping deploy the ramp.

All of the children aboard were seeing such a large yard for the first time, so they descended the ramp full of excitement while being taken aback by it all.

「Welcome to Arkite.」

Suleyman was also there to welcome them. Solomon was too busy, so he had sent Suleyman to show them the place.

「Thank you so much for receiving us. We’re forever in your debt.」

「Thanks man!」

Artesia and Lastrada replied, and Suleyman bowed deeply, adding, 「I can’t express how much I’ve been waiting for this day. It truly is an honor to witness your return.」

(Now that I think about it, this is the first time someone is returning properly.)

Suleyman usually did not show much emotion, so seeing him so visibly happy made Mira feel proud of her work. Once the initial greetings were over, Suleyman guided everyone to the building that would become the new orphanage.

That also meant the duties of the Fifty Bells’ members were over, so they all headed out to the city. The spellcasters in particular made a beeline to the stables, looking for carriages and horses that would take them to Silver Horn.

The engineers from the castle also pulled Mira’s wagon away. They had been the ones who built it, and they had been itching to perform maintenance on it. It was likely they also wanted to gather data from the wagon’s outings, and with their zeal, they would be done by the next day.

The new orphanage was located next to Arkite’s Magic Academy, so to get there, they would need to walk across the yard, which was something unusual for everyone involved. The kids were all just as excited as when they looked out of the ship’s windows during the trip.

The teachers were looking around with sparkling eyes too, admiring the Academy’s size and infrastructure. They even started planning on discussing whether they would be allowed to use some of the facilities, as they would become neighbors.

And then the students were also watching with curiosity, as it was rare for so many visitors to pass through there.

「Hm, so they’re over there.」

Mira noticed a familiar face looking out of a classroom some ten meters away, together with many other students. She was Hinata, the summoner instructor. That made Mira think that the other students looking out of the classroom were also studying summoning.

The interest in summoners had only begun rising recently, so even first year students had varying ages. At first glance, it was hard to believe that everyone there were classmates.

(Oh…have I seen her before?)

Mira noticed a girl with blonde twin tails looking through the window. She had what could be described as a flippant look, like she was some sort of self-important princess, and Mira found her oddly familiar. But unable to recall where she had seen that girl, Mira decided it was not important. Except that the girl seemed to think otherwise.

When Hinata noticed Mira, she happily waved at her, and Mira waved back. The twin tails girl noticed that, and turned to look at Hinata to talk to her, seemingly realizing that Hinata and Mira knew each other.

Soon after, all of the students looked at Hinata, and then at Mira again, their eyes widening. Hinata smiled proudly after that, so she probably had told them about her previous encounter with Mira, and how she was the pupil of Danbulf, and everything that she had done at the Academy previously.

Only the twin tails girl was different, standing there with a blank look like she had suffered a terrible shock.

Under the gaze of all those students, they crossed through the yard and reached their destination, the place where the new orphanage would be.

「This looks quite nice actually.」

The building that had been used for provisional classrooms while the Academy was being built was even better than Mira and the rest had anticipated. It was built with sturdy stone, and was at least two or three times bigger than the mansions nearby, being three floors tall. It looked more like an inn than an orphanage.

「This is breathtaking…」

One of the teachers muttered that. It was quite a change going from a largely handbuilt and improvised tree houses to a large and impressive building. It was like all the teachers were seeing a new hope.

「I’m first!」

As soon as Suleyman finished explaining that this would be their new home, one of the older boys shouted that and ran ahead, unable to keep still and quiet any longer. The other children soon followed after him, all laughing happily.

「Hey, stop that! I’m so sorry, these children really don’t know how to stay still.」

One of the female teachers apologized to Suleyman before chasing after the children, with others following.

While that was happening, Mira felt something tugging on her skirt. When she turned to see what it was, she found the younger group, looking at her with twinkling eyes. They had not followed the rest, and continued to stand quietly with her.

Somehow, Mira’s influence on them from the previous few days had stopped them from impulsively following the rest, and were still following Mira’s indications to stand still. But their excitement was reaching its limit, as they also wanted to look around the building.

「Okay, okay. You can go too, but don’t run so you don’t trip or bump into anyone.」

As soon as Mira gave them permission, they all gave an energetic 「Okay!」 and ventured into the building, while being careful to not run just like Mira had told them.
