Chapter 4: 03 | Ignored
After Blue finished handing out all the flyers in his hand, he brought out another stack of papers from his bag.
"I've printed out the scripts for the speakers that will give a speech on the day of the convention. Make sure to study it carefully and not fuck up on stage." Blue said with a monotonous voice as he began to give out the papers he was holding.
Not everyone in the club received a printout from him this time around. Only six people did. After handing out the papers, he was about to address the members of the club once again when a feminine voice rang out.
"Why should we rehearse lines that you came up with?"
Blue turned to face the owner of the voice. It was a female Omega whom he had never privately interacted with before. She was looking at him with a hint of disdain in her eyes.
"Pardon?" Blue simply said.
The girl cleared her throat and sat up on her chair before she responded with, "We're each giving speeches individually. Why should you be the one to compose what we have to say?"
Blue took a step forward in her direction and said, "If you were here for the meeting last two weeks, you would know that we all collectively agreed for one person to write all the speeches so someone wouldn't randomly go off ranting nonsense on stage.
"And if you didn't want me to be the one to write the speeches, you should have been here to nominate yourself. Or better yet, the convention is next week, why haven't you written an original speech yourself? You were obviously waiting for someone to hand-feed a script to you.
"Now that you've gotten it, you think you have any grounds to complain about it? I'm really not in the mood to give out a whole-ass lecture right now, so you better not start what you can't finish."
At the end of Blue's blunt words, the female Omega was speechless. She glared at him fiercely, then shifted her gaze to Adam, as if to ask for backup.
Since Adam and Blue were best friends, he was the worst possible person to seek backup from in this situation.
Adam only tapped Blue's shoulders and said, "Chill out, bro. We have other things to do today."
Blue exhaled deeply after hearing that, then pushed his hair back from his face. He erased the memory of the girl saying nonsense to him and addressed the club members of the things he wanted them to take note of before and during the convention.
The club meeting officially ended after fifteen minutes, and Blue began to pack up, since he had to go home and write (stare at his laptop and pray for inspiration to come to him so that he could actually write).
"Why are you in such a hurry?" Adam asked Blue, seeing as the latter was aggressively shoving things into his bag in a hurry.
Blue looked at Adam and said, "I recently made a writing time-table for myself that I have to follow through with. Or else, I'm just gonna keep acting lazy all the time."
Adam's mouth formed an O. He was about to say something when two newcomers appeared in their midst.
"Hi!" Logan said a bit too enthusiastically to Adam and Blue.
Blue didn't bother glancing up and responding as he sensed that the two people were both Alphas.
"Oh, hi! Logan, right? Today is your first club meeting! Welcome!" Adam exclaimed with a smile on his face.
Logan's cheeks tinted pink with embarrassment as he muttered, "Yeah."
"And if it isn't the 'Sunshine Prince' of Chestfield," Adam set his gaze on Winter. "Welcome to the club."
"Thank you. I feel welcomed already." Winter responded with an easygoing smile on his face.
Adam was momentarily flustered. Other than that day when Blue had told off some Alphas and Winter had attempted to apologize on their behalf, Adam hadn't seen Winter's face up close before.
The latter was truly as handsome as the rumors said. Gorgeous, in fact. All his proportions were perfect. From his long blond lashes, to his green eyes, to his straight nose, to his pink full lips. He also had a beauty mark on the bridge of his nose which somehow intensified his beauty.
Adam viewed Winter as the perfect Alpha. So he couldn't stop himself from wanting to grow closer to Winter and 'talk' to him.
But Winter's attention was on Blue, who had finally finished packing up his things and was about to leave the club room.
"Hi," Winter said to Blue with a smile on his face. He was already so gorgeous, but smiling made Winter look like someone who had descended from heaven.
Blue didn't think Winter had descended from heaven. He only thought that Winter was an Alpha. And him being an Alpha was enough to categorize him as a bad person.
"What?" Blue responded to Winter with a snappy tone.
Winter, taken aback by Blue's sharp defensiveness, stuttered briefly as he said, "D-Do you remember me? We met at Dot's Café the other day. I was wondering if you would like to—"
"Bye. I'm off." Blue cut Winter off and faced Adam.
Then he turned around and walked out of the club room. Winter was stunned.
'He just walked away from me.' Winter thought, flabbergastedly. 'I was talking to him, and he walked away from me. Wow.'
Blue hadn't even listened to what he said. He hadn't even responded. He literally treated him like a pest, then walked away!
Who in the world acted this way?! And to him, no less!
Winter couldn't understand what was going on. His head began to hurt. How could someone ignore him? Him, of all people?
Logan, as a good friend, noticed that Winter was probably facing a mental breakdown at the unsubtle rejection he just received, so he made up a crazy excuse to Adam and led Winter out of the clubroom.
Logan only stopped pulling Winter behind him when they reached an empty hallway.
"Winter, are you okay? Don't take it personally. I heard that guy hates Alphas. It's not because there's anything wrong with you personally." Logan tried to give Winter some face.
But Winter suddenly broke into a laugh. A very maniacal laugh with a perverse look on his face.
Logan was creeped out. He knew that laugh very well. He could only sigh and pity Blue in his heart.
Winter laughed madly for a long time before he sobered up and said, "First time getting ignored. I never knew it would feel so… thrilling!"
Winter covered his hand with his face and smiled with his full set of teeth showing.
Blue seemed to be much more than a fierce Omega. He was also someone who knew how to restrain himself very well and was unbothered by external factors.
He hadn't cared about Winter's appearance when he first met him, hadn't cared to give him face, hadn't cared that he caught the interest of such a gorgeous Alpha.
Blue was simply… perfect prey.
"Gosh. It's been so long since I hunted. Who knew I would find such a delectable game?" Winter said to Logan with a strange smile on his lips.
Logan opened his mouth to talk Winter off from the mad things that were going through his head, but the latter was already far gone in his daydreaming.
"I have to have him," Winter said to himself. "I have to have him at all costs."
