Chapter 1: 00 | Prologue
Blue Kent was sitting across from Charlotte Blum, who was the host of the popular talk show, 'Tea with Charlotte'. 'Tea with Charlotte' had high ratings and everyone who was invited to the show was either a top-notch celebrity or a future top-notch celebrity.
As for Blue, he was just a writer whose debut book sold over ten million copies across the world.
When Blue wrote his debut book, 'How to be a Perfect Omega', he didn't expect it to become so popular.
He had written the book on a whim to let out his frustration with the world. The story told in 'How to be a Perfect Omega' was the opposite of its title. The book was about a young boy who manifested as an Omega in a family of Alphas.
As opposed to the book title, all the main character did was to frustrate and cause trouble for every other character in the book, giving himself the title of 'Worst Omega in the World'.
He acted unbefitting of his Omega gender. He refused to let the laws of Alphas control his life. The story was beautifully written and raised awareness of the many struggles of an Omega.
Many people viewed 'How to be a Perfect Omega' as a literary classic that would be praised for many years to come. Other people viewed the book as nonsensical.
Struggles of an Omega? How ridiculous. The only struggle an Omega should be facing was what to do to make their Alpha happy and satisfied.
Blue, himself, was an Omega. His lifelong dream was to put every Alpha in their place—which should be beneath an Omega's feet.
"Gosh, I'm so nervous to start this interview," Charlotte Blum said as she fanned herself with her hand dramatically.
Charlotte was a Beta. So luckily for her, she would not be facing the hostility that Alphas faced when they communicated with Blue.
Blue smiled politely and said, "Why should you be nervous? As the interviewee, I should be the one who's nervous."
At Blue's words, Charlotte pointed a finger at him and said, "That! That's exactly why I'm nervous! How could you expect me to be calm when facing such an angel with a charming smile like yours?"
At Charlotte's flirting attempt, the small audience watching the live show clapped and whistled. But Charlotte, herself, wasn't even trying to hit on Blue.
Her words were sincere. Blue was much too beautiful to be a human being. Regular Omegas were already so beautiful. Blue, who was a Dominant Omega, was just beyond what words could cover.
His shoulder-length inky-black hair had a blue-ish color under the bright white lighting of the studio's stage. And his dark blue eyes happened to appear a bit lighter in color.
The shape of his eyes were thin. Just staring at a person could make them think that Blue was flirting with them with his eyes. His nose was straight and pointed; his lips were pink and plump.
Charlotte just wanted to take a picture of Blue and paste the photo as reference to the word, 'beautiful', in the dictionary.
"I'm flattered." Blue responded to Charlotte's words with a modest tone.
Charlotte blushed and continued to fan her face as she spoke.
"So, I'm sure you've gotten this question dozens of times, but I only want to ask it now for formal purposes—what inspired you to write 'How to be a Perfect Omega'? And also, who is your main character, Milo Mikaelson, modeled after?"
Blue inhaled deeply and said, "Well, like I've said dozens of times, I wrote 'How to be a Perfect Omega' to let out steam. And Milo is modeled after me. Well, he's not completely modeled after me, I'm not so unruly—"
Both the audience and Charlotte laughed at those words.
"—Milo's character is like an alter ego of mine. Most of the things he did, most of the things he said, I have never said or done them, but I've always wished I could."
Everyone went silent after that and listened to Blue's words intently.
"Milo is braver than me. He's able to tell people off and do exactly what comes to his mind. He's able to brush off criticism and ignore haters. People might think I'm the same, but I'm actually not." Blue explained.
Charlotte leaned forward and said, "Really? I honestly thought you had the same personality as Milo. I've seen the amount of criticism you get from netizens for merely existing, but you've never once responded. You weren't brushing them off?"
Blue shook his head and forced a smile on his lips as he said, "I don't ignore them. I just don't know how to reply to them. I mean, what am I supposed to respond with when someone calls me a sissy and a disappointment since I couldn't follow the same profession path as the rest of my family?"
The audience laughed a little.
Charlotte smiled in understanding and said, "That reminds me, why didn't you actually follow the same profession path as the rest of your family? I've heard that you have a killer right hook. Some people say that you really treasure your face, that's why you didn't become a professional boxer. Is that true?"
Blue laughed at the question before answering. "I do treasure my face, but that's not why I didn't go pro boxing. I just hate my family. Doing the same thing as them disgusts me."
Blue spoke with a neutral expression. Both Charlotte and the audience couldn't tell if he was joking or being serious. When Blue noticed this, he decided to clarify to help them understand.
"They're all Alphas. It sickens me when I think of it. Most boxers are also Alphas. Some like to say that it's a sport for Alphas. That's the main reason why I didn't go pro boxing. I tend to stay away from things that involve Alphas."
"Not out of fear, though," Blue quickly added. "It's out of disgust. I find Alphas disgusting."
Charlotte, who was a professional host and a veteran skilled in schooling her expression, couldn't hide the shock on her face.
Even the audience were stunned. Those watching the live show from home, as well as the ones streaming it from their phones, were also stunned.
Charlotte whispered to Blue, saying, "You do know that this is a live show, don't you? You just said those words on National TV."
Blue had a relaxed look on his face as he said, "Oh, I'm aware. My hatred for Alphas isn't a new thing. Everyone, who knows me, knows that I can't stand them. I don't find it unnatural or weird."
Charlotte realized that Blue was actually being serious. She had no choice but to clear her throat and change the course of the conversation.
"So… It's been almost three years since 'How to be a Perfect Omega' came out. Do you have any plans for a new book?"
At this question, Blue smiled brightly. "I do! I'm still plotting it out so I can't reveal any details yet."
Charlotte wasn't satisfied with this answer as she tried to get more information from Blue about his new book. Like so, she had brushed off the fact that Blue said he found Alphas disgusting on National TV.
Though Charlotte and the live audience of 'Tea with Charlotte' had gotten past that fact, netizens didn't do the same.
People began to share clips of Blue saying that he found Alphas disgusting on many social media platforms. The line began to trend as famous people reposted and shared the video of him saying it.
So many people had different views about his statement as they watched Blue's clip.
[Hating Alphas and finding them disgusting? Coming from an Omega, it just sounds like seeking attention.]
[I can relate. Alphas are disgusting, but that doesn't mean I hate them.]
[Another Omega who should be locked up in a basement is now spewing nonsense on National TV.]
[What a fool.]
[#alphasaredisgusting]
[Finally! An Omega is speaking the truth! #alphasaredisgusting]
[Can't wait to see this one eat his own words when he falls in love with an Alpha one day.]
