After answering Harry's question, I stared at him intently, waiting to see what the green-eyed boy's reaction would be when he heard me say the Dark Lord's name.
And his reaction, unsurprisingly, was exactly what I expected.
As soon as he heard the name of the Dark Lord who killed his parents and destroyed his life, Harry froze, paralyzed by shock.
And then a look of complete horror and panic came over his face, as he stared at me with his mouth open and his eyes wide.
And besides seeing his expression I could also feel his feelings and emotions, and they were in a restless mess.
I could feel surprise, panic, fear, anger, worry, anguish and many other distressing emotions coming from him.
And I was already expecting something like that, but that didn't stop me from being a little worried about him.
And as I analyzed Harry the boy came out of his paralyzed state, looking at me with a pained look.
"I-Is Voldemort... Is he r-really a Parselmouth?" Harry asked me, and I could see in his eyes that he was begging me to say no.
But I couldn't give him the answer he wanted, knowing that it would only prolong his anguish until the day he discovered the truth.
And knowing this, I had to answer him honestly, but in a more cautious way so that he wouldn't be too shaken.
"Well, it's just rumors and hearsay, and it hasn't been 100% confirmed… But the chances of it being true aren't zero," I replied carefully.
And even though my answer neither confirmed nor denied anything, for Harry I practically said a resounding yes, confirming that the crazy and cruel wizard was also a Parselmouth, just like him.
And if before he thought being a Parselmouth was shocking and strange because it connected him to Salazar Slytherin, who was the founder of the house in which Voldemort studied, now he was completely disturbed, because this connection became even deeper.
'Voldemort is a Parselmouth... We both have the same ability' Harry thought, taking a step back with a shaken look.
And his best friend and his girlfriend, upon seeing this, promptly approached him, with Hermione holding his arm while Ron placed a hand on his shoulder, showing support for his friend.
"Are you okay Harry?" Hermione asked worriedly.
"I-I... I don't know..." Harry replied, confused about it all.
And Ron and Hermione, seeing this, looked at each other with apprehensive looks, not knowing what to say to Harry to try to reassure him.
And Harry continued with a frown on his face, but then he looked at his friends and saw that they were by his side, showing support for him.
And realizing that he was not alone in this situation, he took a deep breath, managing to control his emotions a little, enough to be able to think rationally.
'I don't understand... They all said that Parseltongue is a rare and unique ability, so what are the chances that Voldemort and I have the same ability?' Harry wondered with a grimace.
'Furthermore, Ethan also said that the ability to speak Parseltongue is something hereditary, which means that it definitely came from some part of my family, probably from my father since my mother is a muggleborn'
'But if that's true then why have I never heard anyone talk about it? Was it some kind of family secret?' Harry started thinking of various assumptions and theories, but nothing seemed to make sense to him.
And he was beginning to feel like he was trying to solve a complex puzzle that was incomplete.
But as he pondered, a rather shocking thought came to Harry's mind.
'Wait... What if my family has some connection to Salazar Slytherin? What if he's my ancestor?' he thought.
And Harry came to this conclusion because he realized that if the ability to speak Parseltongue was as rare and special as we said, then it was unlikely that several families had this ability without being connected.
And so, it was much more feasible to believe that all the Parselmouths that existed and exist in the United Kingdom actually came from the same lineage.
And he knew that some of the founders of Hogwarts had descendants, passing on their lineage and legacy, and the chances of Salazar being one of them were very high.
And adding two plus two, Harry concluded that some descendant of Salazar Slytherin ended up marrying someone from the Potter family, which passed on the ability to speak Parseltongue to them, and that would explain why he had this ability.
But as he thought about this, a much more frightening and worrying question popped into Harry's mind, which made him freeze momentarily.
'What if... What if my family is connected not just to Salazar Slytherin? What if Voldemort and I also have a blood connection?' he theorized, feeling fear and horror begin to form in his chest.
'What if Voldemort is some distant relative of mine?'
And there were a lot of 'what ifs', but the more Harry thought about them the more he felt they made sense, and the more he realized they were probably true.
And if Harry thought calmly he would realize that there were several flaws in his assumptions, but his mind was so troubled that he could think of nothing else other than the fact that his parents' killer was related to him.
'No... It can't be...' Harry thought, shaking his head as he felt his chest tighten.
He then began to breathe irregularly and erratically, and I who had been watching him since the moment of the 'big reveal' noticed this.
And I wasn't a doctor or anything like that, but I could recognize when someone was having an anxiety attack.
And seeing this I quickly took a step forward, approaching the green-eyed boy.
"Harry," I called, placing my hand on his shoulder and making him look at me, "I need you to calm down and take deep breaths, okay?" I said, looking at him calmly.
And through my hand that was on his shoulder I cast a light healing spell that I knew on him, and this spell was used to calm and reassure very agitated patients or those who were having emotional attacks.
And Harry, when hit by my spell, felt as if a cold breeze had passed through his body, leaving his mind clearer and calmer.
And this helped him focus on me, and after hearing my words he began to breathe in and out slowly, and within a few seconds he began to feel the tightness in his chest lessen.
And as I felt his emotions getting under control I nodded, "Good" I said, taking my hand off his shoulder.
And with one last long, deep breath Harry felt a little better, and turning to his friend and girlfriend who were still holding him he gave them a small, grateful smile, happy that they were by his side.
And even though they were still worried about Harry, Ron and Hermione also smiled slightly at him, with Hermione hugging his arm while Ron gave his shoulder a light squeeze.
And seeing and feeling the support of his friends, Harry nodded, before looking back at me.
"Thank you Ethan" he thanked me
"You don't need to thank me, I didn't do anything," I said, dismissing his thanks with a wave of my hand.
"Sure," Harry smiled slightly, knowing I had done something to help him.
But I didn't pay much attention to that, because at this moment we had a much more important issue to deal with, and so I decided to get straight to the point.
"But well, now that you're calmer, can you tell us what happened?" I asked, looking at him seriously, "I know that knowing that Voldemort is probably a Parselmouth wouldn't make you like this, so something else must have happened, right?"
And hearing my question Harry looked away, uncertain about whether or not he should say what he 'discovered'.
But he looked at all of us in the classroom, and he saw that his friends, me, and even Fleur were looking at him worriedly, and this made him realize that there was no point in lying to us.
And then, with a decision made, Harry took a deep breath, before starting to tell us about his assumptions and conclusions.
And he explained everything in detail to us, telling us about his theories, about the points and arguments that led him to believe he was right, and finally telling us about the issue that almost caused his anxiety attack.
And as soon as he finished telling us everything a silence fell over the room, with his friends looking at him nervously and worriedly as he looked down with his hands clenched into a fist.
And after hearing everything he said I stared at him with a frown.
'Damn, if he almost had an anxiety attack with just assumptions and theories I don't even want to see what his reaction will be when he finds out the whole truth' I grimaced.
End.
