"Where is the Defense Against the Dark Arts room?" Anthony asked me as we walked down the hall.
"Why are you asking me?" I asked him with a raised eyebrow.
"Because you're the one who knows where the classrooms are" Terry replied as if it were obvious.
"And now I'm your guide?" I asked with mock indignation.
""Yes!"" they replied in sync.
"Ugh... Okay" I said rolling my eyes, "Follow me" I told them. And then I proceeded to lead them through the halls to DADA's classroom.
The Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom was on the third floor. The classroom was dark and stuffy, and it smelled strongly of garlic, and with my nose, I could smell decay. The room also had some skeletons of creatures scattered around it and some cages hanging from the ceiling.
The boys and I entered the room and chose a place in the back to sit. And not long after, Professor Quirrell arrived and started his class.
Professor Quirrell's stutter was something that made the class difficult to understand, and at one time or another I felt like taking a nap or reading a book, something that was more worthwhile than attending this class.
The class was basically theoretical teachings. Professor Quirrell told us about sealing a werewolf bite with a mixture of powdered silver and Dittany, about Imps, who were a Pixie-like species who liked to torment people by making them trip or push them, and about ghosts, using the castle ghosts as an example.
And after a lot of stuttering and smelling that unbearable smell of garlic and corpse, which I realized was coming from Professor Quirrell, or more precisely, from his turban, DADA's class came to an end, signaling that the first day's classes had finally are over.

"Well, that class was…" Terry started to say as we left DADA's class.
"Disappointing?" I completed for him.
"I was going to say boring, but I think disappointing too," Terry said with a nod.
"So far I have no idea what he meant in 70% of the class," Anthony said in frustration.
"In the next DADA class I will bring a book as it should be easier to learn by myself than with Professor Quirrell" I told them.
"Hmm, I think I'll do the same" Terry said thoughtfully.
"Me too…" Anthony said, "But changing the subject. It's still a few hours until dinner…what do you guys want to do until then?" he asked for us.
"Hmm, how about we go to the library?" Terry replied after thinking a bit.
"The library? What do you think, Ethan?" Anthony asked turning to me.
"Fine by me," I replied with a shrug.
"Then it's decided! Let's go to the library" Anthony said. And then he started leading us down the hall, until he stopped suddenly.
"Eh... Hmm... You don't know how to get to the library, would you Ethan?" he turned to me and asked embarrassed.
"...Just follow me..." I said with my right eye twitching. And then I started taking us to the library.

The library was truly amazing, with its thousands of bookcase on hundreds of shelvings, containing tens of thousands of books. It was as big as the Great Hall, and that's not counting the tables and chairs they had scattered around it.
When we entered the library, we noticed that it was practically empty, with the only few students being the 7th or 5th year, who are preparing for their NEWT's and OWL's, and the librarian, Madam Pince.
Sitting at a table in a secluded corner, I grabbed my 4th Grade spellbook and my notebook from my bag, and started looking for combat spells to jot down in my journal, where I would learn them when I went to Room of Requirement. And meanwhile, Anthony and Terry pulled out their own books, Anthony's being a Herbology book, and Terry's being a Transfiguration book.
"What are you doing, Ethan?" Terry asked me after a while, putting his book down on the table and looking curiously at my notes.
"I'm writing down combat spells" I replied to him.
"For what?" Terry asked confused.
"Terry, we're in a world where everyone carries a weapon, so I would obviously try to learn how to defend myself from anyone trying to use that weapon against me," I told him.
And Anthony, who was eavesdropping on our conversation, asked me confused, "What weapon?"
"A wand" I told them, and seeing their uncomprehending faces, I decided to explain further, "Practically everyone in the wizarding world carries a wand with themselves, the same wand that with a simple wave can explode or set fire to a house, and that's not counting the basic spells we even learn at school, like the cutting spell, {Diffindo} and the explosive spell, {Bombarda}" and I could see their faces slowly gain understanding.
"And then there are the potions and spells that mess with the mind, the poisons, and the cursed objects. In fact, there's so much that can be used to harm someone that I couldn't even list them in a day." examples for them.
"I always knew that the wizarding world had its dangers, but it's just that I never thought about it more deeply or worried about it much" said Anthony, "But you don't think you're exaggerating?" he asked me unsure.
"Exaggerating? I don't think so," I replied with a shrug, "Just think of the two wizard wars that happened, Grindelwald's and Voldemort's..." Anthony and Terry gasped in surprise when I said 'Voldemort', and I rolled my eyes at that and kept going, "Yes, they were two very powerful and dangerous wizards, but they were just one person, and they managed to terrorize the wizarding world. And even when they had their soldiers, allies, whatever you want to call them, they were still only a few dozen, that if you compare with the amount of wizards who could fight or fought against them in these wars, there was a ratio of 1 to 10 in favor of the light side, in the minimum" I finished while looking at them seriously.
"And you still think someone with a wand isn't dangerous?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"That... Well... Sigh, okay you're right" Terry said after not finding a way to refute what I said.
"But how did you know all this, Ethan? Aren't you a muggleborn?" Anthony asked.
"I did my research" I said shrugging my shoulders, "Since I was coming to a whole new world, I decided to inform myself first"
"Good thinking," Anthony said.
End.
